I am using this theme primarily to show off different dresses categorized into their specific brands. This includes over 100 dresses being displayed and takes a while to load all of them on one page. I tried resorting to the pagination method, but when doing this, it only shows the specific brands that are on that specific page…
What I’m wondering is if there is a way to categorize these dresses into their specific brand right on the main portfolio page. Instead of loading over 100 items, it would only load 15-20 for that specific designer, resulting in shorter load times.
Please get back to me when possible. I believe this can be done with some customization to the theme. If you could guide me on how to achieve this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that would require some custom development. Essentially, the portfolio sortable would have to make ajax requests and populate the list on the fly. Since microlancer just started offering small WordPress customization gigs I would recommend you head on over there and have someone wrap this up for you in a couple hours

Are you asking if a full width section can essentially break out of a the boxed layout?
I don’t think so. More if a full width section could cut away the (in this case) white box to reveal the background image shown either side of the boxed layout.
It wouldn’t really be possible without custom development I’m afraid.

I believe WPML just places it there automatically. In order to move it you might need to call it manually in the code where you desire.

By the way I don’t know why this theme is loadin weird from iPhone. Just before it’s completely loaded you can see a big and bold vertical line at the right side of the screen!

What do you use to convert your videos to M4V and OGV Files? I uploaded MP4 files, but I can’t see some of them on my iPad and iPhone.

All of your self hosted videos should work as long as you supply both file types. It’s not one or the other for this option. For the demo I used online converts such as: http://video.online-convert.com/convert-to-ogg

thanks for the link for the .ogg files, but how do you convert to m4v? I can’t find that option anywhere.
If you already are using an mp4 I would suggest contue to stay in that format as it’s supported the same as m4v. I’m actually using it in a few places on the demo
Cool. I created the .ogv files and I can view them in all browsers on my mac pro, but on my mobile devices (iPhone and iPad) i can hear the sound and the see the timeline scrubbing, but the video never shows.

I just checked your portfolio and tested out one of your videos on my galaxy s4 and an iPhone 5 and can see the playback on both devices.
I’m still not able to see the videos and my blog is rendering a blank page.
1. Kind of at a stand still with this issue at the moment since they work fine on the mobile devices I’ve checked on and you seem to be the only one experiencing this as it has not been reported from another buyer.

1. You could technically use any slider you want as long as you are comfortable with editing the theme files to implement it in the same way you would in any other scenario.
2. You can indeed both remove the map and change the width of form

I would like to have 3 boxes ( a latest Blog (eg, http://www.humaan.com.au/) , Twitter reel (eg. http://www.cloud-distribution.com/), and subscribe form) just under the slider on the home page. I am thinking of using the boxes from your columns page, http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/features/columns/ which is very similar to the boxes from Humaan website. So, can I put those three content (a latest blog, twitter reel and subscribe form) in the boxes?

You can place anything you like in the boxed columns However, you’ll need to use plugins for the twitter reel and subscribe form as there is no functionality built in to the theme to do those things. Also, the recent posts shortcode is meant to show three posts in columns (it’s supposed to be used on its own row) so you might need to tweak the css a little for it to fit inside of a single column.

Hi Nectar. I have been working on the theme and enjoying it. I have managed to make three boxes on the home page and I am struggling to have a post on the first box as you can see here, http://www.short-breaksuk.co.uk/cloudtexo/ . I just made only one post on a category so it shows one but it doesn’t go right as portfolio one as you can see on the link. When I tried Portfolio, it fit in the box. Is there any way to have particular post may be by ID ? and How to edit css for the post box (the first one)?

Thura, this would only be possible with custom development unforately. You would need to edit the header.php file to show the boxed layout with a new conditional i.e. your post id

Hi Nectar, I hope you don’t mind me asking a couple of more questions. This is what I have done so far on the site, http://www.short-breaksuk.co.uk/cloudtexo/ . On the top nav menu, there are arrows next to the text link which shows that there is drop down menu for instance: ‘ABOUT’, ‘SOLUTIONS’, Is it possible to take the arrows off so that the space will be the same between the buttons. I am not sure it will be okay for mobile version.
The other thing is that the size(height) of header area is higher than it should be there because of the logo height. I don’t want to make the logo smaller but the height of the header/top bar smaller ( Basically the top and bottom space of the logo). Is there any way I can do something in CSS? Please suggest.

