Theme Nectar, this is my first attempt at any website, but it’s been fairly easy to make my site look excellent. The quick tutorials from your youtube videos was enough for me to understand the genius of your shortcodes. I’d highly recommend this theme to anyone. Thank you!
Question: The second slide of my home slider has an embedded youtube video, when I play that video the slider still continues to the next slide. Is there a way to have it stay on that slide while the video plays… like the “Home-Basic Structure” page of the salient demo site? Thanks again. http://www.personhoodkansas.org/
Hey fuzzbucket, that’s great to hear! 
If you wish to have the slider stop rotating when playing your video, you need to use a self hosted option. Events can not be bound to external iframe embeds so this functionality is only in place when using the self hosted video option as seen on the demo.

You can use the typography options tab in your Salient options panel to handle all of that already, but if you need to use a custom font outside of the ones provided – you can apply your family with this snippet:

You just need to enable the <kitchen sink/a> on your editor to reveal a color selector which you can use to change the color of any/all text in your full width section

There’s no way to put just a color background behind the text only without custom development – only the Nectar and Home sliders offer that by default which you could alter the color with some css. If you end up using one of them let me know and I can assist in altering the color

You just need to select the full width & masonry options in you portfolio shortcode or page layout options. Once you’ve done that please make sure to also read the “Masonry Sizing” section in the user guide for clarification on what size images to supply

Quick question:I’m creating columns with large icons at the top and a few lines of text underneath. One of the text is a toggle and I would want to toggle it not just by clicking the text but the large icon. Intuitively, that’s what users will be trying to do.
Is there a way to trigger the toggle from the icon?

How do I disable the transition effect within textarea forms? It breaks the style.

I’m not sure how it’s breaking your style but you can enter this into your custom css box to remove it:
input[type=text], textarea, input[type=email], input[type=password], input[type=tel] {
transition: none!important;
}

Nectar Shortcodes > Social Buttons only offers Nectar Love, Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Do you have a code for YouTube? I tried a few things but nothing worked, YouTube is a very important social media for this site.

The social sharing buttons in the shortcode are used to post the current page content onto the relevant sites – what I believe you’re looking for is simply a link to your youtube page perhaps? If so you can use the standard icon shortcode and wrap a link around it to go to your page

1. Yes, by simply creating a separate page and using the WooCommerce shortcode to display your desired category, you’re free to place whatever other content you desire on the page.
2. Not by default, but if you opt to use a plugin like UberMenu you can.

1. Yes, you can use this to control what pages certain widgets will display on: http://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-logic/
2. No special WooCommerce shortcodes yet I’m afraid.
3. Yes, what you can actually do is create separate pages for each of your categories and use the WooCommerce shortcode to display the relevant categories products on the page. By doing this method you’ll then be free to place whatever other content you need on the page, i.e. Image headers, Sliders etc.

A side from those “dynamic” input text, Salient works super fine with WPML. Even the languaje selector fits perfect in the main menu. I think that if you manage to solve those “issues” you can benefit from users looking for multilanguaje functionality.

I am trying to bring the secondary menu closer to the main menu as there is a big gap between them, and tried the following custom CSS:
body header#top nav ul li a {
padding-bottom: 25px!important;
padding-top: 0px!important;
}
However, when I do this the main menu looks too high relative to my logo. Therefore I want to make the secondary menu go downwards/lower towards the main menu, instead of the main menu going up in order to close the gap between these two menus.
Can you please kindly tell me what custom CSS to use? Thank you very much in advance

Honestly, you’d be better off just not using a secondary nav at all and then modding the header.php file to include that info styled with css to be positioned where you need it. If you continue on the route you are and need to adjust the header closer to the top, it’s going to create additional problems for that sliders positioning.

I’ve noticed that there’s a bug with the call to action and WPML. In the second language it shows the call to action in all pages (even the ones that I excluded in my default language) and there’s no way to translate it.

Luckily you can recreate the call to action section using the fullwidth section shortcode pretty easily, which would translate easier. Let me know if you need help with that!

Quick question about the feature slider. I am using a 1280×720 video and I have the page not showing full screen. Unfortunately the video is being cut off vertically. I tried scaling it down in proportionally but its still almost zooming in rather then scaling. Any suggestions?

Yea you must provide a 16:9 aspect ratio for the video background, so changing that would result in undesirable scaling. If your video is getting clipped the only thing you can do is increase the height on the slider which would allow more of the video to remain visible.

Hey marcinsipowicz, unfortunately there’s no PSD’s included because there’s no images used in the design elements. If you needed a PSD for mocking up, a screenshot would be almost as useful.

I’m having trouble with the latest 2.6.5 update and WP 3.8 – my portfolio page is blank and not showing any featured images for each portfolio item, although the hover effect works on them as though they are there.
Everything was working on previous version and 3.7.1. I’ve checked its not plugins and the theme was uploaded correctly etc. I’ve tried saving the settings in the theme admin again etc.
Also, the map on the contact page wont show either. All settings in admin are good as before.
I’ve submitted a ticket at the main theme support site with URL’s etc – #136721

Hey ICWebmaster! Sorry for the scare – this is actually not a WP 3.8 conflict, the template names for the portfolio and contact just needed to be changed for 2.6.5 and there unfortunately was no way around having them unassign when doing that. I apologize you didn’t see the message I posted on here in regards:
“One note for upgrading users – Please make sure the portfolio/contact templates are assigned in your “Page Attributes” box when editing the pages if you notice they are blank. Those two template files had to be renamed for the update and WordPress automatically reverts to the default one when that changes.”
