no i’m on 3.5. The buy page said 3.5 was compatible. Should I upgrade to 3.6?
The Nectar Slider was just added in 2.0 a week ago and that one specific feature relies on the video player that is built in to 3.6 – I have noted this in the documentation and will try and make a better work around for legacy users who haven’t upgraded yet. Once you update your error should go away

I did a fresh download of the wordpress files yesterday so I’m assuming I’m running on the latest version of Salient
You can find what version you’re on by going to the theme information tab in the theme options panel. From looking at your source code, there are no slides in the slider. The only way that could happen is if you changed the slug of a slider location to be different than the name and are not using 2.05 or if you really didn’t have any slides in your location. Please verify you’re on 2.05 and if you are, please open a support ticket with your credentials so I can see what’s going on in your setup

I am using salient for a prototype of an blog/ecommerce site. I need to show featured products on the home page. At the moment I have recent posts and featured products on the home page but the woocommerce piece is not responsive. Rather than reformat, the four products get squeezed together on smaller screens. http://emediacy.net/salient4/ Is there a way to make this responsive? 1. I will have to work on making the WooCommerce recent products shortcode more responsive, expect this in the next release!
2. I see you have a sidebar layout selected for the single product page but are not using a sidebar yet – for the time being I would suggest you set it to a full width single product layout to give yourself some more room! I have noted to set a max width for the title to ensure this won’t happen though

Hey t1rnanog! It was just one minor change to remove the info in the page header settings box on the about us extended page. It didn’t need to be there and caused a small gap of space below the Nectar Slider

Amazing theme!! Sort of sucks being an author and knowing you have already covered every angle with this epic theme though.
Just trying to work on my site using your theme and having problems, im using home – alternative which i noticed doesn’t have the fade on scroll. I was hoping I could use the normal slider though I couldnt figure out were to remove the arrows as I want all navigation not visible. Im trying to make it so the slider background image stays the same and only the title changes to display my services with changing text if you get what i mean?

The new Nectar Slider does not offer the parallax effect when using the boxed layout. This is because the css3 transformations used to animate the effect can glitch out in some browsers in a constrained div. If you would like to have the parallax effect, you can either set your theme layout to full width again or you can use the old home slider. Since that uses an older way of animating, it’s good enough in browsers like safari for me to not disable the effect.
Also, you mentioned you wanted to remove the arrows on the regular slider. Use this custom css snippet:
body div.slider-nav {
display: none!important;
}

Question:
I am using the nectar slider on my homepage. There is a preloading screen before the slider loads. (A gray background, with dashed lines) and then a animated pre loader over it. Is there a way to change the color/image in background in the pre loader area?

If you select the full width option you’ll get the new style of portfolio item as seen on the homepage of the live demo which is more of what you’re looking for

Currently if you add a post, insert media and then click on those images on the published post the images just open in a new section and not on the site. Any thought on this?

Hey dc496! Unfortunately you can’t easily split the slider from the theme at this time – but I’m sure it will turn into a plugin in the near future with the new ThemeForest guidelines taking place etc.

I’ve already purchased the theme for a project, but I would love to use the slider on different projects! The effect is very cool and unique and isn’t available in any other slider. I think you would have a lot of sales if you decided to release it.
I will totally keep that in mind – I’m sure others would also love to use it else where!

Couple of questions.
Firstly, I just started implementing the Nectar Slider on my site. All very easy, it’s just that my headline and caption are coming out the same size. On the demo, the headline is large and the caption is smaller. Do I need to change the Typography settings, or is there some other way to control this?
Second: the demo utilises animated counters as well as an animated bar chart – yet I can’t find a shortcode in the generator for the counters. Does one exist? Am I looking in the wrong place?

OK, discovered that animated counters are actually called Milestones. Got them working fine. Still confounded by the title, caption issue.

http://www.logicandmagicinc.com/profile/A click on the forward button seems to rotate the carousel by a random amount. There are 6 phases, each in layouts of three columns. I would like a single click to move from 1-3 to 4-6. The second click should move back to 1-3.
Instead a single click only brings Phase 2 to the left hand side despite it seeming to rotate much further. Is this just how it’s set up or am I doing something wrong?

1. It appears you set the size in the typography options in your theme options panel – I will note to allow different sizes in the future in that panel, but for now simply remove your selection for the caption font sizing you chose.
2. That’s really weird. Have you done any modding to the files at all? The carousel should rotate regularly as seen on all the carousels in the demo http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/home/home-basic/ I would suggest opening a ticket on the support forum.

Hi! I bought and used your theme, works awesome, but can I ask a small question?
In the demosite you have a great looking dropdown menu under “Features”. In the code I found, I presumed that you used the ubermenu plugin for that. I know I could be wrong, if so, please correct me!
I bought and installed the plugin, but I am having a few issues. When I activate the option in the menu (Select the Menu Locations to Megafy) for “Top Navigation Menu” the menu is now one big black bar and none of the pages are showing. Can you please help me with this? I have added two screendumps.

No, you did everything correctly. I would try clearing your cache and also deactivating your mega menu plugin if you still have it on

Goodmorning, great template! A few questions, does the template support WPML? In the footer are now 4 columns can that be 3? In the http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/home/home-basic/ header there are 2 or 3 textlines, can change that to be 1, 4 or 5 lines?

You would indeed need to update to the latest version to easily get the auto rotate functionality. All you need to do is delete the current version you have on your server and upload the new. All of your content & theme settings will be safe so don’t worry! The only thing you’d have to look out for is if you made custom file modifications, but I’m guessing you didn’t right?

I was curious if it was possible to change the menu format on the tablet version. For instance the desktop shows the full menu, tablet and smart phone show a button that expands to the menu. Is there an option so the tablet also have the full menu too (i.e. no button)?

1. The menu format will act as the desktop version in landscape mode on ipad. In most cases there would not be enough space to allow for the desktop menu to show on portrait mode which is why the mobile layout shows. Modifying this would indeed require custom development.
2. You can disable the responsive design option inside of the theme options panel

The full menu appears in iPad landscape view – make sure you’re not viewing the demo in the iframe from ThemeForest either click the “remove frame” link on the top left hand side or view the demo directly at http://themenectar.com/demo/salient
By default regardless of the number of items, the mobile menu will always show in portrait view. I simply meant that it wouldn’t even be possible to show the desktop menu on portrait view in most cases.
