Hi,
I’m having trouble with the latest 2.6.5 update and WP 3.8 – my portfolio page is blank and not showing any featured images for each portfolio item, although the hover effect works on them as though they are there.
Everything was working on previous version and 3.7.1. I’ve checked its not plugins and the theme was uploaded correctly etc. I’ve tried saving the settings in the theme admin again etc.
Also, the map on the contact page wont show either. All settings in admin are good as before.
I’ve submitted a ticket at the main theme support site with URL’s etc – #136721

Hey ICWebmaster! Sorry for the scare – this is actually not a WP 3.8 conflict, the template names for the portfolio and contact just needed to be changed for 2.6.5 and there unfortunately was no way around having them unassign when doing that. I apologize you didn’t see the message I posted on here in regards:
“One note for upgrading users – Please make sure the portfolio/contact templates are assigned in your “Page Attributes” box when editing the pages if you notice they are blank. Those two template files had to be renamed for the update and WordPress automatically reverts to the default one when that changes.”

It’s working great! Though is there a way to set the default category for a portfolio page to something else than “All”? I want the user to be able to allow sortable, but initialize the page to “Featured”.
Hey BigRoyNL! Yes, as of 2.6.5 you can indeed set your own starting category when using the portfolio shortcode – you’ll see a dropdown for it

How can i add “Out Of Stock” badge or “Sold Out” badge on product thumbnail like “Sale!” badge?

the default WooCoomerce functionality for out of stock items is just to display the “Out of Stock” notice on the single product page and replace the add to cart button with a read more button on the product listing page. To get a badge for out of sock items you’d need to do a little custom modding.

I currently have Salient installed v1.6 and absolutely love it. My website developer sent me version 2.6.5 to update to, but once loaded the theme seems to have lost its responsive abilities.

Can the top menu be made sticky on mobile device? I just tried your demo on my iPhone and it scrolls.
I was about to purchase your theme until I tried it with Safari. It worked great in FireFox but it brought my Safari to a slow crawl. My client is using all Macs with Safari, so it’s a bit of a problem.
Do you have a solution to this problem?
Is there an online demo of the backend?

1. Yes with css but it’s not recommended since a fair deal of mobile devices still glitch when using the css property of fixed.
2. You can disable the smooth scrolling/style scrollbar to increase performance in less powerful browsers/setups.

Hi, i’m not sure if this is 3.8 related but i have notice that I can’t add any more menu items to the mega menu. When I add a new page link, it un-checks the checkbox at the bottom for the nav menu location and can no longer add menu item under mega menu column. hope my explanation make sense…

I’m not sure I know what you mean exactly – testing on my end I can still add/edit items within the mega menu as normal and no reports stating otherwise have come through. no its not 3.8 related. I was able to duplicate the same issue on previous versions. It appears there is a limit on menu items.

Hi, I don’t know if someone else have complained about it, but I have an issue with Adsense. Long time ago, ThemeNectar was loading twice adsense. I don’t know what you did, but you fixed it in Salient 2.1, but just in the web version.
When I go into my web in my smartphone or tablet (both android), it still happens: adsense keeps loading twice.

Open up the init.js file located in the js folder and search for ”//portfolio item hover effect” to end up at the right place. Down from there you’ll see this:

simply modify the 0.88 to whatever number you want the opacity to be

I am seeing several major differences when viewing my site in Safari. One of which (even happens in the Beyonce link referenced above) is that the search glass wraps to its own line.

Also – the main images are cutting off in a weird way as opposed to in Firefox or Chrome. It’s moving the image up and adding black under the images. Again – this is not happening in FF or Chrome.
Is there a way to fix this – or take the search out completely?

Your navigation is actually out of room on the small desktop view (safari apparently is calculating the column width by a few pixels different so it breaks into two rows only on that browser). Also, if you load the window with a split navigation like that the Home Slider will calculate off as well – if you loaded the site in Safari on a larger window you would see it behave normally.
To solve this without removing the search, add this into your custom css box:
@media only screen and (max-width: 1300px) {
body header#top nav ul li a {
padding-left: 7px!important;
padding-right: 7px!important;
}

There’s a lightbox built in that has the same style to what you see in portfolio when clicking the view larger button. However, there’s no built in tooltips as of now so that would require a plugin.

Yes, it’s possible but you’ll need to mod the JS a little. Just open up the init.js file and locate this line:
window.open( 'http://twitter.com/intent/tweet text='+$(".section-title h1").text() +' '+window.location, "twitterWindow", "height=380,width=660,resizable=0,toolbar=0,menubar=0,status=0,location=0,scrollbars=0" )
now simply change it to this:

I want to see how I can edit (either css??) so the original navigation on the home page is either invisible or at the bottom, until you scroll down below the home slider and then it sticks to the top of the screen?
Wondering if this is possible or if there are any tricks to making it work easily?

You can remove the header with custom css but to have it appear on a scroll event would require custom development. It’s beyond css once you start getting into scroll events like that and would require javascript development.

Unfortunately there’s no RTL support at this time so that would require a custom mods to the theme.
I am experiencing a slight annoyance with the nectar slider during full screen mode as it goes fully to the edge on the left but one pixel off from full bleed on the right in the smallest iPhone res of the responsive design. Possible for me to fix this with CSS? (OR maybe consider this a fix I am pointing out for a future update…?)

Another thing I would like to edit/remove is that there is 5px of buffer at the very top, a white strip that lies between the top black nav and anything I try to put below it. I want the nav to be totally flush with the graphic. I assume these are 2 different CSS edits…?
