Hi, we noticed an issue with the Post Loop Builder when displaying standard posts.
Using: Vertical List with Featured Image Follow
the featured image does not follow the cursor and stays fixed in the background. The same configuration works correctly with other post types (e.g. Portfolio).
Screenshort: https://imgur.com/a/LkfGyTs
Is this a known limitation/bug for the default “post” type, or is there a workaround?
Thanks.
Hey sipeople,
I have not been able to replicate that locally yet. Could you kindly share your URL to the page showing the issue so that I can take a closer look?
Thanks in advance
Thanks.
Thanks sipeople!
I’ve confirmed the issue to be related to instances where lazy load is off. The fix for that will be included in the next release.
Kind regards
Hello, recently attempted to switch over to Salient, only to be contacted by a customer saying they couldn’t checkout due to a “Forbidden access” notice with “No available delivery option”. Tested: It doesn’t show up for logged in users, but does for new users who are creating their account during checkout (guest checkout is off).
The css class is “wc-block-components-notices” so it seems to be related to blocks. I don’t use blocks for anything, but had to use them to create the cart/checkout pages for this theme (maybe it would be better if you make a Salient WPBakery wireframe for cart/checkout).
Also having trouble with extremely small fonts, possibly being controlled by font-size: var(-wp-preset-font-size-small,14px). I don’t have any fonts set to 14px in the settings. You might consider making the typography options more user friendly or have a basic setting as a fallback for main body fonts.
Seems like a nice theme and it’s obvious that a lot of hard work was put into it (your willingness to help users through the comments here was a big selling point!) but had to go back to the old theme, at least for now.
Hey codings,
I’m sorry that you ran into a couple of problems. Both of those issues are not known problems within Salient, but I’d be glad to take a closer look at your setup if you’d like to open a ticket on the support forum with your URL.
The WooCommerce cart/checkout blocks are fully handled by WooCommerce – we only provide the styling. Errors like this are often caused by a caching issue, a performance-related plugin setting, or a server configuration interfering with the WooCommerce API. Typically, when issues only occur while logged out, that’s a strong indication that this is the root cause.
The Body font setting in Salient Options Panel > Typography > General Settings should take priority for all body text. Are you seeing the body font not being applied globally, or is it only affecting specific text within the WooCommerce cart/checkout flow?
Kind regards
Thank you for the detailed reply (and if any potential buyers come across this comment thread, don’t my specific site/theme experience it deter you, instead look at the responsiveness of the theme author that you won’t find with most themes on this site).

I will look into this more. Also tested with cache cleared (as well as the customer wouldn’t have had any old cache), and all other plugins deactivated. Longtime WC user, same server config, etc. Issue gone after switching back to old theme and customer was able to finally complete a purchase. It’s the first time having to use blocks for the cart/checkout pages. Would you consider creating some wireframes with WPBakery to fit with the rest of the theme setup flow?

The entire site (sorry for the confusion adding that into the same comment about the checkout stuff. None of the fonts are set to 14px, but there is still 14px text all over the site.
Thank you again for your attention to this and your work on this theme.
Hey codings, thanks for clarifying!
1. You can still opt to use the PHP versions of the cart/checkout in Salient. This might be useful for checking whether the issue is specifically related to WooCommerce blocks—which it sounds like it might be. Here’s the documentation on switching between the block and PHP layouts: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/using-legacy-woocommerce-cart-checkout/2. That’s quite strange, so I’d expect that another CSS rule outside of Salient is causing it. I’d be happy to take a look if you can share the site URL. If you already have a ticket open, feel free to share the ticket ID instead
Cheers
1. That seems to be working. It does not look as good, of course. The checkout you created was one of the selling points to the theme. (I know I already mentioned it, but please consider making it a wireframe instead of block dependent. For users like me who have all the blocks turned off, it messes up the work flow to have to turn blocks back on just for two pages to display correctly.) Any ideas now that the shortcode version is working?
Thank you
I’m glad that fixed it for you! Regarding the font sizing, could you kindly share the website URL or ticket ID so I can take a look?
Cheers
Hey Salient Team, I’m playing with the new Sticky Content Sections in the Tether demo and they look great on desktop. On mobile, though, the images feel a bit small. I understand the size limitations due to the layered sticky behavior, but what’s the best way to make them slightly larger so they’re easier to see on mobile? Thanks!
Hey AkeatsKes!
For that effect, the mobile section height is currently constrained to the same value as the desktop height, which is set by the Section Height option. In the next update, we’ll be adding an option to disable this behavior on mobile only, allowing the height to expand automatically when desired.
Kind regards
Appreciate it. Yeah, I adjusted the desktop height, but it doesn’t correspond well with what’s being shown on mobile. Looking forward to the update when it’s ready. Thank you.
