Hi Great theme! I want to have my blog page as my static first page and not the usual “home” i tryed to change in wordpress under settings/reading but it dont work.. is there a simple way to do this? No really a themeproblem but still maybe you could help me?

I want to know how can I build up a complete membership/customer system without members seeing the wordpress back-end? Basically I just want there is a “sign up/log” in button in the second menu, and when member logged into the website, the “sign up/login” button will become the member’s user name and a “log out” button. What kind of plugin you recommend? Thanks.

Hey nsalas, the theme supports jetpack comments which also allows commenting through your social media account if that’s what you were going for. If not and you need disqus for another reason, please open a ticket up with your URL and I’ll be glad to assist.

Hi again! I still can’t change to the Nectar Slider after upgrading to version 2. The only options under “Page Attributes” for the home page are:
- Default template
- Contact
- Home – Recent Posts
- Home – Recent Work
- Home – Work/Posts
- Home – Slider Only
- Portfolio
- Sidebar
- Sidebar – left
Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see any way of enabling the Nectar slider. I even deleted all the slides in my Home Slider.

Will, there’s no page layout for the Nectar Slider, it’s generated through the shortcode in your shortcode generator. The reason it doesn’t use a page layout is to make it more flexible and allow you to place it where ever you need it on the page and on as many pages as you like. Ok, i’m slowly understanding the design settings… I have a question about the Footer section. On your demo page you have 4 widget area. Where is demo the text coming from? and also How do I control how many Widget I want to see?
For example I want to set 2 widget but in a row not column. Is that possible? or Widget 1 & 2 column then 3 & 4 rows. Not that I want to do that but just wondering.

Hey kaifanun,
The live demo uses various widgets such as recent posts, recent comments, archives and a text widget to create the sections. If you’ve just installed the theme and have no assigned widgets to any of your 4 footer areas yet than you will see “Lorem Ipsum..” dummy text. This is just used as a placeholder and once you start adding widgets in it will go away.
Right now changing the columns of widgets in the footer would require custom mods to the footer.php file, but in upcoming updates I will be extending the options for footer layouts in the admin panel

is it possible to create asymmetrical columns ?
I need a sixth colums layout but with only 2 columns, with the left one that take one sixth of the layout (a sort of sidebar) and the right one that take the rest, is there a shortcode for this ?
example, I want to do this layout :

I was thinking of (one_sixth)(/one_sixth)(five_sixth)(/five_sixth) but it doesn’t work.

Yes, that’s completely possible. It looks like you simply might have forgot to check the last column box for your five_sixth. It should look like this:
[one_sixth][/one_sixth] [five_sixth_last][/five_sixth_last]

There’s a section on this in the user guide, but basically all you have to do is delete the current version of the theme on your server and upload the new one. All of your content and theme settings will persist through as they are stored in the database rather than the theme files themselves.

I was able to get rid of the top and bottom spaces but now I can’t get rid of some tiny white spaces in between each image. Do you think it possibly has to do something with the dimensions of my preview images? Could you please provide me the ones used on the preview images of the demo in order to make it look as nice as that one? Thank you for your time!

Hello awesome author. I just found out about the video capabilities of your slider. However, my video is taking time to load…what are my dimensions and compression be in After Effects? im doing h264 but im not quite sure about the dimesnions…

I rendered my videos in full HD also using an h264 codec, but the key is to compress them at no higher than 5mb/second. This is standard practice for videos to be streamed on the web without buffering and if you’re videos are fairly quick like mine, you should end up with files under 30mbs with good quality.

For the main navigation, I’m trying to make vertical align to bottom in the header box. currently its aligning in the middle relative with the uploaded logo. I tried to change the “vertical-align: bottom” but it didn’t help. I’m sure i’m not doing it on the correct CSS or tag.

Hi Lovely theme. I have a quick question before I buy today. If i purchase and I use the one page parallax (scrolling) feature, can I integrate this with navigation. So when I click for example about us, it will scroll to the bottom were that content is (and not a new page)?

What exactly are you trying to do? The home slider’s height is configurable through the theme options panel > home options tab.

Thanks for the quick response! When I change that setting, it doesn’t seem to effect the height of the Nectar Slider that is featured in the Home Landing Page, which is where I am confused!
You control the height of each Nectar Slider individually when generating the shortcode. The attribute on the shortcode to use directly is: slider_height=”600” where 600 is your desired height.
The Home Slider is a separate slider which can only be used in one place which is why the configuration settings for that are in the options panel instead.
