Hi!
I love your theme and I really want to buy it!
But I have a question first: Is there any WPML integration? I’m trying tu build a multilanguaje site and I need to use this plugin.
Thank you!
Hey llustre!
I haven’t claimed 100% support for that plugin yet, but many are using it already. If you encounter any issues just let me know
Cheers
Fantastic! Let me say that this is one of the most exquisite themes that I’ve seen in a while.
I’m going to buy it right now! I’ll let you know if I have any issues with WPML. Thank you for your work and for your quick reply!
Cheers from Barcelona!
You’re very welcome!

After using this theme extensively for the last 6 months…I have to say that I love it! It’s very simplistic in manner, yet I’m able to customize almost every aspect of the theme easily and truly make it unique. ThemeNectar has amazing support as well!! Highly recommended!
Thanks so much Arius31, that’s really awesome to hear!
Cheers!
Hi there, I have a question about using the ‘portfolio eye candy’ as the homepage. I created featured images for portfolio items based on the masonry sizing in the user guide, but I don’t get a nice layout of the items on the homepage. I noticed in the theme example that the ‘mobile weather app’ has a large image when you click ‘view larger’ in the portfolio, but on the homepage only part of the image is used to create the masonry layout. My 16:9 images get cropped to square when I select tall&wide, am I missing a feature/setting?
thnx
Hey robin1971,
The large image shown on “mobile weather app” single page you’re referring to is actually a Nectar Slider. I’ve chosen to hide the featured image itself on the single page to make room for that.
Tall & Wide is supposed to be square and it’s just twice the size of the default one. So just select the option to hide the featured image on the single post page and opt to use a Full Width Section or Nectar Slider. This tutorial goes over that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qVplZzPnRA
Cheers
Hi, thanks for the quick reply.
I had tried that, use a shortcode for a nectar slider and hide the featured image on the single post page. However, when I click ‘view larger’ in the portfolio overview, it shows the featured image, not the nectar slider. This makes sense, but when I use a large, 16:9 image, I get problems with the layout of portfolio eye candy on the homepage. Not only is the image cropped, but also the dimensions are wrong and this messes up the layout. The example I used, the mobile weather app, on the demo page, has the nectar slider after clicking ‘more details’, it shows a widescreen image after clicking ‘view larger’ and in the portfolio eye candy on the homepage it shows a large square image and it is not cropped. How to do this?
In the userguide it says at 5.3 : always upload your portfolio images at a minimum width of 800 px. Below that, in 5.6 it says for masonry item sizing the min. width = 500 pix and min. height= 500 px. This is a bit confusing to me.
thnx !
Hey again,
the minimum sizes for the Masonry portfolio are different that the regular – but you can still use a 16:9 image so as long as the height matches the minimum required. If you’re choosing the tall&wide option you must make sure your featured image is at least 1000px tall. The width can be anything over 1000px and it will display that way in the lightbox while maintaining the square in the masonry layout.
Hi, and thanks again for your swift reply. Well,I tried that, but I can’t figure out how to make sure the image on the homepage is scaled correctly. Take a look: http://temp.exio.nl
The architecture image looks fine in the portfolio (‘view larger’), the height is 1028 px, on the homepage it is squeezed. Any tips ?
Your custom thumbnail is showing that you’ve uploaded it 600 by 403. http://temp.exio.nl/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/thumb_architecture.jpg For the tall & wide size you must upload an image that has a minimum height of 1000px. If you need me to log in to your setup and do one for you as an example I’d be glad to
Cheers
Hi, thanks for the suggestion, I had tried that and the result is that indeed on the homepage the item looks good, but in the portfolio overview on the portfolio page it now shows as a square. I noticed in the demo page you have the 1000×1000 pic for the weather app on the eye candy homepage, the 600×403 image in the portfolio gallery and the widescreen image in the ‘view larger’.
Sorry to keep nagging about this, but I can’t figure out how to set these 3 picture size variations, I can do 2, but not 3.
Yes, a login might be helpful, but I’d prefer not to share login info on a public forum
Hey!
When you set a featured image instead of a custom thumbnail, the cropped sizes will all be made up for all the different locations correctly. If you still want me to login just shoot the credentials to themenectar@gmail.com
Cheers
Hi, thanks, I figured it out! I made stuff to difficult
.. thanks for the patient help!
No worries at all! Glad you sorted it
Cheers!
