Is there a way I can make it use the browser’s default scrollbar? I’m having problems with the theme’s custom scrollbar…
Hey partiallypro, yes – there’s an option in the general settings tab in the Salient options panel to disable the smooth scrolling which also disables the styled scrollbar

A question for the NectarTeam:
I licensed this for www.startreknewvoyages.com
We will (finally) be moving everything to www.startrekphase2.com in the future.
We had two thoughts in mind…
(1) no matter which link is used, the back end will be the same (they’re the same site), even though the URL will be whichever is chosen
(2) all stnv traffic gets redirected to the stp2 domain.
So, the questions…
Option 2: I purchased one license for the stnv domain before we decided on doing the switchover – will that be a problem?
Option 1: If we opt for this, do we have to purchase another license? It’s still one site, and will simply have both domain names configured to work with it.

I would love to see a few new options for this theme…
(1) I would love to see fixed height category/blog summary posts template/layout added (like Masonry, but fixed heights so that things align in better date order).
If you check the 5th panel (Commercial/Retail/Hospitality) on this link, you will see a rough idea of what i mean – pretty much like that, but with the appropriate titles, dates, categories, etc.
http://www.lifx.co/(2) I’d love to see some more variants of the blog/cat category pages (instead of just masonry and massive image followed by post/excerpt).
Perhaps something like thumbnail image on left, snippet on right, with some theming (box, lines, etc) that’s in line with the rest of the theme design.

Mega theme, love it. I am trying to get the ‘Sort Portfolio’ horizontal menu header to be smaller than the standard header like in your live preview. How can I do this? Mine is the same size and it looks wrong.

I just solved the problem myself, I had to assign the template type to the page and it worked! It just shows what a great and intuitive theme this is
Hey mfrej! Sorry for the scare – the template names for the portfolio and contact just needed to be changed for 2.6.5 and there unfortunately was no way around having them unassign when doing that. I apologize you didn’t see the message I posted on here in regards:
“One note for upgrading users – Please make sure the portfolio/contact templates are assigned in your “Page Attributes” box when editing the pages if you notice they are blank. Those two template files had to be renamed for the update and WordPress automatically reverts to the default one when that changes.”

1. Yes, you can add a lightbox anywhere by simply adding the class “pp” to your link. Here’s an example that you could add into the text tab on your editor:

I was curious if there was a way to change the color of the read more, reply and submit button colors. None of the accent colors seem to apply to these buttons. I looked around and dod not see how to see those colors. Right now they appear to be black. Advice welcome.

the accent color effects the hover state of those buttons – if you want them to remain the accent color in any state, enter this into your custom css box in the Salient options panel:

This works but unfortunately, the nectar slider caption color also changes to black, even though I want this to remain white.
Can you please show me how to make the nectar slider caption white, while changing the body color in the rest of the page to black?

If that doesn’t do the trick then we’ll have to simply create another snippet to change the slider back to white

I just realized that when the above method is applied, the testimonial slider’s quote section also becomes black when in fact I want it to remain white.
I have used following full-width section shortcode (with text color set to light), in combination with testimonial slider:

Great theme. Fantastic approach to making a lot of stuff possible without complicating things too much. That’s quite a feat.
I’m wondering if there’s a way of being able to use the ‘milestone’ shortcode based on a number of posts in a specific category (portfolio categorie). As there’s a lot of new content on a daily basis, it’s not possible to go into the page-editor and change the value on a regular basis. Have you got any ideas on how I could make this work?
I looked through the enclosed PDF but as far as I could tell, the milestone shortcode wasn’t even mentioned.

Use it as this in your post/page

I think the best thing to make this modular and have this work, even when the Salient theme is updated, is to make a custom plugin so this codes resides outside the Salient theme.
(However, it would be better if the Nectar Team would be able to incorporate such a shortcode into the theme 
)

When on a portfolio layout page, when scrolling through portfolio item images, is it possible to have the portfolio title displayed instead of pagination, or just add the portfolio name?
Also, on portfolio items, you cannot add a widgitized sidebar, you must instead individually add content via the “extra content” box, correct?

Hi, I was wondering how easy is it to edit this theme after initial set up? Usually I use HTML based themes so I am not that familiar with WP, but my friend wants me to set up something for him so he can easily edit it in the future without any HTML knowledge.

Great theme. I am very satisfied with it however, I do have a small problem. I just upgraded to wordpress 3.8 and now my “insert media” panel is empty, when in fact I do have images in the media library. Very odd—when I try to insert media into a page, I get an empty media library (no images). But when I click on the media library within the WP dashboard, I do see all my images. Do you think this theme needs to be updated to accommodate 3.8?

I would surprised if Salient had anything to with it specifically since it does not modify the media library at all – can you confirm it’s theme related by activating another theme and seeing if it remedies the issue?

thank you for your response— I took your advice and activated “twenty thirteen” theme, and my images do indeed appear when I click “add media. But I experienced the same problem when I switched back to Salient theme. Any suggestions?
Update: I deactivated the plugins “WooCommerce” as well as Jetpack and now everything is perfect. I apologize for any frustration. Great theme!

Hello. I noticed that in the demo, the nectar slider is responsive.
When I use the nectar slider, it is almost responsive except the height does not change. So someone on an iphone is looking at a slide that is 300 px wide by 600 px tall.

Also, no matter what color I enter for the accent colors, the navigation hovers will not change. I am stuck with the demo green color. Is there a way to change these hovers without having to find it in the style sheet? If not where should I look in the style sheet? Thanks.