Firstly, this is what I have been developing on your theme so far, http://www.short-breaksuk.co.uk/cloudtexo In the individual blog page, eg: http://www.short-breaksuk.co.uk/cloudtexo/costs-of-repairs-or-data-recovery/ , at the moment, we only have Twitter share button there.I would like to get Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Plus share button/features for each blog if possible (noticed that icons are in the img>icons folder) so may be it is possible to change icon images to original ones/logo(I think). If we can have ‘share’ button as well, that will be great but it might be difficult tho I don’t know. 1. You would have to edit the theme file single.php directly and manually replace the list items where I have the built in sharing items with your own.
2. You would have to set a background image on the slider that contained your text. You can do that with the css snippet:

You’re not going to be able to get it to display as an option in the options panel you essentially need to remove the conditional all together so that it becomes hardcoded. You take out the if statement and place you social sharing code there so it shows up

Hi Nectar, It’s Thura again, I firstly want to say sorry to bother you. I know this has been a while. Regarding about a latest post to display on the home page, please see here (http://cloudtexo.com/). At the moment, there is a Welcome post from Blog category. When I add another post with the same category name, it display on the home page as well (eg. if I have two post in the same category, there are two posts showing on the home page content box). So, there will have so may posts in there and look untidy. We only need to use one category which is fine. I hope you know what I mean. We only want just a single latest post there if possible. As far as I remember, you suggested that header.php need to be editing in custom development which I can not do. So, would it be possible for you to do it for me as a favour and I will like to make some payment for thank you if you don’t mind me saying that. Please suggest.

Hi Nectar, Happy New Year to you first of all and I am back here again. I just have an issue in sharing post url on linked in page. The linked in share doesn’t load any information about the post. Just the main URL of the website. When I test the other wordpress site, it loads the relevant post info. When I use the linked in share button from the website, it has the same issue. It only bring the main url of the site. I deactivated some other plug ins and tried but it still didn’t work. Therefore, I was wondering is it something to do with the theme? If you have any idea how to sort this, please educate me.

As far as I know LinkedIn can be sparatic with picking up open graph tags – http://developer.linkedin.com/forum/share-button-not-reading-open-graph-metatags?page=2
However, something to try would be to open up the functions.php file and remove the default theme open graph tags by deleting this line near the bottom:
add_action( 'wp_head', 'add_opengraph', 5 );
and then using a plugin like this to have control over them: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-open-graph/
Apparently from that forum post I referenced for you, there’s talk of LinkedIn caching open graph data from sites for a week at a time, so unfortunately you would have to wait a little after doing that to see if it helped.

That function exists in the bottom of the functions.php which is located in the theme itself – if you don’t see it than you’re most likely on an outdated version before it was even added. Because of it, there’s nothing in the way of that plugin from working correctly. As that LinkedIn forum discussion mentions open graph data does work consistently even when there’s seemingly no issue. The developers also commented say they were aware of this and going to fix it but apparently didn’t yet..

Hey mzuker! You should be fine to use SSL ,yes. However if you use SSL on the entire site on every page for whatever reason, there might be a quirk or two. I’ll be looking more into that and will address any bugs I find in the next release.

Hi There, cudos on this Theme! I’m loving it 100%! Question though;
I have a lot of (sf-) menu items: 8 to be excact. Responsiveness is super, however, when in landscape orientation on an iPad the menu gets mixed up and the menu items get thrown underneath each other. This really messes up the useability! There’s simply not enough room for 8 menu-items.

Hey markiti, what version are you on? The text in the home and page header should indeed center on iPad landscape just the same as it does in the demo. Also I just tested the parallax header with the contact page template and it also seems to work without problems.
Hi, I’m on version 1.8 of the Theme and 3.6 WP! With the parallax I mean when you choose the Contact template and choose Parallax with the FULLWIDTH section. BTW, it only doesn’t work in CHROME.
Oh I see now, yeah you can’t place full width sections next to certain elements because chrome bugs out. It’s a browser level bug, but the only other area I’m aware of this of is the home slider when using videos in it because of the use of fixed position.
I See that’s version 1.9 is out. Is there a way to update that doesn’t mess up my changes to the css besides excluding the file when uploading with ftp? Btw, totally in love with this theme!
Is it possible to make a slideshow in a page the same way as in a portfolio item? The extra checkbox at the bottom of the page?

If you’ve made custom additions to the stylesheet itself, you’ll have to make a backup copy of that and then reapply them into the updated theme. Going forward you should use a child theme if you plan on editing or adding to any of the files in the theme for an easy update transition!
Also, it is not now but will in the next update!
It’s me again! I updated WORDPRESS to 3.6.1 Now when I click on the ‘view larger’ button that appears over a recent post/portfolio when hovering the Preview is all messed up. Is this a known problem that you know off?

I’m sorry, I have one question left: So I moved the Wordpress installation from my /wordpress/ folder to the root! (only index.php & .htaccess) Everything seems to work fine except the SHOW ALL POSTS line (in dutch: BEKIJK ALLE BERICHTEN)

Your font awesome file is not the 2.0 one – either that file is hard cached on your server from a caching plugin like w3 or you failed you update all the files when switching to 2.0

Yes the same way. It’s like the pixel bug and then it goes fine.
Are you looking on the site in Safari? If so, that’s a browser level bug with resizing images. It works fine in Firefox, Chrome and IE..but if it bothers you, you can always disable the effect in the options panel in the header options tab
A pre-sale question: how easy is it to change the size of the font in the posts? I find the size to be a bit too small (would prefer something around 16px for standard reading).

Hey karan! You can place your embed code right inside of the editor as well after the images. Just make sure you do so in the text tab on your editor rather than the visual tab.
