Hi, really awesome design. Im thinking of buying the theme but there is just one think i need to know, is it possible to have a youtube or vimeo video in the slider that autoplays ? Other than that this theme is really awesome

You have the option to either:
1. Use a fullwidth video background that autoplays but it has to be self hosted rather than an embed.
2. Place a link to your vimeo/youtube embed from a button on your slider that will pop up a lightbox video. An example of this can be seen on the home page of the live demo in the “Coded to Pixel Perfection” section on the buy a beer button.
3. Have a video player in the home slider. An example can be seen in the second slider here: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/home/home-basic/

Is it possible to add a custom class to fullwidth sections to better control the styles within that section? Would be great if there was an extra class field within the nectar > fullwidth section shortcode menu.

Yes, you can add the attribute class=”” onto the full width section shortcode
where? It already generates a class, I can’t add a second class attribute.
Whatever you put for the attribute class on the fullwidth section shortcode will get added as a class along with the other classes that already are on the div when it’s processed.

I recently bought your theme, and I can just say it is awesome. Best theme I ever come across.
I use this theme to build an ecommerce and it works well but I miss a few options that would be great to have for a better ecommerce experience and I really think you guys have a great opportunity to make this theme leading even in ecommerce.
Just a small tip: Please have a look at this two themes and maybe in the future you could add some of these Woocommerce function integrated in this theme.

Please, how can I make the text written into a portfolio page to appear after (below) the sortable thumbnails, and not before (above)?
For example: I have some 15 to 20 top-notch clients that would be on the thumbnails, linking to their “pages” (I have videos of tem, etc), but I also have a big list of regular clients (50 to 100) that I would need to show (as a written unordered list, divided in smaller groups) just below the thumbs list.

Hey dummy123! You would have to open the page-portfolio.php template and change the location of the code that displays the content from the editor to be under the portfolio code. If you need help with this please open a ticket on the support forum and i’ll give you a hand!

the included dummy-data.xml file with the latest version does indeed have all the setups seen on the live demo. The only thing that differs is the absence of some media files I can not legally include, but all the structures are there – this is also covered in the user guide in the dummy data section. If you’re importing it and not getting what you’d expect you should verify your current setup doesn’t already have pages named the same as the ones trying to get imported as this will prevent it from going through.

Blog posts should have no problem transferring over because all WordPress themes should use the same basic database entries for storing them. The area where you would need to do some manual transferring of data would be the portfolio if you’re gonna use it because that structure is specific to Salient.

Your theme is the best, but we really want a site that support RTL functionality, it’s really sad to find that the best themes doesn’t have this option .. can u do anything about it ?!! we can pay double the price if u want, we can also help you translate anything into arabic for free actually

Hey virplay! If you’re importing xml data from a different portfolio setup outside of Salient the odds are it won’t work. Every single one of the field names with the two portfolios would have to be the same in the database for the data to get successfully imported and the odds of that are very low. You can only transfer portfolio data from one copy of Salient to another.

Will do! Bought the theme, but now I’m mad at the hosting company I have and want more POWER. So (no names here) will have to go after six years and I’m moving on.
Do you know if WooCommerce will allow me to sell just digital goods? If so, I’m determined to use what you use—so I can stay as close to the theme’s purpose and functionality without incurring problems.
I tried looking on their site-and I think I’m blind (good thing I’m a grandpa and have an excuse-snicker).
Oh-I DO have a question. Easy one too. On the show site, you have the icon of a diamond. Is that included in the theme-or was that custom you used yourself. SOrry, I know I can see the list of icons when I use the short code-but I’m not loading it until I change servers.
The nifty challenge I’ll have is putting a string “fantasy” twist on such a clean, mobile, theme. So looking forward to this…

2. There’s 300 icons included in the theme, but the one you’re referring to was actually just an image icon that I got here: http://icomoon.io/#icons You can download thousands of icons from there and use them in the theme with the image with animation shortcode as I’ve done in various places through out the demo for a nice effect

hi have a quick pre-sale question. the mega menu option is it supported out of the box or I have to download an additional plugin (like UberMenu) to work? And I can chose to have mega menu on all of them correct?

Awesome theme. Had the same problem as someone earlier, video slides weren’t loading in Firefox. Added
AddType video/mp4 mp4 AddType video/mp4 m4v AddType video/ogg ogv AddType video/webm webm AddType video/webm webmv
to my .htaccess file and it was fixed. Using WP Engine as my host.
Yes, some servers need that in in order to parse the video files correctly

1. There seems to be some issue with “MASONRY BLOG” AND WOO COMMERCE PLUGIN
2. The Images in the sliders are not resizing at all, they are zoomed in or zoomed out, but they are not “RESPONSIVE” I need to fix this immediately.

this is an instance where I would need you to fill out a support ticket with your URL because there is no known issue with WooCommerce and the blog as of now. Also, You’re probably using the home slider as opposed to the Nectar Slider which is more precisely responsive in regards to scaling.

Ok, I seem to be answering a lot of my own questions lately… I have figured out what is WRONG with the sliders and the responsiveness… When they are set to “Parallax” they do not resize correctly. This needs to be fixed.
The parallax sliders have the same sizing function as non parallaxed sliders – you can see this on the demo. Please open a ticket
Translation Issue for the “data-sortable-label” on functions.php on line 1932… The translation work initially but when user hover the mouse on the menù for sort the text change and come back the original Sort Portfolio ….

Recent purchaser and love this theme’s potential. The Nectar elements aren’t showing up. Below my header, there should be a full width section with a background image.

Indeed you do have a fullwidth section shortcode underneath the header, but since you have no content inside of it and have the padding top and bottom at 0, there is nothing to give that section any height at all. If you want to just keep it as a background image without content that’s fine – you just need to add top or bottom padding equal to the height you want your section to be. For example, you could start by putting a large number such as 700 as the bottom padding on your section. Remember to also set the background position to center as I’m sure that’s what you would want

Thank you, sir. I assume since it was an image it would take the height of the image, but it’s simple enough. I’m sure I’ll do it several times more, but at least now I know the solution.
Yeah, it’s not quite a raw image otherwise it would automatically have height – backgrounds work differently and only have height based on inner contents or padding

I’ve been scrolling since August for a theme that satisfy my needs and all i find since then is three themes ( The Circles Theme – Jupiter – And yours ) but the problem is the other two don’t support the RTL functionality .. does yours support it cuz i want it to be an Arabic site ?!! and if not can you make that happen, i can wait for another 2 months to get it if you want ..
