When I click the watch video button on the portfolio, I get a 404 page in the popup instead of the video.
I’m using the embed links from vimeo on the portfolio item. Any ideas?

Yeah, it looks like the video script has been removed from your setup or its location perhaps got changed?

Hmm, I would quickly contact your hosting company and ask if they can shed light as to why you can’t access the file when it exists in that location:

I re-installed the theme and now it goes straight to the 404 page… no lightbox. Disabled all plugins as well.
Clear your browsers cache – I still see the same lightbox 404, but now since you’re on the latest release you have the new lightbox with navigation 
The problem is not with the theme files, something on your server is preventing access to that file when linked to.

I have 1 question: Why does the “Team Carousel” shortcode not work on the homepage?? I keep getting “Carousel: images not found” when I linked all images to a the appropriate URLs.

It shouldn’t matter what page that shortcode is used on and unfortunately I can’t replicate this on my end to lend insight – is there anyway you could provide me with your URL so I can check it out and investigate the cause?

It appears it’s that’s being caused by a plugin conflict – I believe one of yours is overwriting Salients carousel shortcode, can you check and try deactivating any plugins that relate to galleries or plugins real quick?

Hi, I am populating my theme but struggling to replicate your homepage, on your demo site you have FOUR portfolio items that are in a stroller on the homepage (or carousel) when I look at my homepage ( http://redmoonconcepts.co.uk/new/ ) my portfolio block don’t span the full width – could you advise me how to achieve the same as your demo please.
Hey caroline1978, you just need to use the recent projects shortcode if you want that carousel
If you’re using the actual portfolio shortcode with the full width option selected you must include at least 5 items so they can make it all the way across in wide desktop mode. If you shrink your window a little you’ll see in the smaller desktop view they reach all the way since that view uses a 4 column grid.
Also, the dummy data includes all the setups you’ve seen on the demo so I would consider importing that if you’re curious about any of the structures

Hey! I’m checking it out right now and can’t see the band – it appears to be a space where the admin bar would be when logged in, have you disabled that? Also if you log out the space will likely go away.

Hi, the admin bar is disabled but you are right. It is the space where the admin bar would be when I am logged in, and when I logged out, the space disappear. But I don’t understand why because if I restored the old version the space disappear even if I am logged in. Am I doing something wrong? Did I update corectly the new version?

say to build this slider… slide 1. Informational video with video controls and call to action button. slide 2. Video background much like your city in the demo, with centered text.

Hello Nectar , i have 2 little things and some question . 1. When i want to go to my blog next page still drop me back the front page ,don’t go another page i don’t know why . and before i have the same problem in my portfolio , (the problem was Portfolio link 404 but after i found the answer, (it was my permalinks and default) but the blog now not working . 2.when you go to my portfolio than you see i use Full Width and Masonry Style , but when you scroll down than you see big white hole ? Why ? Another thing how can i change just the portfolio box colour ? And how can i change just the Social Media Like (heart) colour , because this is nice when just red I know so much question , all theme is cool and amazing . Thanks ! Janos

1. Just turn your permalinks on to any structure other than default – if that gives your portfolio a 404 you just need to enter in a slug in the portfolio options tab (anything other than portfolio) and then resave the permalink structure.
2. This is because you simply don’t have a project that will fit in that space – the items get listed in order so where you have the “Limpo, Outgoing & Guardian Angel” in a row is the issue. The solution would be to reorder your items so that the project “September” is listed before the “Limpo” in your admin panel, which will effect its position on the front and move it to where you most likely want it to be.
You can reorder your projects by their date or you can use a plugin like this: http://wordpress.org/plugins/intuitive-custom-post-order/

I want people to see my top level menus (I have only 4, they could fit) straight way, using the same ‘style’ you are using for the ‘3-line’ mobile icon but one level up.
FROM A MOBILE, I WOULD LIKE….

instead of
(mobile ‘3-line’ icon) menu1 menu2 menu3
THE REASON is that the three icons are important for the website to let people to take action, so I don’t want them to guess that they have more menus under the ‘3-line’ icon.

You’d need to add those items into the mobile menu ul in the header.php and then just use css to hide the regular secondary menu on mobile like this: (enter this into your custom css box):

Sorry to be a pain with this but I think I’m not explanining my issue very well:
Under the ‘3 lines’ (mobile menu) I have two menus, let’s say “A” and “B” (several items under A and B too).
= A …. B ….WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO DO
A BI want those two menus A and B to be located at the top of the screen, not hidden under the ‘3 lines’. I don’t want to use the top secondary menu as it doesn’t look great as the submenus under the three lines (it doesn’t seem a mobile menu).
The reason is that I want to users to see A and B straight away at the top (using the same style as the ‘3 lines’ menus)
Yeah I was thinking you meant something completely different all along! For this mod, try just adding this into your custom css box in the Salient options panel:

you’d just have to create all of those sections in your desired page and then link to them from the main name with hash links, i.e. #about, #features etc.. You could then use a plugin like this to add the animated scrolling: http://wordpress.org/plugins/page-scroll-to-id/

1. Yes, just go to the Appearance > Menus tab in your admin panel and use create custom links where you have the option to define the URL. You’ll just enter the hash link in there such as #about
2. Yes, if you’re using the Home Slider you can adjust the height in the Home Slider options tab in the Salient options panel

Right in your editor for that page you’ll see sections that looks like this:

Unfortunately there’s no youtube background support due to the limitations of being able to interact with an iframe embed from a scripting standpoint. You don’t have to upload through WordPress though, you can use a url that leads to the video files (.webm, .mp4) in any location if that helps.

This theme has been installed for awhile…now I need to activate woocommerce…..what is the best plan of attack if I had never activated Woo Commerce with this theme and install?

Just make sure you’re on a version of Salient that supports WooCommerce (should be fine as long as you’ve updated within the past few months).