Hey AkeatsKes,
Feel free to reach out via the contact form on my author page if you would like early access to that option
Cheers
Hello, I put short video on the website. How can I fix it to play them automatically on mobile phones? Now I can see play icon button. I checked it on iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Hey CreativePlace,
Are you using a self-hosted video player? If you’re trying to get a video to autoplay on mobile devices, it must not have any audio and must be set to muted.
If you’d like to share your page URL, I’d be happy to take a look at the setup.
Thanks in advance
Hi! After adding a dynamic custom social icon there is no place to manage their visibility in default footer salient settings. Why?
Hey po1nt,
The footer from the theme options is no longer the standard in Salient. Using a Global Section to manage the footer display is the modern approach. We did not create a page builder element that pulls from that theme option, though I’ve noted the suggestion.
Kind regards
Hey A_K,
The selector you’re already using will target the mobile links i.e.
body #slide-out-widget-area .inner .off-canvas-menu-container li a
I can see the family “extrawide-bold” being applied – though it looks like the corresponding font might not be loaded in your site.
Kind regards
Hey, you’re correct. I believe that older font should all be removed now. For some reason, I can’t seem to get that mobile menu font to update!
Hey A_K,
I’m still seeing the font family set to “extrawide-bold” on my end, while the only custom font I see loading is “a-k-m.” You’ll need to update the rule to use a-k-m instead of extrawide-bold.
Specifically, change the following rule (which is currently loading on your site):
body #slide-out-widget-area .inner .off-canvas-menu-container li a {
font-family: extrawide-bold !important;
}
Omg, I didn’t realize I had that CSS in there. Thank you!
I’m glad that I could help, A_K
Hi!
I saw someone else ask a few posts ago on the awesome layout of the “what’s new” mega menu item on your site. Can you show how to add a global section to mega menu?
https://postimg.cc/1g5SMPFVThanks!
Sorry, disregard. I just saw in the menu set up how easy it is to add a global section to mega menu.
Hey mikedubs! I’m glad that you found the answer
Cheers
Hey Salient team,
Happy 2026! Having trouble getting the portfolio element to work—every gallery thumbnail click goes to a 404 Page Not Found instead of the portfolio project. I checked all the Query/Grid icon settings, and while the blog links correctly to its posts, none of the portfolio items link to their project pages. Can you provide some guidance?
Hey lournyc! Happy 2026 to you as well
404 errors on single project pages usually point to a permalink issue. If refreshing your permalinks in Settings → Reading doesn’t fix the problem, it’s likely caused by a page that shares the same slug as the single portfolio permalink. You can resolve this by changing the page to a non-conflicting slug in the Salient Options Panel → Portfolio → Functionality tab.
Kind regards
Hello I’ve just updated from some previous version to the newest one.
And noted one crucial change – unless I am totally wrong.
I’ve been using a yoast breadcrumb code within global section, that lied underneath the nav menu, within that global section in custom css, I’ve written a code for various font sizes and colours.
After update, it seems like those custom css don’t apply at all.
Is it possible that the custom css now only works for that particular global section page and not when it is added/rendered on some other page as a global section it just won’t be applied anymore?
If so, this will be probably very problematic for some, that had relied on that functionality for years and suddenly will have to redo a lot of stuff to make it work and reapply the code.
Hey juvengle,
CSS added to Global Sections should still output wherever the Global Section is rendered on a page. If you’re not seeing that occur, please share the URL in regards so that we can take a look.
Thanks in advance
Is there a way to add a countdown in the wpbakery editor?
Hey raorantes,
We currently don’t provide a native countdown element in Salient.
Kind regards
Hi, just wanted to know how you added this CTA arrow button on drop down? https://imgur.com/a/ZKiCFdW
Hey toolbox101,
That section is built using the page builder and assigned as a global section to function as a mega menu via the Salient Menu Options.
Kind regards
Hi, Hope all is well, Happy New Year! I am having an issue with loafing css. It is random, but theme css doesn’t load sometimes, and I have to refresh the page. I think it has something to do with performance settings, I had this issue before and you fixed it. Thanks!
Hey frankapp! Happy New Year to you as well
Are you using any third-party performance optimization plugins? There are no core theme settings that would cause CSS to fail loading, but this can sometimes happen with third-party optimization or caching plugins.
Could you please share your URL so I can take a look?
Cheers
Hey ThemeNectar, Thanks for always being there for me. I fixed it, it was an issue with Autoptimize plugin. Your works is fabulous.
I’m glad that you were able to get it sorted
Cheers
Dear Salient team,
Happy 2026! Congratulations on the version 18! I have a short question regarding a “linear text layout” i am trying to make in this website https://mvd.emg.mybluehost.me/website_982c9890/work/While in the desktop version everything is perfectly aligned ( i used your new very helpful feature flexbox), when i load the site in smartphones the row with the words (home-work-about) is appearing misaligned.
