i have problems with your template
1. – if i want contact page i cannot choose position on map. i dont know where and how to do it.. “link” location cannot be pressed
2. – menu layout1 - i would like to reduce size of elements (from 60px to 20px), + sum-menu of main items also have very strange css for this kind of premium template
do you suggest me to edit style.css or should i change this things somewhere in settings if it’s implemented?

Hi,
you should no have problems with the contact map. First of all, make sure you have installed correctly all the required plugins, specially the “Location Field” plugin that it is mandatory to make working this option. You can see more about requirements, here.
If you have installed the theme correctly, in your contact page you should have a option for this as you can see in this screenshot. Here just add your location (Search for a location field) and press “enter”. This will update your location in the map. Select a custom marker graphic and your contact map will be ready.
About the second query, I don´t understand well what you would like to modify. But in any case, you can edit the theme easily in two ways.
You can use the child theme, included within the same folder that the theme.
Or you can use the custom styles field you will find within Flamingo > General options. Both are Wordpress standard methods and the best Premium Themes work in this way. As you can see, the entire option panel is integrated with the native Wordpress UI too.

the theme does not include any option for this, but you could achieve this adding some custom css rules. For example, in case you would like to make the content area transparent, you could add something like this:
.content-wrapper { background-color: rgba( 255, 255, 255, 0 ); }
This will create a transparent background in this case.
Anyway, the theme was not designed to work in this way. For this reason I can´t guarantee you that making the theme working in this way will work perfectly with all the options included with the theme, specially background images, parallax effects or any other options like menus.
In this sense, you must to have into account this. Making the theme working in this way could have some conflicts with some options included with the theme.

es muy sencillo, si no quieres editar ningún archivo php, la solución más fácil es aplicar esta regla a tus estilos personalizados:
.section-header { display: none; }
De esta manera eliminarás este elemento de la plantilla de portfolio. La otra manera sería eliminar directamente el marcado desde el archivo php correspondiente. Pero el método a través de css te será más sencillo de mantener frente a updates futuras.

Tu demo se mueve de puta madre muy smooth el scrolling, y en mi pagina http://inspoir.com se mueve como el culo… No tiene modificaciones ni nada, no se xq coño va tan mal… me muero! antes de que cambiaras el contenido, como ahora, yo no había notado ningún tipo de problema al respecto. De todos modos, si vuelves a tener problemas con ello, abre un ticket de soporte y echaremos in vistazo a esto.
Cualquier plugin que sustituya el scroll también debo decir que no es una buena idea por motivos de usabilidad. Flamingo, y me remito al feedback de otros usuarios, se mueve de una manera muy suave con el scroll de navegador nativo tanto en desktop como en móvil. De modo que no deberías de tener ningún problema al respecto.
Cualquier duda nos dices, ok?

Hey I purchased this theme a couple months ago.
I just have a couple questions I’d like to address. First speed. this theme seems to take a while to load. I have been using image compression a bit to help with file size, is there anything else you can do to help.
Second: The background image doesn’t seem to scale at all on mobile devices. Which setting do I have wrong and how can I fix this.

Basically, if you feel your site is loading slow, you can use some cache plugin like W3 to speed it up. Just notice that some intensive use of images could take a little bit more time to load any site, remember to compress and optimize your graphics always.
After testing your site, I have not noticed any load speed issue with a very basic internet connection (2/3 seconds with a Google Speed load rated with 86/100. It is quite good.)
Anyway, as I tell, we will follow your ticket in order to try to help in some way.

I love this theme. I used to change my themes regularly because I’d always see one I liked more. But with Flamingo, I’ve kept it and have no plans on changing it! It’s excellent.
I was wondering whether there are plans to create a button that would launch the full screen portfolio images? I understand you can click in the arrow and it will pop up with an option for full screen but while that is beautiful, some of my customers may not see the slideshow.
Are there any plans to allow a button to launch the slideshow so I can add it to my text content, e.g. ‘Click here to launch the full screen gallery’?

you can share any page within the site easily from the main navigation, each link there have the goal to share in social services like Facebook, Twitter, Evernote… you have a lot of options in this sense always accesible from any page.

let´s see:
1. You can add a text widget to sidebars in order to create bio elements. But the siderbar has not the function to add adds from Google or custom adds.
2. The social icons are rendered via font-awesome library in order to generate retina ready graphics, so the theme is limited to this library where etsy is not included.
3. You can remove the social links in two ways. If you don´t add any from the option panel, no social option will be displayed. Or you can remove them very easy with a single custom css rule.
4. Flamingo is a Wordpress theme designed and conceptualized as a creative portfolio and not as a e-commerce site. It is for this reason that it does not include any shop page or adds integration. In this sense, some users have integrated cart66 or woocommerce by their own. In terms of styles the theme work in a basic way, but some work by your part would be needed and this is not supported in any way by our part. Officially, the theme does not integrate any e-commerce platform.