Great theme! Only one big problem, I can’t seem to enable comments on blog or portfolio posts. Am I missing something?
Thanks very much!—Joel
Hey Joel!
Blog posts should automatically have comments enabled but the portfolio comments need to enabled manually. You can do so by checking the “Allow comments” option in Discussion box on each project edit page. Can you check that none of your plugins are disabling the comments on your blog?
Cheers
Hi, I would love to change the Clients carousel so it runs frequently instead of stop and go. Could you help me with that?
I have one line with 6 logos visible, but in total there are about 20 logos. Would be great if it runs like a newsticker.
Thank you so much in advance!
Hey vaternam!
You can adjust the speed in which is rotates, but you can’t make it function like a newsticker. For that functionality you would need to seek a plugin as there’s no way to mod the current one to do that as is.
Cheers
Hi ThemeNectar, thanks for your quick answer. Could you let me know where to change the speed? Thx!
$('.carousel.clients').each(function(){
to end up at the right place. Down in that section you’ll find this to edit:
auto : {
play : true,
timeoutDuration : 2700
}
Cheers!
Awesome! You are the best! Thx
You’re very welcome
Hey,
This theme is amazing, and simple, don’t get me wrong. It’s helped me out so much but for the next update, I think the header needs to be a little bit more flexible and easier to edit.
Thanks
Hey mkurk, thanks for the compliment & suggestion
Some people miss it at first glance, but just to point out, you do have full control of all the colors used in header if you select “custom” for the color scheme option in addition to all the sizing and padding options readily available.
Cheers
Hi ThemeNectar
this theme will be better and better only two things
1) is there option in Portfolio single item for Gallery Lightbox. Like what you have here http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/gallery-only-example/ don’t have to be fullwidth
2) Do you planning for future a content builder like the Visual Composer from Wpbakery? Greetz Naci
Hey Naci2,
1. Yes, you can set any portfolio whether it be 3 columns, 4 columns or fullwidth to use the lightbox only choice.
2. Anything’s possible
Cheers
Hi ThemeNectar!
(Q.1) In the image used on nectar slider on my front page, the “Heading”, “Caption” and “Buttons” text on the slide appeared too small on iphone (safari) and could hardly be read in responsive mode (other elements outside the nectar slider were already displayed large enough and were readable); to resolve this, you previously advised the following custom CSS:
@media only screen and (max-width : 690px) {
body .swiper-container .swiper-slide .content p {
font-size: 10px!Important;
}
body .swiper-container .swiper-slide .button a {
font-size: 8px!Important;
}
}
However, since I updated the theme to the latest version, this custom CSS does not seem to work any more, the font size is displayed too small and cannot be adjusted with this CSS.
Can you please tell me the new fix to make the “Heading”, “Caption” and “Buttons”fonts in Nectar slider bigger on iphone (safari) again?
(Q2) Also, can you please tell me the custom CSS for enlarging the secondary navigation menu font size?
Thank you very much in advance!
Hey tomasto!
1. The updated snippet would be:
@media only screen and (max-width : 690px) {
body .nectar-slider-wrap[data-fullscreen="false"] .swiper-container .swiper-slide .content p {
font-size: 10px!Important;
}
body .nectar-slider-wrap[data-fullscreen="false"] .swiper-container .swiper-slide .button a {
font-size: 8px!Important;
}
}
2.
body #header-secondary-outer nav ul li a {
font-size: 14px!important;
}
Cheers
Thanks for your consistent excellent support! Highly appreciated, you are a true legend
You’re very welcome!
Hi again, I have a live website and was just about to write you since suddenly all small icons have disappeared (like the little arrow next to menu items with a sub menu, or the arrow “up” that appears in the bottom right corner when scrolling down. But just as I was about to take a screenshot to upload, it is working again. Maybe a retina icon problem? Anyway, as long as it is working again all is fine – thanks again for a great theme!
Hey theroyalvideographer! It could have just been a quick browser/server glitch, but if you can supply me with a URL I will gladly check for errors for you
Cheers
Hi,
could you tell me how to get rid of the black bars that appear on all my videos. I’ve tried several different videos but they all seem to have the bars up the top and bottom.
Thanks.
Hey drog1998,
are you talking about video embeds or video backgrounds in the Nectar Slider? If you’re talking about embed, you just need to update to the latest version and they will go away. If you’re referring to the latter than you must ensure you’re using a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Cheers
Salient v2.6.5 is now available!
