Hi Pirenko,

I installed the theme a few weeks ago, and I like very thing about it! It’s just great.

I encounter one issue recently, and I am not sure what that is about. I was trying to install a floating social bar on my website (on the blog posts). Although I’ve tried several plugins, no one seems to function well.

For example, when I open a blog, the side bar may not show up and I have to refresh the page to make it appear. Then when I open another page or blog, the side bar remain the exactly same. It seems that it didn’t refresh with the page.

I tried with a few plugins, and they all seem to have the same issue. So I was wondering what might be the problem here.

Thanks and hope I make myself clear :) In case you need the website, it is www.xiaolovephotography.com. (no floating plugin is activated at this point)

Thanks! Xiao

Hi,
Your website is not generating any errors so the sidebar should be always displayed (as long as you don’t have any conflicting plugin active).
About the plugins thing: probably they require some specific files to be loaded on the “onload” event so they may not work properly if the Ajax Load feature is on.
So, or you change you plugin settings (if it’s possible) or you go to Samba Options>General tab and turn the option “Use Ajax calls to load content” off.
Cheers!

installing :-)

Great

About what clients say It is possible to transform the widget to be a slider with multiple clients words ?

Hi,
That’s not possible with the theme as it is. You can do something similar by adding a Widgetised Area element and then add a Samba: Better Comments element to that widget ready area. Let me just add that you can add your own comments and that this widget allows you to filter the comments in different ways.
Cheers!

Hi, on a page like http://www.pirenko.com/samba/corporate-style/ – how can I make the flexslider the same width as say the content below? I don’t want it to be the full width.

Hi,
Thank you for purchasing!
Instead of using the page “featured slider” option, try placing a “Theme Slider” element inside your top row (use the Visual Composer to insert these elements).
Cheers!

Thanks.

Hi there,

Just to let you know that the STYLED TEXT UNDERLINE only partially works once its sat within a Colored container.

eg. If I make a row into a colored section and within that I add a shortcode STYLED TITLE with an UNDERLINE, then the underline thats produced doesnt have the two colored split (The colored underline under text followed by the continued line across the width of the section). It only has the colored underline only

You can see what I mean if you look at the colored sections of my home page.

Cheers Andy

Hi,
It seems to be fine here. Please send me an email with an annotated screenshot. Cheers!

I want to set the background of the main menu (left) to a pattern background..How would I easily change the css to do so? thanks for the help

Hi,
You can add some custom CSS to the theme options. The elements to target are #prk_responsive_menu and #menu_section You can find some help here: http://www.w3schools.com/cssref/pr_background-image.asp
Cheers!

Me again,

Any chance you will be adding soon a client/partner logo grid shortcode. Im not after anything fancy that scrolls. Just a nice 6×2 grid for my home page with either tooltips or/and links to content?

Or can you suggest a plugin or way to do this that will keep with the aesthetic of your brilliant theme?

Andy

Hello,
The Visual Composer has a 6 grid layout so use it and place a single image element inside each column.
Cheers!

thanks for the advice. Not very dynamic but will do the job for now.

cheers

Hi Can you please let me know on this page: http://udh.quattrowebmarketing.co.uk/press/

How can I make the youtube video smaller?

Thanks

Hi,
Instead using it on a full width row, split that row in two or three columns (just click on the Visual Composer layout button located on top of that row).
Cheers!

Perfect, Also how can I add more entries to the contact form? Thanks

You need to install an external plugin for this. The theme is ready and compatible with Contact Form 7.
Cheers!

Hi

Is there anyway to remove the mouseover effect on the blog images ? im using large images and users are finding it a bit confusing.

Thanks great theme loving it.

Hi,
Thank you for your kind comments! Try adding this code under Samba Options>Custom Scripts tab>Custom CSS:
#blog_entries .blog_fader_grid {opacity: 0 !important; filter: alpha(opacity=0) !important;}
Cheers :nerdy:

Thanks worked perfectly !! :)

Hi Pirenko,

Just updated to the latest Revolution Slider and either its bugged or its conflicting with your theme. I keep getting a ‘WRONG REQUEST’ message when I try to add new content or it just ignores button actions if you try to edit existing content. Ive only been able to try in Chrome so I dont know if its ok in another browser but just wondered if you had any thoughts?

