Hi, any chance of adding pagination to the portfolio? That is the only thing stopping me from buying the theme.

Possibly in a future update. I’ve just ran into issues in the past with creating a good solution to paginating custom post types when custom permalinks are involved.

Trying to get sidebar for blogs. But nothing shows up. I have 4 widgets in page sidebar. Its setup correctly from settings->reading. Also tried with sidebar template on blog page.
There is a widget area called “Blog Sidebar”, that is the correct area to add your widgets to get them to display on the blog

Hi! Very very interested in this theme for my site – only a couple of questions:
1. Is it possible for the portfolio thumbnail to display only the details button, centered on the thumbnail instead of both buttons?
2. Is it possible to style the search area, including the “X” button?
3. Would you be able to assist with those 2 things? (Okay, I lied, three questions.)
1. Yes that is an easy fix, just one line of code. It has actually been requested before and you could probably find it lying around here on a previous page.
2. Yes, anything’s possible if you know CSS.
3. well we’re 50% of the way there already since the answer to item number one is already posted here 
..as for assisting you with item number 2, it really depends on how much you’re looking to modify it.

The X already is a .png so you could easily swamp that, and you could change the font styles of the search bar with CSS.

I have a couple of problems. I have build my website on another domain and than exported it to the current one. The problem I have now is that I can’t change the color in the Salient menu. I have tried changing permissions to the css (both style.css and the css folder) to 755, but nothing. The salient menu says I have selected a color, but my website still shows the standard one (the lightgreen / blue).
Also, the sort portfolio is acting strange. When I click on a sort button all my items disappear.
And my final question: a couple of days ago I asked you how to change the header color of the custom headers (with background image). You supplied a string of code to insert into the custom css-box inside the salient menu. But, unfortunately, it still isn’t working. Perhaps the code was wrong?

Hello, I have an ad widget which kills the entire theme. I’m not sure what is happening, because the ad banner by google adsense is working fine, just not this particular snippet of code from the blog ad company I’m tied to. For some reason the ” Sort Portfolio” in the portfolio page is not working as it should. For example, if I click in ‘ALL”, all projects appear. If I click in “PRINT”, no projects appear, which is very strange since I have assigned 3 projects in the PRINT category. What can I do to resolve this?

What version of the theme are you using? There was a bug in older versions that caused the filters to break if the slug didn’t match the name

there is still a lingering bug that is stopping your items from working because it appears none of your slugs match the category name correctly.
i.e. your branding category slug is “branding” when it should be just “branding”. If you want, I can help you change them all to get you up and running while you wait for the patch the be released

As of now, that style is specific for the portfolio. However I might just go a head and allow you guys to use that wherever in the next update

To import it go to Tools > Import in your WordPress admin panel and browse for the file

You can acquire the latest version by downloading the theme from your downloads tab
To update, deactivate the current version you have of Salient and delete it from your server (unless you have made modifications to the theme files). Then simply upload the new one and you should be good to go!
I like how the menu stays on the top in the browser, but then when it is resized to smaller sizes, it scrolls with the rest of the content. Yes there is an option in the theme options panel to disable the header resize on scroll
Where do I set the point where the theme jumps to the mobile version? This is currently at 1050px. I want customize this point like to 1000px. Problem on the iPad (1024×768 Resolution), with 1050px we see always the Mobile version.

Changing the order of your portfolio items works the same as posts, i.e. they are ordered by the date they were published. To change the order, simply change the date on the project.

That will take care of the remaining hearts you want to eliminate, and you can disable the date from showing on portfolio items in your theme options panel

Hi, I found the problem I was using an older version of the theme (29 March) I have update to the current version and managed to removed the dates. The improvements to the theme are excellent, I look forward to the future updates keep up the great work. 5 stars.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned but when adding large icons, it sometimes goes green on hover (the same green as your demo) instead of the new theme colour.
Also, do you have a scroll back to top update by any chance? longer pages and posts would benefit a lot!

1. Yes, the reason sometimes the large icons do not function correctly is when they get wrapped in extra tags inside the editor. If you are experiencing any malfunctions with them, switch to the text view in your editor and make sure there’s no extra html tags around the icon that shouldn’t be there. Also, I am planning on addressing this thoroughly in the upcoming update, so you could just wait another day to get the fix

I checked your site in chrome on my desktop & laptop running windows 7 and 8 respectively, and don’t see anything wrong. Are you sure your browser/server wasn’t just acting up at the time?
