Love this theme!! Saving me a bundle of time for our movie website. Quick question, how can I change the inline CSS for the nectar slider caption line height? I would like the lines to be closer together but you have inline CSS I can’t over rule. Where can I change that?

Great theme, but in terms of smartphone android (S3) on the firefox browser it loads but you cannot seem to click anything including the main menu dropdown?

Hey KasimL! I just checked on my S4 on all mobile browsers (firefox, chrome & native) and can’t see the behavior you speak of. I’ll have to get my hands on an S3 to check it out and see if I can replicate it, but I can say that before I upgraded to my S4 about a month ago I did test on an S2 all the time so I am confused why the S3 in particular would yield bad results. In any regards, I take bugs like this seriously and will let you know if I find anything!

On second thought KasimL, I need to check that you’re not viewing the iframe version of the site right? That is not going to work on mobile – you need to access the direct url of the demo on your mobile device to have the responsive css & javascript kick in http://themenectar.com/demo/salient

Thanks for that it works alot better now but still tends to glitch a little when you try to filter the portfolio and manually close the filter box.
Also is there any way the portfolio filter can collapse automatically once you click a particular option i.e Print – Is it possible to make this happen on all platforms (Desktop/tablet/mobile)?
Also is it possible to have the filter as text links above the portfolio instead of in a dropdown menu?
And finally is it possible to switch off the portfolio image box dates and loves?
Ready to buy after these possible amends..

1. The event would need to be changed to make it auto close, but I’ll look into this for the next update.
2. This would require custom css at this point.
3. Yes, you can use the alternative style and hide the date in the options panel.

Great theme, but berfore purchase i want to ask about “landing page” did theme support this? is possible to creat landing page? It’s like page with unique url but in this page you can see menu opttion, just logotype only.

Is there a way to reduce the number of items in the “Archives” footer widget? I have Archives as one of my footer widgets, and it is displaying all 8 months (Feb – Sep) in a list.
Is there a way to reduce the max number of Months displayed in the Archives footer? I would like to be able to select the number of months to display under “Archives” in the footer.
This functionality is available for my recent posts footer widget. Is there a work around or way to duplicate this on the Archives section?

By default the WordPress archive widget does not allow you to specify a range like that – you would need to grab a plugin which I’m sure exists out there that gives you the control you want

Hey GodsHiron! I’ve actually never tested with IDEAL only WooCommerce is officially supported with Salient at this time so I can not say if there will be any additional work you would need to do or not to have IDEAL function 100%.

Hi, been searching through the themeforest for a long time now and have have stumbled across a great theme in Salient. Got a few q’s though before I make a purchase.
On the portfolio, can you set the images at different heights, or is it a set size? because I would prefer my folio to be displayed in more of a masonry grid than images in uniformity.
Can the filter button be centered, whilst also being functional and visible in a smaller browser or smartphone/tablet? (I tried centering it on firebug, but when the browser size was decreased the filter had disappeared)
Also, I’m not fully informed of the potential to customise. Are there limits to what I would be allowed to edit, mainly concerning the back-end?

1. It’s possible, but would require custom file modification at this point since there’s no option for a masonry portfolio yet.
2. I will help you with the custom css snippet you’ll need to accomplish that.
3. There are no limits, you can do whatever you want with it

i dont know why!??, we just started our english version of the new website… And this have a complete different CSS, we have the site working and complete with our custom CSS in our language but now the english version is almost with the default theme CSS

steve55555, all the things your seeing in that page speed result that are listed as “issues” are not direct problems with the theme – but rather my lack of server & caching optimization. For example, if I switched to a stock WordPress theme such as twenty twelve, you would see the same results come up because I still haven’t done any of those optimization steps.
I’ll try and take time to address them all on my server soon to clear up confusion anyone might have like yourself.

I put several support tickets in on your support site 2 days ago that are still unanswered, yet I see that you are responding on here, should I move my questions here?
In addition to those 2 questions, I noticed with the Facebook Social Media options, that it doesn’t go to the link correctly in both the header and footer icons. If I look at the source of the page it directs to, it seems to add, https://www.facebook.com/TheCommuniKey%E2%80%8E to the link.

