HI, IMPORTANT!! Issue with update!!
Updating Plugin Docy Core (1/1) Downloading update from https://wordpress-theme.spider-themes.net/resources/docy/docy-core.zip…
An error occurred while updating Docy Core: Download failed. Not Found
Hi,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
The issue with updating the Docy Core plugin has already been identified and fixed from our end. We have updated the resource, so please try updating the plugin again. It should work properly now without any errors.
If you still face any problems, please feel free to contact our support team directly via email, and we will be happy to assist you: spiderthemes247@gmail.com
Thank you for your patience and for notifying us about the issue.
Hi there! After updating to Forumax, the Docy search tabs display “Forumsforum” as a single tab label.
Markup from the tab: Forumsforum . Where could it be coming from?Hi,
Could you please share a screenshot of the issue you’re facing? If you encounter any problems, we recommend contacting our support team directly via email with the details of your issue. Our support email is: spiderthemes247@gmail.com
Thank you for your understanding.
Ok, sending the email but also note:
Dates aren’t rendered in the blog grid content file because they’re nested inside the author conditional. Please separate the date condition so it renders independently, and include the fix in the next update so it doesn’t overwrite the changes we made. meta check first, then author separate from dates.
Also, Forum: reply/topic counts and last activity are inconsistent after the move to Forumax settings. bbPress Recount/Repair doesn’t resolve it reliably. I’ve had to hide incorrect counts with CSS to avoid confusing users.
Hi,
We’ve received your email and have already replied to it. Please check your inbox. From here on, we’ll continue handling all related issues through email so we can track everything properly and provide more accurate assistance.
Thank you for your patience and for taking the time to share these insights.
Hello,
Received your reply asking for site access and videos etc.
You can’t troubleshoot on our site because it is live. Replicate on your demo, it shouldn’t be hard to do.
1. Just check to see if dates appears on your blog grid page. 2. Enable forums as one of your search criteria.
We don’t want custom fixes directly on our site. We just want a less buggy solution out of the box.
Please attempt a real fix. Thanks
Hello,
We want to clarify that we are already in active communication with you via email regarding these matters, and we’ve responded there with details. Please check your inbox so we can keep everything centralized and properly tracked.
Regarding the reported issues, we have thoroughly reviewed them in our own development and demo environments. At this stage, we’re unable to reproduce the behavior you described, specifically the blog post dates not rendering in the grid layout and the forum-related search/tab inconsistencies. We haven’t received similar reports from other users so far.
Since the issues are not reproducible on our end, we kindly ask for your cooperation in helping us better understand the exact conditions under which they occur. A short screen recording demonstrating the problems would be extremely helpful. This would allow us to clearly see the output, context, and configuration involved, enabling us to identify the root cause and work toward a proper, stable fix.
Additionally, regarding the note about dates being “nested inside the author conditional,” we’d appreciate a bit more clarification or a visual reference in the recording. That will help us determine whether this is a theme-level issue or something influenced by specific settings or customizations.
We genuinely want to resolve this properly and deliver a robust, out-of-the-box solution. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. We look forward to continuing this through email.
If you corrected it on your end, you can release an update. I already corrected the code on my end.
... and if you really could not locate the blog dates issue. Turn the author display off and the dates on in your theme settings. Dates will not appear on the grid because it is nested in the author code.
Hi,
Thank you for your detailed explanation and for pointing this out clearly.
We’ve now reproduced the issue in the current Docy version 4.4.0. You are correct: when Author display is disabled, and Post Date is enabled, the date does not appear in the blog archive/grid because the date output is currently nested within the author conditional.
We appreciate you taking the time to identify this and share the exact condition. We’ve documented the issue internally and assigned it to our development team. This will be properly fixed at the theme level so that the post date renders independently of the author setting.
The fix will be included in the next Docy theme update.
Sorry for the earlier misunderstanding, and thank you again for your patience and for helping us improve the theme.
Hi there!
How could you force customers who purchased your premium theme to now have to download additional plugins just to tweak the theme? This is not acceptable.
It’s not just one area either. A lot of the theme styling (and it’s a little buggy, by the way) is now effectively tied to plugin style settings.
If I disable EazyDocs, I lose the styling that should belong to the theme. If I disable the new ForuMax plugin, I lose bbPress styling. That means the theme’s look-and-feel is no longer self-contained, and basic presentation depends on installing and keeping extra plugins active with a lot of pro-upsell configuration.
I bought Docy for the theme: the design system, Elementor integration, TutorLMS support, and bbPress compatibility. I didn’t buy it expecting core styling to be moved out of the theme and into plugins after purchase.
I’m also not using EazyDocs at all. I’m using bbPress and the blog and tutorlms. Yet the only way to keep the intended forum styling now appears to be installing the plugin you’re selling.