This release cleaned up a few more lingering bugs (will be documented in the changelog in the morning) and also added in the ability to use a full width masonry blog layout!
One note for upgrading users – Please make sure the portfolio/contact templates are assigned in your “Page Attributes” box when editing the pages if you notice they are blank. Those two template files had to be renamed for the update and WordPress automatically reverts to the default one when that changes.
Thanks for your patience in regards to the support forum during this update & the weekend – I’ll be back on answering your questions in full swing tomorrow!
Cheers!
Hi, I love your Salient theme and i purchased it today.
Why short codes icons are displaying as blank white boxes in safari?
it just works in chrome..( http://nananssol.com )
I tried to follow the suggestions you posted on your FAQs page, But shortcode-generator.php is not exist on my FTP server and purchased file.
Inside of shortcode_generator folder, it just has css,icons and js folder.
Where can i find ‘shortcode-generator.php’ ???
Or would you like to tell me about other solutions?
Thank you!
Hey nananssol! The FAQ you’re referring is actually talking about an entirely different matter. It was a guide to solve a blank shortcode generator window, it has nothing to do with the icon shortcode itself. However I am checking your URL out now on Safari and see the icons loading in without any issues. Can you also not see the icons on the live demo?
Cheers
Hi,
Just wondering how do I have a full width for the footer copyright?
Hey largeserver,
Enter this into your custom css box in the Salient options panel:
body #copyright .container {
width: auto!important;
}
Cheers!
How do I add columns? I thought I might find a tool in the kitchen sink section but can’t seem to locate. I checked the documentation but saw no instructions. Love the theme so far.
Hey trocity
The columns are created through shortcodes which are all available through the shortcode generator. Here’s a tutorial on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKGIs0MjSag
Note that the shortcode button has changed color and position but all the information is still valid.
Cheers
I purchased the Salient theme and I love it. The only thing I’m wondering is how could I apply a “Full width image widget” at the top of my blog and within each article? I’m very good in HTML/CSS but pretty average in php/wordpress so I’m looking for a clean solution before I start hacking my way through! Thanks!
Hey dbenoni
You can easily place a fullwidth section at the top of every blog page by just using the blog shortcode on your desired page to have the freedom to place whatever you need above it. Unfortunately using a full width section in blog posts is not supported and custom development would be required.
hi. good job friend. i have a problem at typography. my language is turkish. i saving typography setting with “latin ext” but after save settings drop down menu selecting “subset”. how can i fix it?
thank you so much, regards.
Thanks wishrap!
This was a bug of 2.6 and has been corrected in 2.6.5 – update and the issue should go away
Thank you very much. God bless you friend
Best regards.
You’re very welcome
Hi. I can’t get the columns in center at http://kristenbloggen.net
I use this short code:
[one_third]
[nectar_portfolio starting_category=”default” project_style=”1” category=”skapelsen” layout=”fullwidth” projects_per_page=”” url=”http://kristenbloggen.net/?portfolio=skapelsen”]
[button color=”Accent-Color” size=”medium” url=”http://kristenbloggen.net/?portfolio=skapelsen” text=”Les mer…”]
[/one_third]
And is it also possible to make the portfolio image work as a normal link that the users can click on?
Hey kristenbloggen,
Instead of placing a full portfolio in every column you should opt to use the recent projects shortcode instead. You won’t get any of alignment or loading issues you currently have. Also, to make the full project link instead of showing buttons you can use the alternative project style.
Cheers
How can i put a sound on off button on site?
How can i put a sound on off button on site?
Hello wassaeu,
that would take custom development.
Cheers
Hi, I uploaded the files to server like the instructions said, but the theme doesn’t show up in Wordpress for me to install. I googled it, and Wordpress says it doesn’t support uploading custom themes. Does this mean I can’t use the theme I just purchased?
Hello elisepyo,
You’re confusing wordpress.com vs wordpress.org http://www.expand2web.com/blog/wordpressorg-vs-wordpresscom-which-one-should-i-use/
As long as you have a self hosted WordPress install you can use whatever theme you want – you probably just uploaded the wrong zip or placed it in the wrong location. Read this for more info on installing and ensure you’ve followed the process correctly: http://support.envato.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/269/0/my-wordpress-theme-isnt-working-what-should-i-do

Yes, I realized my error. Thank you for the help!!!
