Sai2, the cart in Salient is using the information stored by WooCommerce itself to populate it – it’s not my own system. If the cookies are still set in your browser by WooCommerce the cart will persist, I still have products in my cart from over a week ago. I can’t say why you’re cookies were cleared for my site after 3 days, but it’s nothing to do with Salient.

Hey – nice name haha. Salient already offers a secondary top nav as you can see here: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/headers/ but for things like a login form you would need a plugin. Maybe down the road that will become a standard feature though

I am actually going to be adding the cart in mobile in an upcoming update – it’s been on my to-do list for a little now and I think it’s time

As for getting to your cart now.. you can navigate to it the same way you would on any other theme that didn’t provide the extra ajax cart like I do on desktop – you’re presented with the option to go to your cart after adding something to your cart on each product detail page. For example, add this to your cart and you’ll get a blue bar at the top that lets you know it was added and gives an option to navigate to the cart: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/product/flying-ninja/

Got it, that sounds great. Another quick thought.. could I simply add a link directly to the cart (e.g. on your demo the link is http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/cart/) that appears in the header at smaller breakpoints? Without actually trying it, that seems like it would work to me.

You could add a link directly to it, you would just need to make that responsive rule to only show it in mobile.

The page headers don’t scale the same as the sliders. They’re more relaxed and there will be clipping on the edges in order to preserve the font size within them to be larger. If you wanted to control how they size on mobile more specifically, you would need to use a little css

The main slider will take whatever size you set it to and scale down appropriately throughout the different devices. It’s mostly used for wide/landscape images though. If you need to mix portrait images into slides where some other are landscape you would have to make the image in photoshop so that it’s a portrait but centered in the middle of a larger landscape photo. Or you could always seek another slider plugin.

Hey utesch, yes category pages are supported but if you’re trying to have a landing page for each, what you would do is create your own page using what ever elements you feel like that Salient provides (nectar slider, parallax header, etc.)_ and then simply use the WooCommerce shortcode to display a grid of products from your desired category below.

1. I can see your video loading in every time in Chrome.

2. The preview image will only appear but accompanied with play buttons in IE8 because that browser version used the flash fallback. IE9&10 will display normally like the other browsers.

3. I can also see your preview image on my Andriod phone, what are you using and what do you see?

thank you! the update worked for the buttons, but the menu item is slight slightly below the rest. i’ve stacked the custom css along with the other custom css i already had in there, but it doesnt seem to do anything?

The container width for wide desktop is already 1100px, if you’re seeing the 880 it’s because you’re on too small of a screen. If you alter the small desktop one, you’ll most likely create bugs by doing so.

You can control the various widths with in the responsive.css stylesheet (it’s located in the css folder).

Hey Jan, I don’t know of any reason that could cause crashing on an iPad2 but unfortunately I on;y have an iPad mini to test on at the moment which works noirmally – I will try to get my hands on an iPad2 to see soon!

Setting the padding to a low number such as 2 in my snippet above should not increase the space. The padding is 15 by default so anything lower than that should decrease the space. Can you please open a ticket in regards to this and post your URL so I can check it out?

The problem is solved, thank you very much for your attention. In PHP 5.4 there is no concept of “safe_mode” is decraped. People need to ensure that the permissions are 755 (all wp-content folder) for a well-functioning shortcode generator.
