Hi I have one question before I buy this theme:
I will need to be able to change the links in the top nav menu… Is this possible? For example, I would change “Portfolio” to Gallery and “About” to Services. Can this be done via WordPress and if not, how hard would you say it would be to change the code to do so and not break the backend system to still be able to add images to the renamed gallery page? I’m a web developer so I know my way around code but I don’t want to jump into anything that will break the backend if I rename any of the links in the top menu.

First let me say it’s a really neat theme. we’re building a portfolio site with it and it makes it look slick. great job!!
I ran into a couple of issues, and i think if you answer them it might help others too.
1. How do I display an embedded video as well as a gallery slider(in extended content) in a portfolio post.
2. when I display an embedded video, on load the page refreshes twice while the elements align correctly. Is this normal or is it an issue with the dimensions in the embed code?
3. Is there support for lightbox in the gallery slider? if not, please try to include it in the future.

1a. You can embed your video right into the extended content editor, you just need to make sure it’s being inserted into the text tab or else it won’t work.
1b. You can only have one gallery slider per portfolio item and it will display on the top of your more details page based upon what images you have inserted into the gallery.
2. Please supply me with a url where this occurs so I can verify it’s normal behavior
3. There’s no default support for this yet but I will note to include it on the wishlist!

1a. that worked. now we have the slider on top and the embedded video below it.
1b. being a video portfolio we wanted to display the video on top and some stills in the slider below it. for now we’ll stick to the slider on top of the embedded video or insert images in columns below the embedded video, unless you have some tricks up your sleeve to swap these two.
2. the site is in maintenance mode currently since we are building the content. will get back to you if this persists. I could send you a login id through pm if you’re ok with that.
3. thanks for noting that down. the reason we asked is because navigating away from the page to look at an image is frustrating for some.

1b. I understand your want for this. If you wanted to do it you would need to edit the single-porfolio.php file. There’s a few steps involved with this but the gist of the modification would be moving the featured video check to its own conditional statment above the gallery so that they could both populate on the page and also have the correct order for you.

1. If you would like to upload custom icons you would have to create a font out of your vectors using http://icomoon.io/app/#browse and add them to the theme.

You can’t change the media player back to thew old one unless you downgrade to WP 3.5. The new media player is the built in WordPress one (WordPress added it into the core) so all themes will and should use that one from now on.
Ohhh. I mean I’m using 3.5 now, I’ve uploaded the new version of the theme 2 days ago since I saw in the preview on here that the video player is different and better. So I guess I need 3.6 for the new video player?

Hey aomphantom, when your window height is larger than you page content, it’s normal to see extra space on the bottom. I will look into providing a safety net for this scenario though in the next update

How can I get different colors for the caption text for the home slider.

You can find the rules relating to that inside of the main stylesheet (style.css) inside of the css folder. Search for ”#featured article .post-title h2 span” to find the rule, it should be around line 1670. You’ll have to alter to background color and box shadow properties to change the color
I completed that but is there any way to insert an h3 property in the slider to?
You could insert it right into the slider caption input field however you would then need to style it accordingly to get it to work.

2. many users use it without complaints, but I have not rigorously tested it enough o claim 100% guaranteed no issues.
3. There’s no options to center your logo at this time.
4. There’s a twitter sharing button and twitter social url icon but no integrated twitter stream if that’s what you’re asking.

I’m having issues with the Nectar Shortcodes, if I choose a shortcode that has more fields than fit in the initial pop-over, the “submit” button is no longer visible.
I tried Chrome, Firefox and Safari and the issue seems to be the same across the different browsers.
Any suggestions?

there should be a scrollbar in the window to scroll down to where the submit button is. If you don’t have a scrollbar in the shortcode popup when the content is larger than the window, then please open a ticket with your info so I can check it out for myself

There is another issue that popped up that you might be able to help with. In your full screen preview, you show a tablet mockup that touches the blue full width section, I can’t seem to get that to work. There always seems some padding in between. Do you have any idea why that might be? (Even if I set the padding to 0)
If you post your URL containing this I will better be able to help you. In regular circumstances, if you set the bottom padding to 0 on a fullwidth section, there should be no extra space.

The theme does automatically generate titles based on the page including the home and posts..I assume they are referring to the absence of an input field to enter in your own custom seo titles? I have purposely left these out because rather than trying to be the jack of all trades, it makes more sense in my eyes to just let the user install a plugin like Yoast or All in on SEO to handle such tasks

1. The is an option for a secondary menu which will remain on every page. So essentially you could create a menu item of a phone number and link it where you need.
2. Yes, the code is all written with semantics in mind.

1. You just need to assign a page as your posts page in settings > reading and then select that layout in the blog options tab in your theme options panel.
2. Open up the style.css file and run a search for ”#featured article .post-title h2 span” to end up at the relevant rule

The home slider is always going to be fullwidth unless you modify other things such as the slider navigation positioning to work with a smaller width. You can find the rules that set it to 100% width inside of the orbit.css stylehseet located in the css folder
- Wasn’t able to figure it out I changed / tested width px & % but know luck. Maybe when you get a chance I know that this site has a smaller width for the home-slider http://thisisboss.com/.
- I also was wondering about images in posts they auto re-size to a large image where do you changed the settings in the dashboard or the css? and stop the featured image from showing in the post when set?
- suggestion for upcoming version I think the font for body looks best at size-17px, line-height 28px, OpenSanslight… This is a golden rule typology recommendation for this content width. Have a look at my privacy policy to see this setting – http://neuic.com
