1. Yes, you can place as many fullwdith sections as you want
2. It would work to an extent, but I would not recommend it since it won’t contain any of the nectar shortcodes to work with so I can’t see it being that useful.
how do you make a 2 column portfolio post? Example, on the recent projects i want it to display 3 groups of 2?

This would require modification of the shortcode markup. You can find the code to edit inside of the shortcode-processing.php file located in the nectar/tinymce folder. Just search for “recent projects” to end up at the right place in the file

Yes you can There is an interface to select what categories appear in different portfolio pages so you can have multiple unique portfolios.
I found a bug in latest version. When you have the WPML plugin with a flag on the top menu, it just dissapear inside the portfolio items.
The flag dropdown will only appear on pages that have active translations, have you translated your portfolio items as well? If so then it must be a bug and I’ll not to investigate
is true i didnt translate our portfolio items, BUT should at least show the spanish button instead of NONE.
I believe that’s just how WPML works – I don’t think it’s Salient stopping the selector from displaying.

Unfortunately there’s no easy way to add icons in and get the hover effects Salient brings. However, you can easily add icon images as I’ve demonstrated in the about extended page in the demo.
Are those icons (in the about extended) just images that you’ve added in and placed in the center of the text? Or is there a specific way to create them? Those icons are actually why I’m wondering if this is possible, ha! Looks great.
They are indeed just images I placed inside of my column shortcodes. You can check the setup for yourself if you import the latest dummy data file!

Just wondering if you have a youtube channel or somewhere you post demo videos. I downloaded the theme and am wondering if there’s something I forgot to install. For instance, on the features page it looks like theres a place to choose icons to use, but I’m having trouble finding where to go to find it.

I bought the Salient template about a month ago & am very very happy with it. I’m trying to implement some social networking features and am trying to minimize my development work. I’ve tried the buddypress and wp-symposium plugins but both seem to have some style compatability issues. Could you recommend any plugins, or would you advise to do custom development?

Also, I can’t seem to get the See-Through buttons shortcode to work, it defaults back to Accent-Color (I downloaded v1.9 today and wanted to test the new features)
I thought I’d also mention that the for milestone shortcode, the animated number comes out very small, like paragraph size, maybe I’m missing something?

I can see that the new rules for these elements are not located in your stylesheet as they should be. Did you either upgrade manually and forget to overwrite that file or is your old stylesheet possibly cached on your server from something?
I have a child theme but I am not using it currently, is it possible that the child theme may have cached the old stylesheet?
I’ve just reuploaded the new stylesheet to the server, no luck
The child theme should not effect it. If you’re still not getting the new rules, please open a ticket on the support forum with your login credentials so I can verify your setup for you

You can deactivate all of the social sharing buttons on the portfolio and blog sections right inside of theme options panel. Also, if you’re interested in hiding the “love” button see this ticket in regards:

One more questions. For the portfolio thumbnails, is it possible to change the options on the rollover ? Instead of having “Watch Video” & “More Details”, just change to have one choice “See full project” ?
And as an option, make the thumbnail a button ?

Yes, you would need to edit the files according though. Open the page-portfolio.php file and remove edit this line to change the wording into See Full Project

prashant179, I will try and add another tutorial demonstrating that step by step, but I think i I explain it a little more you’ll understand it now
All you need to do is deactivate your current version of Salient in the Appearance > Themes tab by activating any other theme you have. e.g. Twenty Twelve etc. Once you have another theme active, you’ll have the option to delete your current version of Salient. Delete it and then simply upload it the same way you did when you first installed the theme. You won’t lose any of your content

was going to ask the same q as @pixelConcepts & @prashant179.
Since I just purchased the theme before the new update, and did only a few modifications to it, I thought I would just “upload” the new theme. But an error msg appears saying that the theme has failed installation.
it says the “Destination folder already exists”
Wowzers, 3 of the same question in a row! There are instructions on updating inside of the included user guide at the bottom. You just need to delete the current version you have on your server before uploading the new one. All of your content will be safe – it’s stored in the database not the theme so don’t worry!

no RTL support and it would take a bit of development.
Every update, I’m enjoying more and more about this theme! I will suggest more animations for images and you could add animation for texts too!

Yes, the next update will certainly contain more animations – I was actually only going to initially have 1.9 be a bug fix release, but I ended up throwing the Milestone shortcode just to hold you guys over with something new until the next version

1. If you’re talking about the single post page, no you would have to add them in.
2. Yes with a custom css snippet I could provide.
3. If you want to have a fixed width sidebar, you would need to disable the responsiveness of the theme so it doesn’t change with screen size