How can I update the theme without losing any data?

?It depends on how you have edited your theme.
If you are using the child theme, which is recommended it, you only need to replace all the files with the new update. When you use a child theme you create separated files like style.css that will preserve all your changes even if you update the main theme.
If you are not using a child theme. The best way to try an update, is creating a new folder inside your themes folder (wp-content/themes) via FTP. Create a new folder inside, something like flamingo-v1-33 (for example), and inside this folder copy all the new updated files.
Then open Wordpress Dashboard > Appearance > Themes and activate the new update like it is was a new theme. This process will let you check if the new update could have any difference with your customized site, in case you did some changes. If not, your site will be updated at this point or you could revert it to the older version just changing the theme/version.
Notice that if you have edited some core file, for example, header.php, in order to make any custom change. You will need to support this changes, because the new update would overwrite those customizations you did over your site.
If you have doubts where changes could be affected in a modified file by your part in front the same file in a new update. We recommend to use some file compare software like ?http://www.kaleidoscopeapp.com/
Important: Before updating any site, we always recommend to backup your files in order to prevent any data loose.
First, backup your contents from Wordpress Dashboard > Tools > Export. This process will generate a XML file with your contents. And after this step, backup your files via FTP. The most strong backup would include a data base backup too.

Thank you so much for the detailed information! Now to the technical bit, how can I adjust font size for body texts? I find that they are too small and it makes it too lengthy on a line.
You can modify the main content text using this custom rule within your custom css:
.content-wrapper p {
font-size: 15px;
line-height: 25px;
}
Just edit those values as you could need.

For the menu bar, can I have a let’s say 50% opacity background across the navigation bar (from logo to “Menu”) when hover over?

you can modify the fonts values directly from the option panel (Flamingo Options > Fonts).
About the “W” tag, you can remove it with this single custom rule:

I would recommend you to opening a support ticket in order to follow better your queries. Please, provide the URL to your site, this will help to see your theme´s configuration (menu-layout), because depending on these values solutions can be different.

If you take a look in the homepage slider http://inspoir.com you see that the italic description it’s not curly. I always have this problem with all my themes, the italic goes straight and not curly, and it’s not the font… with georgia does the same thing… I what the italic to look like this http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/images/Georgia-Italic.png curly like it shoud be. you should have not any problem displaying the italic style, specially in case of Gerogia that it is a system font in the most of OS.
I see you changed to Playfair, but anyway, if you open a support ticket and provide us with an admin user/pass we can check why it is happening this. As you prefer!

I’ve just checked the version for WP Bakery in the latest zip for the theme. Both the lib dirs – flamingo and flamingo child – contain the 3.7.3 version, not the latest, or some files have not been replaced. The changes file also shows the 3.7.3 changes, not the 3.7.4. So something is missing, causing the ongoing message that there is a new version.

Apparently, after sending the update of Flamingo theme, the plugin´s latest version was 3.7.3. Maybe it was for a few hours yet the difference when 3.7.4 was released.
The plugin will be updated with the next update of Flamingo. But in any case, do not worry because the theme is 100% functional without this latest update of the composer plugin.
You will be notified via email when a Flamingo´s new version will be available.

Según parece, después de enviar el update de Flamingo se actualizó el plugin a la última versión 3.7.4. Quizás fue por unas horas de diferencia cuando aún la 3.7.3 era la última versión disponible en ese momento.
El plugin será actualizado con la próxima actualización de Flamingo. Pero en cualquier caso, no te preocupes porque el theme es 100% funcional sin esta última actualización del plugin composer.
Serás notificado vía mail cuando una nueva versión de Flamingo esté disponible.

Visual composer plugin has now an update. With information licensing inside Flamingo theme, the only information is finally:
“Your license key is already activated on another website (loc**ngo), you should deactivate it first or obtain new license key.”
Did I miss something with this procedure or can’t we update the visual composer plugin?

the theme has a responsive stage to manage this. For example, when the theme is diplayed under a screen size under 720px, the main logo is resized in a smaller one.
