Hi! It would be fantastic if the supplied icons could be combined in a css sprite to reduce load time. If it’s too complicated to do with all the icons, maybe it can be done with the social icons at least?

The portfolio post type is not set up as an archive in order to give the user custom heading options. Also, I ran into issues in the past with custom post type archives when used in combination with custom permalink slugs.

what exactly is breaking with the theme? I have successfully renamed the theme folder in the past and don’t remember negative effects from doing so.
If I rename the theme folder and upload the theme to my site, it breaks pretty much the entire theme. I rename the theme folder back to ‘salient’, and it all works ok again. It’s not a major issue, but I’d prefer if I could call the folder something less descriptive
Weird, I just tested that and nothing seemed to change. If you want, I could try and look into this further for you if you open a ticket on the support forum.

Just purchased it, but i do really hope there’s integration with common social media buttons like facebook, twitter and pinterest in the future (why just “heart”?)
, plus some users mentioned it before in your forum, that being able to hover and see the image title in the portfolio thumbnails and short description would be great than the hovering option now (which seems quite annoying), or if not you can always include the option of showing the title above or below the work itself and make the thumbnail instantly click-able would make this theme much much more versatile

unfortunately there is no PSD available to download. However, most of the elements are CSS based and the images that are used are all easy to edit png’s

You are using a fairly outdated version of the theme. This problem was actually fixed 2 releases ago

Hi, seems like a nice theme, but before purchasing I would like to ask, is there a way to create columns like “1/6 first, 5/6 last” “1/4 first 3/4 last” and vice versa?
Because when i see in the columns sections in the demo version, the columns seems to be mostly in equal segments, that seems pretty rigid to me….
And are there simple options to add social buttons for facebook, twitter, pinterest, +1 etc? The heart is a nice touchbu it would be wonderful to be able to add more Thanks

2. There might be additional sharing functionality built-in standard in a later release

Nectar shortcodes are no longer working. The thing that I did is rename wp-content folder. I think after that it broke. This is the error message

Note: Found solution in access-wp.php. need to change wp-content to whatever the directory name is.

If you have named wp-content something else, open up themes/salient/nectar/tinymce/shortcode_generator/access-wp.php
and change this line to your new folder name:
$path_to_file = explode( 'wp-content', $absolute_path );

If you’re looking to see if others have had a specific issue, search the support forums
Make sure you are uploading the images at an 800px width, there’s no need to go bigger since that’s the max width of the container. See the demo, there is no fuzziness.
They are 800px and they are a bit fuzzy. When I add the same image to a regular page, it looks fine. Also – how to create an extended portfolio page? I can’t find that anywhere in your documentation. Thanks.

2. Activate the “Extra Content Editor” in the portfolio options tab inside your theme options.

If I activate the extra content editor, will ALL portolio posts have this feature? Also – is it possible to create a regular page and assign it to the portfolio section? Update to the lastest version of the theme, the extra content editor was added in v1.3
And yes, every portfolio item will be given the ability to use it but that doesn’t mean you have to

All you have to do is:
1. Download the theme again from ThemeForest
2. Deactivate the current version you have and delete it (unless you have modified files)
3. Upload the new copy just as you did when you first installed it

Correct, those things are stored in the database and are separate from the theme itself.
Can there only be 6 pieces in a portfolio slider? How can I add more?
Open up the appropriate home template and edit this to be the number you desire:

I just installed, and figured out that letters ä,ö,ü don’t appear properly with the standard fonts from the template.
(And we use them often in german )

Have you checked the “Use Custom Fonts” under Typography options in your theme options panel and chosen to “Include Latin Characters” ? The default fonts loaded with the theme do not have support for extended Latin Chars for simplicity & loading speed purposes. You will need to choose all the fonts you would like to add support to in that options tab

Hi, Is it possible to open a Toggle using a button? I.e. clicking on the button in a pricing table opens up a toggle with a contact form? I’m thinking maybe an anchor link would work but I’m not sure exactly how… Thanks!

That would require some custom JavaScript. You still could have a contact form inside of a toggle and just use the default functionality to allow the user to click the toggle to open it.
Social icons.
Hi there! First of all thank you for the awesome theme! One of the best around! I have a question regarding the social icons at the bottom. Is there an easy way to put some of the icons an the top where the menu and search button are? Or do you plan to put them somewhere more prominent than in the footer? Thanks in advance

Currently there are no plans to move the social icons out of the footer. If you want them in the header menu, you would need to open up the header.php file and add them into the menu manually.

I will need some more details and the browser / setup that you experience this issue on. Is it on every page or specific areas? I have tested on Mac & Window 7 / 8 in Chrome, FireFox, Safari, Opera, IE8/9/10 and haven’t seen this problem.
