Sniff Again with early Christmas presents. The 600+ fonts is one of the key challenges I had—-installing the update now.
Two questions for you:
1) The only way I know how to upload/update a theme is to FTP the files. Now, I DID read the manual (yes, I actually TRY to follow directions =D)... Will that wipe out my work thus far on my website??
2) Do you EVER get sleep?

1. No, FTP would not erase your current work – all of your content and theme settings are stored in the database completely separate from the theme itself. If you want to use FTP just simply delete the old theme folder and upload the new

WOW!!, you are amazing, this updates are getting better and better in the time.
To improve support I suggest 2 things: mail notification from support portal when u reply and login from iPhone. But this things are not your fault. Maybe you should consider to go for zendesk!

I have a client who is interested in mrating her site from her current theme (Echelon http://mysitemyway.com/theme/echelon-wordpress-theme/ ) and would like me to migrate it to Salient. If i just apply the theme do you have any idea how much of the page will break?
Can you provide a link to a demo of the theme’s backend so i have an idea of how flexible it is, or at least screen shots so i know what i’ll be up against?

A lot of the shortcodes probably won’t match up so you would need to rebuild those elements within Salient, but it looks like our wording for columns line up nicely, so the structure should remain. If you’re using a portfolio post type, that also won’t transition smoothly and the data would need to be reentered in Salient’s UI. However, your blog content should come over without bumps. All in all, moving themes with a fully built site from a different marketplace will indeed require some work but switching to Salient specially won’t be any harder than switching to another theme.

Ok, so I fixed it but its due to the theme being incompatible with domain mapping from wpmu. I am working on a fix.

Hi Theme Nectar, I was just wondering what do I have to do or install in order to get the AJAX shopping cart. What plugin would I need to find and what settings I will need to activate in order to have the visible cart thingy-majig. You know the one that shows a preview of your items without going to the cart page? And also an important question, What is the font name of your logo?

Hey TheVieraProject! The AJAX shopping cart seen on the demo is not a plugin – it’s just a built in theme option you can enable win the WooCommerce options tab inside of the Theme Options panel. If you’re having issue getting it to work, please don’t hesitate to open a ticket with your URL

Hey Toni! I’ve never heard of that option and I actually can’t see a reason why Salient would effect it off the top of my head. I’ll note to test it though and see if I can find anything wrong.

Cant wait for the update!! Advice please on how best to save my site.. before updating? I may have to re edit the css bits ive done but would like to back it all up. Best method? A question, ive added a portfolio with pagination, do i have to add page 2, 3 etc myself? I also hope in the update the portfolio has better categories, as all parent child all show in the drop down list.. 1. As long as you have not modified core files directly, there will be no work involved. If you have, please use a child theme going forward so you can keep your mods out of the main theme itself in order to update smoothly.
2. No, the pages for the pagination will be created automatically and the controls to navigate between them will also appear automatically. If you’re experiencing 404 errors, the reason is most likely because you need to enter a slug into the portfolio options tab and resave your permalinks. Make sure you name the slug something other than “portfolio” too! (“work” or “projects” would work for example)
3. Salient doesn’t nested categories differently in the portfolio post type – there will be updates to extend the functionality of the portfolio, but 2.1 did not focus on that. It was a UX focused update with a bunch of bug fixes

Didnt bother, just renamed the theme folder in dreamweaver, uploaded the new one. All is good! Thnaks (still cant sort out the navigation on the home page slider though, they look rubbish, too bold, i wanna make em transparent a bit)

Why don’t you use the Nectar Slider instead if you’re looking for transparent buttons? This way you won’t have to write any custom css.

Salient 2.1 has landed
This update focused on making the UX better for both you and your users. I’ll list the key features here and in the morning I’ll be posting a full changelog with all the additions & fixes. The update is currently pending with TF and should be available some time later today.
Main Features
- TONS of new color options added for areas such as header, footer & call to action (no more custom css to alter these!)
- Hundreds of new fonts added, bringing the total number to over 600
- AJAX search option added (can be seen on the live demo now)
- Footer column options added
- Loads of bug fixes
Remember to clear your cache if you see anything strange on the demo
Also, I just want to say thanks to you guys for your patience while I wrapped this up – I’m sorry I couldn’t get to all your comments and questions tonight but I will be focusing on that full force tomorrow!

Hey Vehr! It appears that you just have some empty paragraph tags at the bottom of your editor – make sure there’s no empty spaces at the bottom on your visual tab and also look for any extra html that shouldn’t be there in the text tab.
If you can’t sort it just let me know and i’ll take care of it for you

I have my Blog page here, http://www.short-breaksuk.co.uk/cloudtexo/blog/. There is a ‘Month and Date’ on the left hand side of each post. For example: In my blog page the first one is ‘SEP 15’. Is there any way to add year as well? May be a line of code in the relevent PHP file? I don’t know. PLEASE could you suggest for me? Thanks again,

Hi guys, great theme. I have a question, when I introduce some text within the boxed format (one_fourth i.e.) I am having some problems with the paragraph spacing since I do not want this so large space between lines. How can I keep a regular paragraph spacing? Thanks.

Hi there! I just installed Salient on my site. I’ve got 1 little problem. I cannot import the dummy data, which is not a problem.
However, when I tried to set up the contact page, I can’t find a way to add the google map. So the page only has contact form 7. How do I add the map?

All i’m trying to do is get a nectar slider to appear on the full width blog page. I know this is going to take some extra development, i just need to be pointed in the right direction. So far every implementation i’ve tried has broken the slider, using do_shortcode got me the closest. Below is the code i used.

Please either explain to me why the do_shortcode isn’t working or explain to me where the php for the nectar slider lives.

the do_shortcode implementation is going to be the right way to approach this. The file to add it inside of would be the index.php file. Are you able to share your URL where you’ve placed it without success so I can see what’s going on?
Also, the php for the nectar slider is inside of the functions.php file.

Nothing will get overwritten indeed, WordPress offers that layer of protection to not import pages/content with the same name title/slug. If you just need to new home page setup I’d be more than happy to mail you it but you could also safely import the file – just make sure your current home page isn’t name the same else or it won’t go through.
