For those who will update from v1.3+ to V2+

In V2.0 we have done huge changes to both backend and fronted. these changes were performance improvements, new features, bug fixes, new design in Masterkey Framework and a new page composer with huge functionality.

I would like to take the time to appreciate for all your patience until I deliver this version. I have some notes and steps for your on how to migrate to V2.0

Please note that depending to number of your pages this migration may take from 10 min to 2 hours. so I suggest you to enable maintenance mode to avoid visitors see the site while you are fixing some issues.

We have changed the whole page composer with the newest version of Visual composer, it took a lot of effort to migrate our old page composer to new one as we had to do this process smoothly and carefully to avoid any issues that might happen to current customers. Good news is that we have migrated successfully without compromising anything and now its ready to use.

Why we have moved to new version :

1. Its coded with Backbone.js a library which adds speed to your process. 2. more easier to control, its drag and drop feature improved. 3. Rows have been introduced so you can have nested columns, columns into page section, tabs and accordions into columns and many more stuff that if you worked for a long with old one you will see the big change and possibility that you can achieve now. 4. Many small features such as new media uploader for gallery shortcode that I don’t want to point out all of them here.

What will happen to our contents that we built them with old page composer?

Since in new page composer shortcodes can not be placed in visual canvas, they all must be placed inside a row or page section shortcode. In new page composer none of the elements are built-in columns. but This process has been automated. if you visit a page that built with old page composer you will face with a button that ask you to convert the page elements to new one. now here we have 2 steps :

—If you did not use page section shortcode in this page, here we go click on convert and thats it. check everything and delete empty text blocks that you may find between short codes (this is normal to see empty text blocks). Preview page and fix any column issue that you find is not converted correctly.
—If you have used page section you should follow below steps :

1. Once you arrive to the page click classic mode to switch to classic editor.
2. search for page section shortcode and insert vc_column shortcode right inside of it as below :

width=”1/” el_position=”first”] your short codes inside this page section stays here \mk_page_section

3. Once you have done with this process click on Page Composer mode and hit the button that asks you to convert the content.
4. As the content is converted visit back the classic editor and find the page sections once again and remove vc_row from where [mk_page_section] shortcode starts.
5. Also remove the closing shortcode tags of /vc_column wherever you find [/mk_page_section]
6. you will need to set the columns inside page section manually(in other places this will be converted automatically).
Thats all about it. if you need our assistance or feel you can not convert a page yourself please open a thread and leave your WP access. Our staff will work more hours this week to cover support issues more faster to make this migration smoother for everyone.

For anyone who have purchased the v2+ will no longer need to follow above steps and you can enjoy our new dummy data(that converted). We have updated documentation => Page Composer section to explain the new added sections in detail. We have updated Page Template section in documentation as well so you can use them with new page composer.

For any quick question I will try my best to back to you in comments section throughout the day.

how long does envato usually take to approve a theme?

Hi, in fact this takes less than a day or two. We have submitted 18 hours a go and I guess within few hours will be approved. Meanwhile please have a look : http://artbees.net/themes/jupiter/docs/#Migration

Hello bob can you add me on skype? Nick: “alfieita” thanks!

Hello. Any news on the v2.0 release? Thanks.

Hi, Not yet, waiting for approval. Please contact me through email. Thanks

@ISSgovernance Welcome to IE Darkness ;)

Its over darkness, IE10 has issues when I discovered then I remembered a quote from one of our support staffs :

IE should be taken to Area 51 and nuked.

;)

:) It’s also the best browser for downloading another browser!

I’ve just sent you email, but i forget another thing :

More Translation are avalaible in v2?

You can start a translation project

https://poeditor.com/

it would be my pleasure to participate in this (Fr translations)

hi bob,

this is an important comment which i think would also help others, especially those developing on local/intranet servers.

i have been requesting for IE 9 compatibility, turns out jupiter has always been compatible from the start. we discovered that our IE 9 is set to compatibility mode on intranet sites that why it appears broken.

for those who are having problems with IE 9 you can try doing this: open your site on IE9 > press alt t > this would open the tools menu > go to compatibility settings and uncheck intranet compatibility view.

again, this is the best theme ever. and the developer has been so wonderful trying to please all his clients. apologies for being so demanding sometimes.

