I have a question. In one of my portfolio items, I am using the extra content editor to stack some images. I want the last item to be a youtube video. Where do I put in the embed code?
Hey karan! You can place your embed code right inside of the editor as well after the images. Just make sure you do so in the text tab on your editor rather than the visual tab.

Hey squishyfox! Unfortunately that would take a bit of custom development because if you just removed the background color from the header, the page headers with background images and the home slider wouldn’t be in the right position.

Tried looking through the colour.php file – where the reference occurrs six times but I’m i bit too scared as I don’t want to wreak everything

I feel crazy for asking for features on such an amazing theme. I LOVE THIS THEME. BY FAR MY FAVORITE ON THEMEFOREST EVER! ...but…would there be a way to integrate a WYSIWYG page builder into the theme. Sitegrounds page builder is nice just because it offers a draggable width editor for columns. (Visual composer and Pixgridder Pro are wonderful as well). I recognize how huge a request this is but the other page builders that I have tried don’t really let you utilize all the features you have created for this theme specifically the full width background elements. The theme “Enfold” has an implementation of a full width background with a WYSIWYG page builder enclosed in it that might be a good rubric to look at.

In regards to your request – I have considered integrating a page builder, but can not say whether it will come into fruition or when it might be. Right now I have been focusing on other features and new ideas but I appreciate the request and will take it into consideration!

First of all it is very cool designed template. After spending days looking for a template I found very close to what I want. I have two preorder questions.
-Is it possible to have some sort of a toogle-accordion type of a function to hide/show comments and leave message tables. I want visitors to click and see those stuff if they need to otherwise pages becomes very long.
-Is it possible to have auto image slide option for a portfolio page, and full length image type of layout option

1. Yes, but this would require some custom modification of the files to add the toggle markup around the comment section.
2. Yes you could also have autorotate with a little modification to the js file. If you mean full width by full length as in no sidebar, you’d just have to remove the sidebar div

I’m having a slightly major issue with woocommerce. The cart seems to be tied to the IP, not the user account. If I log in using different accounts from the same computer, I keep getting the same cart pop up, even when i’m not logged in to any account. Any work around?

The ajax cart I made uses the standard WooCommerce functions/method to populate what’s in the cart. If I’m not mistaken, WooCommerce uses cookies or sessions to hold what’s in the cart not an IP address, but either way – this is not a problem of Salient specifically but rather the plugin itself. I would pose this on the WooCommerce forums.

2. What exactly do you mean? I’ve never heard a report of such a bug so please be more specific so I can help you. Are you talking about the portfolio gallery slider?
3. There are actually two ways you can shorten text on the main page, as I do in the demo. (Both are standard built in WordPress methods). First way would be to use a “more” tag: http://themenectar.ticksy.com/ticket/67451/search/ and the second way would be to use the excerpt box.
4. I’ll need references to which elements exactly, but it would be more appropriate if you used the support forum

I created a portfolio item with a gallery of 2 images. How do I get the 2 image thumbnails to disappear from the sidebar?
Ahh it’s my Justified Image Grid gallery plugin causing the issue. Is this theme not really compatible with it?

It’s most likely just hijacking the class of the gallery you inserted thus breaking what Salient is looking for to correctly turn it into a slider and not the standard grid gallery.
Well the slider was working fine but I was getting the same 2 thumbnails additionally on the sidebar. I turned off that automatic option to have the plugin take over. Whenever I need it I can just use its shortcodes.

you would have to manually call the Rev slider function in the theme files where you wanted it.

Not sure what’s going on, but when I try to insert icons, the only color they will take on is the primary accent color. I’ve tried different using different sized icons, but they always turn up blue. Is this a bug, or did I mess something up in the styles?

All of the accent colors should work on every icon except size “tiny” that one was meant to stay the same color as the text. If yours are not taking the color it sounds like you’ve done something wrong while modifying files. Can you please verify that they don’t work when using a fresh copy of the theme?

I did, it is at http://testing.crushmarketinginc.com The first icon is accent color blue and showing correctly. The second is extra color 1 and should be orange. The third is tiny and showing up as expected.
What version of the theme is that? It doesn’t appear to be v1.9 and if you’re on an old enough version, that would explain your bug.

Love the theme. I am not very technical. If I change the fields on the contact form does it automatically pick up the existing formatting, or is there something else that I need to do?

2- The top menu (when available) is not looking very nice on the iPhone
3- I was forced to edit the file style.css because the CSS field from theme section don’t work very well. Changes were not done, even with !important tag
Also found an error, the theme is calling a file that doesn’t exist in wp-content. Something about mini.map.something….

1. I don’t know what you mean exactly. You can place icons wherever you want and I have various demonstrations of this in the dummy-data file.
2. Also a little confused here. What do you mean “when available”? The main site header should always be at the top of every page on mobile and look exactly as it does on the demo.
3. I supply more than 5 snippets for buyers to use there everyday and have not encountered a case where the box doesn’t work. Maybe the rules you were trying to overwrite already had an !important on them so you would have needed to make them more specific to override. Or maybe you used the direct child ”>” selector which is not allowed in the box. You can always use a child theme for such modifications if you’re doing major css editing.
4. You’ll have to show me the exact error because I don’t know what mini.map is.
5. Yes of course! If you’ve followed the changelog I release an update every couple of weeks

I would really like to ask you if you could help me with the following: I have a form made with formidable pro which uploads a file and adds text to a portfolio post.
For some reason (ignorance mostly) I can not find the correct field in which to save the ‘project category’ and / nor ‘project attributes’. Formidable Pro lets me choose “custom fields” in which to save, but whatever I try; I keep getting portfolio items that have no category (but are shown, though not filterable) and the nice attribute is also not showing.
I tried $project_categories, $project_cats and a million other ones, but seem not to be able to reach the right fields…. Could you please help me a little with this ?
An addition to my problem, i setup two radio button forms to select the correct category and attributes. I have the option to use the title of the category in the form or use a separate value (in the radio button) to save, which could be the rewritten slug of the cat or attribute. which value should i save to have it read by the portfolio page?
If i have the answer to the first question, i would be able to find out the radio buttons value.

I have question/case… When I’m trying to play video on slider.. after clicking the slider still playing and change slide. Should stop on current playing video, shouldn’t?

Hey muszuu,
if you wish to have the slider stop rotating when playing your video, you need to use a self hosted video. I can not bind events to external iframe embeds so it will only work when using the WordPress player.