Many thanks for your time:)
Hey ilias_lois, thanks a lot! Happy 2026 as well!
In the tablet and phone viewports, you can edit the columns to retain their 1/3 column sizing instead of using the default 1/1 (full-width) display: https://ibb.co/15fV2J4
Kind regards
Hi ThemeNectar, hope you’re well. We’re getting an error on our Woocommerce product pages where the Product code, Pack size and RRP is showing up fine on the front end, but the options to edit these have disappeared in the product editor.
When we switch on debug in wp-config, we get this error message: Deprecated: Function WC_Product::get_categories is deprecated since version 3.0! Use wc_get_product_category_list instead. in /home/u668906109/domains/mywebsite.com/public_html/wp-includes/functions.php on line 6131
Is this something you can help with?
Hey Micatuca,
When you disable Salient, do those fields appear again? Have you also checked whether any third-party plugin conflicts could be causing the issue on your end?
Kind regards
Hi ThemeNectar, thanks for coming back to me. We managed to get it fixed, and it looks like a problem with a plugin called Advanced Custom Fields. Thanks again though.
I’m glad that you were able to sort it out, Micatuca
Cheers
Hi, we’re having a bit of an issue with on of the new demo content sections where the mobile responsive text isn’t working properly so its only using the desktop font size on all screens. On the Tether demo it’s the section titled ‘Real stories of growth and productivity’ using a carousel, the responsive text elements within that carousel. I’ve tried to recreate the same section with different settings but all seem to be having the same issue, are you able to help with this?
Cheers
Hey Micatuca,
Have you verified that you’ve removed the Min Font Size which is set by default as 24px in that template? https://ibb.co/sMjB0pY
Kind regards
Thanks for the reply, yeah we have tried removing that and it’s still not allowing a smaller mobile font
Cheers
Since I can’t replicate that locally, can you please open a ticket on the support forum in regards with your URL so that we can follow up?
Thanks in advance
Hi there, love this theme so much. Awesome job. I’ve noticed something that may have been missed in design (?), but when it comes to the fluentforms integration, when I add a text area (not single line) it doesn’t apply any CSS to the textarea boxes. So I have to copy the designs you have done (minimal for example) and manually apply it to the textarea fields. See image without me manually adding anything.
Hey OdinStudio!
Thanks for reporting this. I haven’t been able to replicate it yet with textarea fields. Could you kindly reach out via the contact form on my author page in regards with the page URL so that I can take a look?
Thanks in advance
Is there any way to edit the “Read More” text in the Portfolio Post Loop Builder Settings please? Thanks for any pointers.
Hey velocity_uk,
You can translate the string “Read More” which is contained in the salient-core text domain. Here’s the documentation on translating: https://themenectar.com/docs/salient/translations/
Kind regards
Thanks boss, much obliged!
You’re welcome, velocity_uk
I am using the material theme with the header layout Menu Bar Bottom. I’d like for the logo to disappear on desktop sticky navigation. Is there a way to accomplish this? Or at the very least a way to shrink the logo on sticky?
Hey onetonaden,
If you enable the “Condense Header On Scroll” in the Header Navigation > Animation Effects tab, the “Mobile Only Logo Upload” from the Logo & General Styling tab will be swapped as the logo when scrolling.
Kind regards
Hi I am using mix-blend-mode: difference; css on my hero text and it works great on top of a video background, but I am struggling to get it to work on mobile. Is it possible to make it work on mobile?
Hey ferrousandphoenix, can you share the page URL so that I can take a look?
Thanks in advance
Hero section text on this link: https://markostarcevic.com/
Thank you!
Thanks, ferrousandphoenix :
You can fix that by switching the mix blend mode to the wpb_wrapper like so:
.wpb_wrapper:has(.toptext) {
mix-blend-mode: difference;
}
Kind regards
Anyone got an issue with the favicon on their website? When searching our page on google and bing, the correct favicon won’t show. On Ecosia it’s somehow working. We’ve uploaded our favicon the correct way, even contacted our webhosting service who helped us putting it in the right directory in the wordpress database. None of these steps helped, what would you do?
We’re using the divi child theme.
Hey johschmitz611, the Favicon is handled directly through WordPress in the Customizer and is not something tied to theme options. I’m assuming that you also meant the “Salient” child theme and not “divi”? If you’d like us to take a look at the site, feel free to open a ticket on the support forum in regards
Happy Holidays
Hello, does Salient support WordPress 6.9 yet? Will you add support in the nearest future?
Hey damiang23,
Yes, Salient already supports WordPress 6.9, so everything should work as expected.
Kind regards,
