Is there a way to move the slider caption text vertically? For some images it would be good to be able to adjust the caption placement.
Also, can you make the whole slider image link to a page and not have any caption text?

1. You’d have to create specific CSS rules to target each slide and adjust their position if you need to.
Hey Nectar,
The button for the home slider only has a transparent background. How can I change it to a solid color? All my slider photos have light backgrounds and the button disappears with the white frame.

I am trying to use medium buttons as a sub site navigation on my site (by placing it in a 1/4 column). However, I cannot get them to display vertically properly. When I press enter to create a line break in the editor nothing happens, if I press enter twice, theres to large a gap. I’ve also tried with using a
tag with no success. Any hints on how to position them nicely on top of each other?

Question: I would want to use the theme purely as a blog – is it possible to automatically pull a few ‘featured’ posts into the homepage slider? If not, do you plan to add this functionality?
Hey rikwuts! As of now you’d have to manually enter your slides into the slider. It’s possible I might add something like you’ve suggested in the future but as of now there are no plans to.

HI, Am having a problem after the update. My portfolio items show up on the portfolio page and home page, but when clicking details I get either a 404 error or a redirect error. When I set the permalinks to default everything works, but I am unable to get it to work with any custom permalink such as name. Any ideas?

So I would ideally need you to post a private ticket on the support forum with your credentials to be able to see what’s happening. I checked your URL, but you have the default permalinks active so everything works.
Also, I was looking at your videos and trying to create a gallery. But I don’t have the option create a gallery slider under Project Configuration. Can you please advise?

As the note at the beginning of the video states, “This video tutorial series is based on Salient v1.5 & WordPress 3.6. If you are using older versions, your user interface and some theme features will be different. “
The new interface seen in the tutorial is only active when you’re using WP 3.6. If your still using 3.5, you must add galleries to your portfolio items by uploading featured images (there’s six slots).
Silly question, but is there a quick way to upgrade to 3.6? Thanks again!
You can download the beta now anytime and manually install it, but you won’t be able to do the one-click upgrade until the official version is released. (here’s the beta link) WordPress was supposed to release the official 3.6 a bit ago, but have since got behind on their schedule

Great theme, is it possible to have a background colour instead of an image, here for example:

You could set the background color with CSS if you prefer that instead. Paste this in your Custom CSS box and play around with it.

Also if you need it page specific, you have prepend the selector with you body id for any given page. e.g.

This almost worked. The problem is if you don’t assign a header to the page then the template doesn’t output the div tags, so any css isn’t shown.
I have found a temporary way round this, that is to assign a 1px by 1px transparent PNG, the background colour then added in the CSS is output.

Hello, I wanted to let you know I love the theme. It is working great. Installed your new update this morning. If I may, if you ever install another update it would be great it the portfolio thumbnails could be vertical. I am an author and I have had to add blank space to the book covers to make them fit in the portfolio. It works, but just a little off. Thanks

Hey pheethemc, thanks for purchasing the theme! There’s no bug, you just need to put “http://” in your URLs otherwise it will be assumed as a relative link within your site and not an external link

On the Single-Portfolio page, how can I display the Featured Image + Second Image, Third Image etc, Vertically on the page, rather than in a galley as it is?