Super strange! Since i’ve never encountered that before I don’t know what might be the problem off the top of my head. Nothing was changed in 2.0 about those links and they are populated the same way all the others are that are working normally for you. Unfortunately I will need to login and check your setup which will require a private support ticket.

Yes, that would be the right way to make it retina ready or else you could remove the icon from the list item in the footer and use an image in its place

Amazing theme, I love it!
I have a question though. How can I change the color of specific headlines. I’ve chosen yellow as my main color, which works perfectly with buttons etc, but not with headlines. Fx. my blog headlines in the widget area, or the blog headlines on my front page (which is yellow now because I chose that as the accent color).
How do I change that? Can i change it in the css section. Doesn’t seem to work so far?!

Hey barbara! If you want to change specific elements to a different color you will need to create a css rule for that element. You mentioned you wanted to change the blog heading link..here’s a snippet for that you can enter into your custom css box:

Hey bosueke, that seems to be an unanticipated bug with the new carousel sizing function which yields better performance works better in other cases for the portfolio items carrousel etc. I will note to fix this asap!

Hey tylerford! I’m afraid that safari is indeed worse than other browsers with image resizing on the fly and pixelation can occur especially with thinner fonts like the one you used for the slogan. If you want it to look perfect on all browsers, your best best will be to disable the header resize effect in your header options tab .

Your oversight of IE. and particularly anything but Chrome in this update is rather curious.
However when it does all work, it looks great. Kudos.

Hey grimmfang, not sure what you mean exactly but I actually built the update doing thorough testing on all browsers and versions supported by Salient. I even spent a day devoted to IE8 to ensure the video backgrounds would work no matter the case.
I’m in internet explorer 10.0.9 and the page locks up after about one second on the homepage, and the about page fails to load past the header.
That’s using your demo site.
On my personal site running salient it does not load at all. Nor does it run on Firefox.
Chrome runs extremely well.
I just checked it on IE 10,9 and 8 again to confirm and experience no issues. There especially should be no issue with Firefox as that browser is equal to chrome in its capabilities for videos..I also have not heard a complaint yet about crashing and can only assume a bunch of buyers and viewers were not using chrome. What OS are on you?
Hmm, I’m sorry that you aren’t seeing these issues… You would not be pleased.
I’ve tested on a bunch Windows 7 machines, my own and my schools. I’ve also tried it on Windows RT ( The arm win8 version) where it completely locks the device up. On iPhone 4 iOS7 there is also a much lower framerate than without video sliders but it does load, though this is understandable.
Also I would like to note: the new effect you have added on fullwidth image page headers displays the text over the rest of the content before the animation is completed.
I’ve tested on my own Windows 7 PC, a Windows 7 laptop and Windows 8 laptop. i’ll re check all of browsers on them tonight and report back..
Thanks for pointing out the page header bug though – that makes sense and I will patch it up!
one more petty thing: on the portfolio page the drop down is now squared off, but the 4 pixels you added on each corner are set to that teal color, so for sites with different colors it looks odd. And on small screen devices some slider h1 styles can be really thin and difficult to read, nothing a little tinkering can’t fix but it could bother some less skilled buyers.

BTW I don’t think you would release anything with awareness that is wasn’t perfect. Your an amazing designer and I really wish I could shake you hand for making a hell of a theme and a hell of an update.

Awesome theme! Just a couple of questions: What are the dimensions on the slider of “Home- Landing Page”? Is it possible to make the slider move automatically (like a slideshow) while having video on the background, like the on “Home – Landing Page”? (I noticed that one isn’t moving by itself). 1. The width is automatically calculated based on the viewers screen size but the initial height is set to 700px
2. Yes you can define an auto rotation speed for each slider to whatever you want or can you not use it at all.

Wow, awesome slider! So what would happen if I were to be in one of those small netbooks? Would part of the image on the slider disappear, or would the width re-size to the screen’s dimensions while maintaining the height at 700px?
The height will scale down as the screen scales down – just take your browser window and start resizing it to see