Oh, Thats terrible, just now I see why you were keep worrying about IE! in fact Jupiter has some small issues that I personally not happy with them, I thought you are addressing them. Right after v2.0 I will have one more update which mostly fixes these issues. Thanks for letting us to know about it and for supporting me ;)

still, we need to work on IE 8. :)

I am aware of that and will reflect these in our coming version. Thanks

Any chance the amazing Page Builder functionality of Jupiter is available as a stand alone plugin?

I am having issues with the Button. How do i add the href link path? I tried using link=”somelinkhere.com” href=”somelinkhere.com” but nothing works.

Hi, You should add url=”http://somelinkhere.com”! Thanks

Hey Bob!

In our(I know a lot of us are waiting) wait for the next release, I thought, what if you set up a simple but functional countdown page to the next release?

People can simply head over the page and get updates?! :D

LOL, I am sorry if I delayed in this update. Its already submitted and will be out within few hours. I just hope TF will approve it asap. Since this update had huge changed in backend it was not that simple to let it go without complete testing. This version needs some works in users side as well and I have explained them in step by step.

Great theme! Can you tell me if your latest update might deal with the theme working properly in IE with Compatibility Mode?

Hi, Thanks for purchasing our item. as I mentioned in comments I will have an other update (2.1) which mostly addresses IE and some new features that we could not deliver it in v2.0 Thanks for your patience.

Hi Bob. Can you please consider having the Employees element show 4 items in a row, including a description? Right now, you can only show 3 with a description. Really need to have 4 per row. Also, any option of changing the size of the featured Employee image? Thanks.

One additional comment. It seems that the Employees element is only using 880px of the width. Thus causing an issue with 4 items across. Where as other elements are using the full 1040px. Thanks.

Hi, in v2.0 the shortcodes are templates in theme root folder, so you can override them in child theme with modifying them. I will assist you once this version out with giving the file you need to override. regarding the 880px I should check that as well and if its so I will fix it too. Thanks :)

Is there a forms plugin you recommend that blends well with the styling of your template? Contact Form 7, Gravity Forms, Ninja Forms etc.

I need to create a form where the people can upload their resume. I’ve only used Contact Form 7 which worked ok.

whoops just noticed that contact form 7 is built in :) answered my own question

Hey, great you found it. in future updates we will blend gravity forms into the theme too. Thanks

Hello. I really like this theme! I am hoping to buy it, but am a little confused about some of the features you list.

The theme says it works with bbPress forums. Does that mean your theme will work with BuddyPress, specifically with the latest version BuddyPress 1.8.1? Or does the theme ONLY work with bbPress forums (NOT the full BuddyPess plugin)? Has this been tested with the BuddyPress 1.8.1 plugin installed? I am specifically looking to know if the Member Directory page and the member profile pages look okay with your theme. Some themes that do not support BuddyPress have those pages look very bad and unusable.

Also, if I use one of the page templates that has a left or right sidebar on a page, will that sidebar show up on a BuddyPress specific page, like the Members Directory page and/or the member profile pages? Some themes will have their page templates get overrun by the BuddyPress plugin and not show a sidebar even if the theme has sidebars in the chosen page template.

Thank you!

Hi, thanks for your interest and I have some feedback for you :

1. Jupiter so far supports bbPress, However it has some small issues and we will address them in new versions.
2. We are planning to release v2.2 with buddyPress compatibility and in some level styling it to fit the theme design. but we have never tested Jupiter with this plugin and I dont think theme will work with buddyPress.

Thanks for your interest and stay tuned for our new updates.

Cheers

Hi there,

I seem to be having a problem when updating a page using page composer.