Cheers Andy

Hi,
The theme is not generating any errors on the Dashboard so I don’t think it is related with Samba. Try activating another theme and see how it goes.
Cheers!

Yep, it was Revolution – there was a quick update released and a clearing of my cache and its all fixed now.

Cheers as always

Hi, for my special needs I would like to hide the date-info in masonry blog and single post view. Is there a way with custom css? Thanks.

Once again: great theme!

Hi,
Thank you for your kind comments! Try this:
#single_blog_meta>.single_blog_meta_div:first-child, .blog_masonry_lower>.single_blog_meta_div:first-child {display:none;}
Cheers :nerdy:

Yes, this works fine! Thanks!!!

Hey Pirenko,

How do I increase the size of an Icon? I think its connected to the following….

.prk_service.prk_service_center [class^=”icon-”]:before, .prk_service.prk_service_center [class*=” icon-”]:before { font-size: 4em; font-size: 48px \0/; }

However, at the moment it seems to alter the icon size and everything after it. When I test it in Inspector it works but I’m not sure which bit to copy for CSS alterations.

Cheers Andy

Hi,
Try using the !important notation after your CSS instruction. If you have trouble send me a link.
Cheers!

Hi there, I was actually using the wrong thing.

For those searching through your comments to find out how to change the icon size & color – here’s the CSS I used.

.colored_link_icon, .not_colored_link_icon { font-size: 1.4em !important; color: #97a2a6 !important }

Cheers

I’ve buy and install Samba today. I have WP 3.7.1. On the first page I see white page, but the source of the page show the content. What to do?..

Hi,
Can you send me a private message with a link?
Thanks!

any chance you could add a drop down menu support to the theme.

Hi,
I have studied carefully the best implementation for the main menu. One of the things that I did was adding an independent scrollbar to the left area so that you can have a big menu.
I don’t see an easy way ti have the option to use both so I’ll keep as it is. If you want to change this you’ll need to add some custom CSS and also edit the main.js file.
Cheers!

great freaking theme…props!!

Thanks :nerdy:

HI,

I sent you private message, please respond

Thanks Lokesh

HI, Sorry not received any mail

hey got it, your mail went to spam folder

Thanks

Hi, this looks to be comfortably the best fixed sidebar theme for WP (having spent hours trawling today!). I have two questions before I buy – is it possible to ‘box’ the layout instead of it filling the whole page? And is it possible for me to add a fixed header (keeping sidebar priority). Almost similar to Chrome store…I’m wary of changing to much to the point where it may interfere with the breakouts for tablets & mobiles. Thanks, Paul.

Hi,
Thank you for your kind words. Here are my comments: it’s already an option how much the right side area stretches so you can have that effect. This does not appy on some pages like the fullscreen slider page, grid portfolio, etc…
The fixed header thing requires changes to the theme and will have to be well thought. Example: on single pages comes the top bar with nav buttons and on fullscreen slider will it appear too? Anyway, it’s up to you to think how these can be achieved and eventually change the theme accordingly.
Cheers!

hi just wondering would it be possible when the side bar is collapsed be able click on a different icon and be able to expand the side bar to a different div container i.e when you click on logo it opens the navigation menu, but if click on a search icon it would open the side bar but display different content in the side bar (hide the menu and display custom content. )

Hi,
I haven’t understood exactly what you want to do, but you’ll need to “dig” into the main.js file for this. Also, if you want to add something to the menu section you need to open the helper.php file located in the “inc” folder.
Cheers!

I noticed that the Samba I installed doesn’t? have the option of page attributes from the Youtube tutorial “Samba Theme – Page Templates & Page Builder.” How do I download those options? Please advise. Thanks.

Hi,
Your Samba is the same as on the videos ;)
When you are editing a page you need to select a page template on the right side. Select the appropriate page template and save. After that you should see some new options under the page content. As for the Visual Composer if it’s not active by default, turn it on by clicking on the respective button just above the page content.
Cheers!

Hi, One of the best left sidebar menu theme I’ve ever seen. Great job, I hope you’ll keep working on it and I believe it could become a best seller theme. I’m certainly going to buy it soon !

Hi,
Thank you for your kind comments! I’ll try to keep it up to date and let me know if you have any specific feedback on something.
Cheers :)
