Thanks so much for the best theme ever! I have a feature request for the Nectar Slider. Currently it doesn’t allow for setting the slide headings HTML H1 value, since you can’t set this and if you have many slides, SEO audits report too many H1’s. If you can add the Text Element selector like there is throughout the theme that would be awesome.Thanks again!

If you’re using a semi-recent release of the theme and the Nectar Slider plugin, you can change the header tag to H1–H6 in the element settings on the page where it’s added, using the “Slide Heading Tag” field.
Are you requesting a separate field to control the typography independently of the render tag?

Trying to update the theme using the Envato WP plugin. This used to work, however it does nothing when clicking update. I also updated my token. Is this still the preferred method to updating the theme ? Thanks

Yes, the Envato Market plugin is still the recommended method for keeping Salient up to date. However, if you’re running into an issue with it, you can always update manually for the time being.

Hello, I believe there’s a small bug: when the Nectarslider is enabled into a page, after a while the header logo switches from “default” to “transparent”, whereas it should stay “default”. My page here.
Also, in theme options the Home Slider tab is referring to deprecated slider? Because it doesn’t seem to apply anything.

When a Nectar Slider is the top-level element on the page, it is used to control the light vs. dark state for the transparent header effect. Since all slides appear to be set to use light text, that setting is also applied to the header effect.
If you want to keep dark transparent header text on top of a light-colored slide, you can add another row before the Nectar Slider so it is no longer treated as the top-level element—even a blank row should do the trick.

Thanks for the tip. The problem with an empty row is that it creates a margin. I had temporarely resolved by setting top margin @ -50px but that pulled the slider up. So I set the the row to “hidden” (without really knowing what id means). Does that sound like a good practice to you?
...I believe the “Full Height Row” option for a row containing the slider doesn’t work.

1. It would be best to set the row to a full-width content/background, which will avoid any gap that would otherwise need to be removed.
2. If you want a fullscreen slider, it should be achieved via the Nectar Slider element option “Fullscreen Slider”, with the row Full Height option left off. However, since your row is no longer at the top level, it will exclude the navigation from the full-height calculation. This means you’ll need to add a snippet of CSS to force the desired height:

Hey CreativePlace, The Delay Javascript Execution performance setting is a global option for the theme. It does not apply per row on a page. You would need to toggle the option off if you encounter a compatibility issue with a third-party element.

Hey Fixedman, There are no PHP errors reported on the frontend of that URL, so I recommend checking the PHP error log for any server side issues.
There are also some network warnings visible in the browser console related to a Content Security Policy (CSP) blocking requests to https://s0.wp.com, which WordPress attempts to use for loading certain files. You may want to contact your hosting provider for assistance reviewing or adjusting the server’s CSP configuration.

Are you trying to create separate menus for desktop and mobile, or do you want to display the same menu in the mobile off-canvas menu as on desktop? If you want to use the same menu, you can simply enable the off-canvas menu and assign your menu items to that location. Since that’s not working for you, we would need to take a look at the URL to assist you further.

The easiest way to achieve that would be to enable the theme option “Off Canvas Menu Separate Mobile Menu.” With that enabled, you can add the set of menus you want to display in your mobile menu via the new location titled “Off Canvas Navigation Menu” in Appearance > Menus. This will give you the option to add the Shop item back in.

Is there a class I can add to the Single Portfolio pages to enable the existing ‘Force Transparency On Navigation’ feature. Moving forward, I would rather have this as the default state than having to click the option at the bottom of each Single Portfolio page manually.
(The ‘transparent header to start’ only works when I actively use the Project Header settings – I’m just using the page builder elements and load a default template of content)

You likely still need to update your Salient Demo Importer plugin, as the latest demo sets are included in version 1.8 of the plugin.
The demo importer does not provide the option to select specific pages from a given demo. What you can do is import the demo(s) without selecting the “Theme Option Settings,” and then delete the pages you don’t need. Hi! My debug log is showing an error so I used AI and that’s what it says: “Bug Report: PHP Notice – convert_to_screen() called incorrectly Location: themes/salient/nectar/helpers/dynamic-styles.php
The Issue: A PHP Notice is being triggered on the frontend because wp-admin/includes/template.php is being forcefully included to check for the existence of submit_button(). This causes convert_to_screen() to fire before the admin environment (specifically the WP_Screen class) is initialized.
Error Log Entry:
PHP Notice: Function convert_to_screen(), add_meta_box() was called incorrectly. Likely direct inclusion of wp-admin/includes/template.php in order to use add_meta_box(). Hook the add_meta_box() call into the add_meta_boxes action instead.
The Offending Code Block:

I am writing to report an issue I’ve recently noticed on my website. It seems that the default browser margins are now visible on the layout.
Specifically, there is an 8px white margin on both the left and right sides, which appears to be added by the browser to the element. This wasn’t happening before, so I suspect the CSS “reset” might have been lost or overridden in one of the latest updates.
Could you please check if this is a known bug or if there is a specific setting within the Salient options to restore the full-width layout and remove these margins?

This issue is related to Chrome 145, which changed how vw units behave in relation to the browser scrollbar. We released a fix for this in v18.1.0 on February 13: https://themenectar.com/changelogs/salient.html#18-1-0 . Once you update the theme, the fix will be applied.

Salient allows you to specify different images for different viewports. If you click the phone icon in the background image field, you can remove the demo mobile image.

It looks like you’ve uploaded a full, multi minute video file that’s hundreds of megabytes, rather than an optimized short clip suitable for use as a background video. Background videos generally shouldn’t exceed about 20 seconds, and you should aim to keep the file size under 5 MB for smooth web playback. They’re intended to function as subtle design elements, not full videos, since they don’t include sound or playback controls.

Hello, We are contacting you regarding a common layout issue occurring across multiple WordPress sites built with the Salient theme.
An approximately 11px horizontal gap (white space) appears on both the left and right sides of the browser viewport, causing full-width sections and backgrounds to no longer extend fully to the edges of the screen. This issue occurs consistently across multiple sites, all of which are built using the Salient theme.
Browser: Latest version of Chrome (the issue occurs regardless of login status or incognito mode) When checking via DevTools, we found that the following inline CSS variable is forcibly applied to the #ajax-content-wrap element: —scroll-bar-w: 11px;
Adding the CSS below immediately restores the layout to normal: #ajax-content-wrap {—scroll-bar-w: 0px !important; }
We would appreciate your guidance on whether it is possible to:
- Prevent the—scroll-bar-w value from being injected as a fixed value, or - Calculate it dynamically based on the actual environment, or - Disable this behavior via an option, filter, or setting.

Hi. I’ve been having issues with image with hotspots element. When i set hotspots on an added image, once I close the element, they seem to completely disappear – when I open the element hotspots are neither on the image, nor their descriptions are listed. So, accordingly, they don’t show up in a preview of the page. Also, I was planning to use this feature throughout the site, on 40-50 pages at least. There are no restrictions on the number of hotspots you can use per image.

Before moving forward, I just wanted to ask: If I change the carousel to use more than four columns via your custom CSS, is there any risk of unwanted side effects (mobile etc.)? I’m curious why there is a fixed limit of four columns by default…and if this could really be fixed using only css?
I also wanted to ask if it’s possible to set the Post Loop Builder images to a square (1:1) format.

There’s no risk of it affecting mobile – it can be limited to desktop.
And yes, there’s an option in the Post Loop builder to limit to specific aspect ratios in the genera settings.

Thank you, that sounds good! (I located the aspect ratios) I have two more questions that I would like to know if you will be able to assist with. 1. If I set “no arrow” or pagination on the carousel, is it possible to have the carousell autostart so that it automatically “rolls infintely”? 2. I need to place some text/header/title in the area between the logo and the menu, looking at the “Display silent hooks” there is no option for that there. I also tried the theme options for “text to display in header” but that did not solve this. Gratful for your insights on this before we proceed (we are using the default header navigation layout).

There is no auto rotation functionality for the Post Loop builder. We only offer that through the dedicated Carousel element.
Adding custom text to the header beyond the included theme option for “text to display in header” would require a child theme modification.

You can use a hook such as nectar_before_header_button_list_items
You’ll probably need to write some CSS to position it as needed for your project.