Is this shift intentional? If so, why was it done this way? And how can I get a clean theme style without all the other forced installs with upsells?
Also, note that the child theme version 1.0.0 fires the critical notice built into the parent functions update. I had to change it to Version: 4.4.0 to turn it off.
Hi,
Thank you for your detailed feedback and for sharing your concerns.
Docy includes a wide range of features, and our architectural approach has been to keep the core theme as lightweight and performance-focused as possible. For that reason, several feature sets (such as documentation and forum styling enhancements) are provided through companion plugins instead of being hard-coded into the theme itself. This allows customers to enable only the components they actually need and deactivate the rest to avoid unnecessary overhead.
For example, if you are not using the documentation system, you can safely deactivate the EazyDocs plugin. Similarly, extended bbPress styling and forum-related enhancements are handled through the Forumax plugin. This modular structure is intentional and designed to give users flexibility rather than forcing unused features to load globally.
All features shown in the Docy demo are available using the included/free components. Pro versions of plugins are only required for advanced or extended functionality- they are optional and not required to reproduce the base demo design and behavior.
Regarding the child theme notice: Please update the Docy parent theme to the latest version and also update the Forumax plugin on your site. After updating both, the critical notice triggered by the child theme version check should no longer appear.
If you still face any issues after the update, or if you need any further assistance, please feel free to contact our support team directly via email at: spiderthemes247@gmail.com – we’ll be happy to help.
Good generic response, but I would say a theme like buddy boss has the right approach, first the theme and then apply theme styles to compatible plugins not forcing themes to work with plugin styles. Disabling ezdocs disables the theme settings. and the theme settings are also very buggy. We’ve had to generate a ton of code and styling just to make this work for us.
Hello,
The child theme compatibility notice has already been fixed and will be included in the next release. If you need an urgent solution, you can email our support team at spiderthemes247@gmail.com , and we will send you the updated file.
hi, after updating to the last version, i got a message on my dashboard Your site may break or malfunction!
CRITICAL: Immediate Action Required!
Your Docy Child theme is outdated (version 1.0.0). Please update to version 4.4.0 or higher. We have made significant changes to the Forumax plugin, and using an outdated theme will cause compatibility issues and may break your website.
Hi, please update your Docy theme and Docy Core to version 4.4.0, and also update the Forumax and Forumax Pro plugins to the latest version (2.1.0). This warning appears due to version incompatibility, and updating these components will remove the CRITICAL notice and prevent any potential site issues.
After completing the updates, if you still see the notice or face any other problems, please contact us directly at spiderthemes247@gmail.com And we’ll assist you promptly.
I have my theme set to Dark mode but the Preloader is in Light mode
This is jarring to keep going from Dark mode to Light mode
How to get Peloader to be in Dark Mode?
Thanks
Thank you for reporting this issue.
We’ve reviewed it and confirmed the behavior. The fix will be included in the next Docy theme update.
We appreciate your feedback.
Hello, it seems like a recent update of EasyDocs plugin is now directing all existing pages to a “{domain.name}/support/” URL
But I previously had it set to “{domain.name}/docs/” URL, so now all links are returning a page with “Error! We can’t find the page you’re looking for” message
I never had a premium upgrade plan, which now apparently is needed for a custom url like docs.
Is there any way to update all my existing pages and navigation to point to the new /support/ URL structure without having to purchase premium?
For anyone else who might be experiencing this issue, it can be fixed by going to your permalinks page and clicking the “Save Changes” button without having to change anything.

Hi,
Thank you for sharing the WordPress.org support topic. I just wanted to confirm- were you able to resolve the issue after saving the permalinks? Please let us know if the problem has been fixed or if you still need assistance.
Hi,
Is it possible to have role based access.
1. Who can create documentation (Admin Role) 2. Who can modify/edit (Admin Role) 3. Who can view will have 2 roles (Internal/External)
Documentation like coding etc will only be available for internal user role and configuration will be available to all (internal and external).
Is there way to configure this ?
Hi, thanks for your query. In the Docy theme and EazyDocs free version, role-based access is not available. However, the EazyDocs Pro plugin includes a user role feature – you can check the overview here: https://youtu.be/MdXXneJTMaE?si=-zM3JMt9XynJ0yXy
If the Pro version doesn’t fully cover your needs, we also offer custom service to implement your specific requirements.
I uploaded this theme to an existing WordPress multisite and activated it on a subsite that’s mapped to a custom domain. I can’t register the theme yet as my purchase code is invalid for some reason. See one of my posts below. I decide to install required plugins and notice it places the entire multisite in maintenance mode. So all of the other subsites are now offline. Sheer madness! It’s also slow to install these plugins as I’ve been waiting for some minutes. This is on a Plesk VPS which has not shown slowness on any of the sites I have hosted on it. Any responses appreciated.
