I’m currently able to see both of your sections on that page rendering the background image in fullscreen to match the section’s viewport size. Have you tried temporarily disabling your performance-optimization plugin to check whether it’s a caching issue? Here’s a screen recording from my end.

Hi. Is there a way to remove the featured photo on posts from particular categories. I’d like to remove the featured photo for my newsletters category posts (see at https://cusw-bc.ca/fall-2025-cusw-newsletter/). Bug? Create a Global section for the Footer. Use a template for the footer in WP Bakery that includes a copyright row. Enable the Footer global section on all the footer locations. Works, but displays 2 copyright rows.
In Salient -> Footer configuration
Main Footer Area [ off ] Disable Footer Copyright Area [ on ]
The copyright rows from BOTH salient and the global section are now turned off. It should leave the Global Section’s copyright row intact.

Sure thing! Site is bohohavn.com. It’s a brand new site, latest Salient version. I went to Global Templates -> Add New Global Section. WPBakery Page Builder -> Add Template. I selected a template called “General: Light Footer”. Then I set the display location and conditions to: Display 10: Footer, Conditions: True, Everywhere. Then publish.
This creates a footer that will display on all the pages. Now the copyright area (usually looks like “© 2025 Bohohavn.”) is shown via both Salient’s built-in footer config and that “Light Footer” template. So now I want to get rid of “© 2025 Bohohavn.” being generated by Salient. Go to Salient -> Footer. Turn ON “Disable Footer Copyright Area.” – now both the Salient copyright area and the Footer template’s copyright area are being hidden.
It’s unclear how the Salient->Footer setting suppresses the copyright row, because that Global Template for the footer doesn’t name the copyright row. Using the clone feature, so there are two copyright rows in the footer template causes 1 to show. Strange!
Thanks Jrauch10, the issue is much more clear now!
The issue is that the bottom two columns in that template are set to animate in using a column animation. When they’re placed directly at the bottom of the page, the animation trigger point isn’t being activated. If you edit both of those columns and remove the column animation – or edit the parent row and increase the padding (for example, from 28px to 40px) – the trigger point should be reached when scrolling down.

1) With AI I am working on optimization of Smooth Scroll, because on fast scroll flythroughs through my self hosted video player grids it stops the scroll and loads things unnecessarily (batches of videos there)... and I want to build a custom fix to allow fast scrolls without triggering autoplays (with autoplay being ON in salient, because it’s for a specific effect for those users that decide to scroll normally and experience the video grid). Sorry I am not a dev but I believe there should be a possibility to code for multiple edge cases… to have autoplay on sight enabled + a layer of code that allows fast scrolls through the content without triggering autoplay or pausing it with smart balanced code structure for elite feel for users. Can you please pinpoint me which files are important for this so I can feed it to the AI or at least in what directions I should be prompting and building a fix for that? (I am using Grok 4.1 and so far it works great!)
2) Back to top button doesn’t work like straight jump to link/onepage (#links), but for example if I have a section near the bottom of the site, and everything is lazy loaded to the max and I just load the site and jump to that #link at the bottom then I click the back to top button, the jump to the top isn’t same as to the #link, it triggers sliding/loading of all the elements on the way back to the top. Please investigate, it should be easy to fix. Live Example: http://heavenly69.com/ click the top left button BUY MEMBERSHIP it will jump you straight to #pricing (fast and correct), then click back to top button, it will slide through the entire content triggering loading of everything (which in my opinion should work without loading things, just straight jump to the top).
3) This might be a bug or conscious limitation, but after enabling in Salient Settings: Header Blur Background ON; Header Blur Background Type Progressive Gradient; Header Blur Background Functionality Active in all header states. The page’s Header Navigation Entrance Animation settings is forced to None even if Fade In or Fade In From Top are chosen. I think for someone smart like you who build Salient (wow), building the progressive gradient fade in or fade in from top with the entire nav should be simple. I hope I am not wrong and it’s not a lot of work.
When I am gonna launch H69 and get clients I will buy the Salient Support, but for now I have to survive, lol. Thanks for all the valuable attention and help. Well appreciated!

These are pretty technical questions and go deeper than we can fully cover in the comments. If you’d like more in-depth help, we’d be happy to assist through a support ticket. In the meantime, here’s some high-level guidance:
1. You would need to modify the nectarLazyVideoCallback in the init.js file
2. The back to top function is always animated and thus will trigger scroll events like regular scrolling. To make it not animated, you would need modify the “scrollToTopInit” in the init.js
3. That’s an intentional limitation — animating any layer involved in the blur effect will break the effect, because CSS animations create new stacking contexts, which disrupt how the blur is composited.

How do you install the 18 the update without it overwriting the current layout and settings? I updated my staging site but was left with everything overwritten and had to revert to the previous back up rather than re write and design everything. Also, have a lot of editing functionality been removed from the page builder, it seems to be a lot pared back? I used to have option to have .mov as a background layer but now the only option is a YouTube URL.

There are no additional steps required for existing theme options to carry over into the latest version. It sounds like something may have gone wrong during the update — possibly related to caching, performance plugins, or a child theme — but it’s hard to say without seeing the URL.
Regarding video formats, we’ve never explicitly supported .mov files, as they are not a standard for web playback. Salient has always recommended using .mp4 and .webm files for self-hosted video backgrounds which is still available: https://ibb.co/kgQgMTRQ

Thanks for the fast response. It was very weird as it only had 2 basic tab options on the row editor and looked like a major design change but thanks to your image, it showed something was definitely not right. Hey DonVlado, the Harbor demo includes the Fluent Form. It looks like the shortcode on your page is broken. Did you install the required Fluent Forms plugin before importing the demo? Tonight I tested out the new Salient 18.1. Discovering what’s new and it’s a great update!
Maybe this feature is present since earlier updates, but I noticed it just now. When you change the background image of Salient Templates > Harbor Hero. On desktop / laptop, it all works just fine. But when I check the responsiveness on a mobile phone, the background image don’t change. It just keeps the original background image:
I can’t find where I can turn off this fallback image. I tried to force the uploaded image with some CSS, but it’s getting overruled somewhere.
This is the CSS I tried out:

You’ll need to change the Header Blur Background Type from Progressive Gradient to Default when using the contained option. That specific type of blur will be disabled by default for the container header in the next minor release.
Awesome, thank you! That fixed a lot of it. The rounded corner radius and transparency settings don’t seem to work. Any idea why? My nav bar is still transparent even know I have it off and the border radius seems to stay the same regardless of the slider adjustments.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I read the documentation and activated the effect halfway down this page: https://yuriguccione.com/attivita/discografia-yuri-guccione/. It changes color regularly, but doesn’t revert when the page scrolls back, coloring everything else.
Thanks for sharing the page, albertoguccione. Only a section designated as a Color Change Section will trigger the change – there is no automatic reversion to a default color past a certain point. In your case, assuming you want the rows above and below it to return to the light background, you’ll need to set the desired background on both of those rows and enable the Color Change Section for them as well.

However, I have a question regarding the triggering of the Lotties.
I have a section with multiple tabs: “Data provider – Data aggregation, Portfolio management – Risk & Compliance.”
I’ve added one Lottie per tab set to “play when visible.” My issue is that they all play as soon as I arrive at this section, and when I switch tabs, the animation has already been played.
How can I fix this?

Unfortunately, Salient doesn’t currently offer an option to restart a Lottie animation when switching tabs. However, I’ve added the idea to our wishlist. For now, I recommend keeping the loop setting enabled so the Lottie animations play continuously.