When i update a page in a ‘page section’ it creates 4 text blocks and then another 4 if i continue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike

Hey Mike, This issues has been fixed in v2.0 of Jupiter. Right now we are beta testing and preparing it to submit. Once you downloaded please read the documentation => Page Composer section for changes. Thanks

Hi, I have color issues, no matter how I change the colors in master settings, they still change the way they want to. Even if i restore defaults and then start to upload my logo, the colors start to change again. Why is that?

Hi, Mind reporting this in our Support Forum? Right now I am busy updating theme and our support team will check your issue. Thanks

Hi. Two questions:

1. Can you answer my former questions a couple of pages back, please? 2. When will 2.0 be released?

Cheers yo.

Hi, I am sorry for the delay in comments section. I will check your question once I submit v2. right now we are testing and preparing it to submit. Thanks for your patience.

i understand bob. your framework is really amazing, with unparalleled flexibility. i know that jupiter cannot be everything to everyone (and you try so hard to make it so – thanks for that!) but IE browser compatibility and mobile versions are essential for today’s themes. i think it is a good strategy to set aside an update purely for this. thanks and more power.

I do undrestand and as I promised v2.1 will address theses issues. right now I am busy testing and submitting v2.0 Thanks

Hi,

I’m having an issue with BB Press conflicting with breadcrumbs.

After setting up the bb Press forum on my Jupiter theme, I noticed that when I clicked on any of the forums it came up with the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function bbp_get_forum_parent() in /home/inbluec/public_html/wp-content/themes/jupiter/framework/breadcrumbs/breadcrumbs.php on line 267

Is there anything that you can recommend to resolve this issue?

Thanks.

Dan

I’m using version 1.3.4

Is there an update available? I just had a look in the updates section to see if there was an update available for Jupiter and it said, “Your themes are all up to date.”

Premium themes updates will not be shown in wordpress dashboard. current version is 1.3.8.4 and tonight v2.0 will be submitted to themeforest. so your theme is out of date. please check item description page bottom update log. Thanks

Hi Artbees,

Congrats on the theme; I have narrowed down my options to this and two other themes (Kallyvas and Enfold). I need to buy one and start work asap.

1. Can you tell me when v2 will be available for download tomorrow – approx time would be great.

2. Do you have a list of new features/fixes that are included in v2?

3. Do you know if you theme supports banner ads – e.g one in the header and one in the sidebar?

4. Do you offer video guides for setup/installation etc, or just the guide docs?

Tough decision, hoping you can get back to me asap re: the 4 questions above.

Thanks.

Would really appreciate a reply…

Hi, Thanks for being interested in our theme, and I am sorry if I could not answer your question earlier.
1. yesterday I was testing v2.0 with the team and submitted just last night. It will be approved today night or tomorrow morning depending on envato review queue. So I can not give you an exact time. 2. I will make them available by today on the update log. 3. Our header will not support ads in header but sidebar yes you can place any ads. 4. For now only written docs but we are working to release videos as well. LOL, yes choosing a theme here is very though decision. All have some features that you cant let it go and you should narrow down your needed features to make decision. Thanks

Hello! To begin with, thank you for this amazing theme!

Now I have just finished my first website based off of Jupiter and I just migrated it. Everything works except images passed through the theme, for example News featured images.

The upload folder has been changed in the migration Here’s an example of what has happened:

Image URL (Featured Image News) before migration: http://media.flapplabs.se/thumb-cache/d013a433911ac69828b4e080b90fa1e7-716aa1d43501f154787f0358df9ba464-500x250-100-crop.jpg Image URL after migration: http://hyrin.se/customers/8/2/0/hyrin.se/httpd.www/newhttp://hyrin.se/new/media/2013/09/newsnyalokaler-ee0781ec4b22d07a0f8509975e9b51d6-500x250-100-crop.jpg

This also applies to images inserted with the page builder. I think I have pin-pointed the problem to your theme_image_resize function but I can’t seem to figure the rest out!

Any help would be very appreciated! Sincerely, Fabian Lindfors

Hi Fabian, I think all these issues has been fixed in v2.0 which is under review process, please note that in new version the page composer changed and you should convert the pages with one click to new structure. The link to instructions on how to migrate to v2.0 will be in update log section shortly. Thanks