Nevermind, I refreshed the pages to discover that none of the plugins installed. So I had to install them manually.
Now I’m getting errors trying to activate plugins. In addition this new error just appeared in the network admin dashboard: An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now. Nothing happens when clicking this link. This thing jacked up my multisite?
I see the following when viewing the plugins list on the main site: Docy Core & Spider Elements This plugin cannot be activated because required plugins are missing or inactive.
I’m guessing these plugins can’t be network activated. I did manage to get both Docy Core & Spider Elements installed on the subsite running docy that’s mapped to a custom domain.
Purchase code finally verified!

Thank you for purchasing our theme and for trusting us. Are you still experiencing any issues? If so, please feel free to contact our support team at spiderthemes247@gmail.com .

Purchase code shows as invalid. Already tried to register an account on the support website but have yet to receive any follow up emails. Issues: Child theme is broken and the purchase code shows as invalid after initial purchase. Any responses appreciated.
We have already responded to your previous comment. Please review it.
Just purchased but the docy child theme is broken. The main theme loads fine. I’ve tried to upload this via the uploader and manually uploading, extracting, and moving the child theme to the Themes directory. The child theme appears under Broken each time. Any assistance is appreciated.
Could you please share a screenshot of the error you’re seeing with the child theme? Once you have it, kindly send it to our support team at spiderthemes247@gmail.com And they will assist you further.
I’m upgrading my current theme from version 4.1.2 to 4.1.3, but the navigation menu on my documents page is duplicated. The Docy Child parent theme is missing from the themes section. Please install the “docy” parent theme. I get a warning. When I update the Docy Core plugin, the theme is completely broken. Can you help me fix it? https://prnt.sc/dSEc3OCDpgmg
Please directly contact our support team, they will help you immediately. You can reach them at this email for a fast response: spiderthemes247@gmail.com
Docy seems to load extremely slow first time.. Like 30 seconds. Even happens on your demos. Is this a bug? Sometimes it never loads, the circle never ends…
It’s working fine from our end. Could you please try checking our demo or your site from another network? Sometimes this issue can occur due to a slow or unstable internet connection.
You can also try disabling the preloader to see if that improves the load time. If the issue persists, please share your site URL with us so we can investigate further.

Hi,
We have hosted our documentation website here, We have been having problems with the search functionality, whenever we are searching with a particular keyword or a topic on the search bar, we are not getting the results – here is your reference for the issue – https://prnt.sc/yc594TzixeLk https://prnt.sc/DuaIrhh7nSYCPlease let us know what can be done on this issue.
Hi, I checked your site and searched the keyword “product” — the AJAX results showed the Home page and some Doc pages. I visited the Home page to verify, and found the keyword “product” appears 3 times there. So it seems like the search functionality is working.
Could you please double-check on your end?
If you still need help, feel free to reach out to our support team here: https://helpdesk.spider-themes.net/forums/forum/docy-wordpress/ They’ll be happy to assist you further!Hi,
We want the search option to display results only for pages that have titles containing “Products” — not for pages that merely contain the word “product” as a keyword. For example, we have pages titled Product Fields, Product Operations, Products, etc. When someone searches for “Products”, only these section titles should appear, not all pages that include the word “product” in their content. Showing all the pages will create confusion among the people. Please rectify this
Thank you for sharing your feedback.
The current search feature was designed to show results based on keyword relevance across the content. However, we understand your need to limit results strictly to pages with titles containing the word “Products.”
We do have an alternative solution for this, but it would require custom implementation. If you’re interested in proceeding with this custom feature, please reach out to our team at spiderthemes247@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to assist you further.
Hi Team,
Thank you for your response.
We understand that the current search is based on keyword relevance across the entire content, but after reviewing the behavior in detail (as shown in the video we shared), we noticed that the results are not aligning with our intended use case.
Even though the keyword “Products” exists somewhere in the content of several pages, our expectation is for the search to display only those pages whose titles specifically contain the word “Products”. Displaying results based on partial or hidden content matches leads to a confusing user experience, especially when users are looking for a specific section or page by name.
We would appreciate it if you could review the video demonstration again, which clearly shows this disconnect between expected and actual behavior.
If a custom implementation is required to refine the search logic to filter based on titles only, we are open to discussing the feasibility, scope, and next steps. Please let us know how we can move forward
Thank you for getting back to us. To move forward, please send an email to spiderthemes247@gmail.com with a screenshot of this comment. We’ll be happy to continue the discussion there.
Tried registering to create a support ticket but I am not receiving any email to confirm the account.
