Beautiful theme. I’d like to purchase, my only hesitancy is the slider. My client wants something a little more like layer slider. If I purchased would you be able to tell me how to edit the theme’s files in order to use layer slider on the homepage?

Others have asked about swapping the slider too in the support fourm…it shouldn’t be a painful process. You would essentially just remove my slider and insert the function call for whatever slider plugin you wanna go with
Hello! I would like to purchase your theme but have two questions: 1. I’ve never used WordPress before, instead I use dreamweaver and host with godaddy, will I be able to use this template without WP?
2. Is it possible to make the large image on the homepage smaller (height-wise) ?
1. The theme is built to be installed into WordPress, but the good news is WordPress is super easy to use and Godaddy can help you set it up. (you can still edit the files just like you would any other html/php/css/js files inside of dreamweaver and FTP the changes to your server.
2. Yes, the height is user defined in the theme options panel

If you don’t see the option in the portfolio tab inside of the theme options panel then it’s time to update to the latest vesion
Sorry, overlooked that. Is there a way to automatically update the theme without loosing the settings? My wordpress installations tells me that the theme is up-to-date (while it says 1.1 iso 1.3)?

Yes, essentially WordPress doesn’t know what the latest version is because there is no connection between the two. Every time I push an update, I always check the option to notify current users by email and I post a detailed changlog to keep everyone updated. So if you’re ever wondering if there has been an update, just check right on the main theme page or here.
When you do update, all of the settings you had in the options panel will remain because they are actually stored in the database
Hoping to remove the “View Larger” button and “More Details” buttons when rolling over a portfolio item. I wish to replace this with an icon.

It is simply a visual representation of proficiencies in each area. Unfortunately, you can not change it from calculating percent out of 100. But you could easily translate your number of works as a percent and hide the tooltip that says “70%”. You could then have a title above the graph that says something like “Our works throughout the years” and have each bar labeled with the appropriate year “2010, 2011, 2012”
Hi… Thinking of buying… It looks like when I view the site from my iphone 4 that the Twitter YouTube and Facebook links are being cut off a bit on the bottom on the About Team page. Not sure if they need a bit more padding or something. Can you fix this? Thanks

1. Currently the theme only supports one main sortable portfolio page. However, a tutorial for creating specific category based portfolios has already been posted on the support forum
2. Yes, you can simply not assign any of the home templates and you will have a standard page.
3. Yes, this possibly might get added into a future update

Salient looks like it’s a great theme. I’ve been having some issues with another theme regarding ICC profiles and the way images are handled inside of the theme.
For some reason, the thumbnails on the other theme are being given different ICC profiles than the originals, which is resulting in the images being displayed incorrectly.
Before purchasing this theme, I need to know if the same issue may arise when using this theme. I need to make sure all images will be displayed correctly as I will be using this site to display my photography.

That would be awesome! What would be the best way to get an image to you? Will I be able to see the test example? One of the issues from before was also highlighted with different screen calibrations, so if I could check it out and view it on a couple of my computers it would be great!

Hi, I love your theme, but I really need a way on the portfolio page to display which filter is active/displaying. Right now it’s just a drop down that doesn’t indicate what you are currently seeing.
Is there a way to change the code to display the filter name. Maybe even getting rid of the dropdown/hover menu and just displaying the category titles like a nav menu? That would be great!

As long as you’re using the most recent version of the theme, updating the .po file will correctly translate the theme. You can use a plugin like this to handle the translating directly in the admin panel
