Hello,
After uploading this theme to server, I found out that there was nothing in there. The structure was different, no photo, no plugins, etc.
Do I need to start work from scratch after purchasing this theme?

I’m a bit confused – what did you have before you uploaded Salient? Just switching themes can’t delete your entire WordPress setup in any case. Did you start a new WordPress install?
This was incredibly well thought out. The Visual Composer is really awesome and is a treat to work with.
In regards to changing the background color on any given page how does one go about doing so?
And does this change the theme’s background color globally because I’d like it to apply to every page.

There’s now a css button in the top right hand corner of the page builder and you can enter this on any page to change the color:
.container-wrap {
background-color: #000!important;
}

Hi guys! Brilliant theme – everything going very well so far.
Quick question. Any way to have single slide with video run on the nectar slider and just freeze on the final frame? I can only get it to freeze on final frame when there is more than one slide, but I only want a single video.

Hey Tom!
It shouldn’t freeze on the final frame even when there’s more than one slide – what browser are you using? It’s probably getting stuck by accident but would resume upon slide transitioning back to it.
Unfortunately there’s no easy way to stop the video BG at the end because there’s quite a few things in place to make the loop work such as hover events and click events for other elements on the page. It would require a but of custom development, but if you needed it done I’m sure a dev on microlancer could help out!

My suggestion for the next update is different header layouts and the option to put 2 nectar sliders side by side in full width on the main page. Would be cool to make it look like a magazine style similar to apple’s website. Right now the only way to do this is by adding custom html.
But no complaints it’s amazing!

1. Different header options will definitely get added in eventually (hopefully the next update)
2. In 3.0 you can accomplish this by using the full width content type on your row through the page builder – this will allow the sliders in each column to extend to the edge of the screen. After that it would just be a matter of simple css to remove the spaces between the two columns to have the sliders touch.

Hi Nectar. A few more questions please. 1) Why does the Portfolio and Blog pages show the Pinterest icon, which I have not created in the Admin section. I need to replace that with Google Plus. 2) Is there any option to add links (privacy, terms, etc.) or a menu to the footer area, instead of the social icons? 3) Would be a nice option to have a separate menu for the mobile viewports and also a mobile menu that can display on the right/left side, instead of center. Thanks!

1. You can control what social media sharing buttons show up in your portfolio/blog options tab in the Salient options panel. However, there’s no option for Google+ yet – I’ll look back into adding this in future releases.
2. You would need to code them into the footer.php file, as you can only assign menus into the main footer area through the menu widget – not the copyright bar.

The email we get comes from ThemeForest and it’s just a notification saying there is an update for “Salient” available. We then need to log in to our ThemeForest accounts to download the new files; which are found under “Downloads”. We don’t get a direct download link to share.
So again, just to clarify, to get your new files (for any purchased product) simply log in to ThemeForest and go to the “Downloads” section of your account.
As was mentioned previously there is no auto update for this theme from your WordPress dashboard.
If you want to be notified from ThemeForest when an update is available for a product that you purchased you can check the box for “Get notified by email if this item is updated”. This checkbox is found when you are in the “Downloads” section of your ThemeForest account.

Hi ThemeNectar, All is generally going well with this theme. I have a question about columns. I have a grid of 2 rows and 3 columns. The images in the columns are not aligning left to the text in landscape browser orientations. But, when I view in portrait orientations, the images align with the text. Is there are way to make the images flush with the width of the column? I made an example of my issue here: http://www.joshua-butler.com/portfolio/column_issue.png
Is there a way to add margins and padding to individual column instances?

Yes, this is because the images are not big enough to fill all the space in the column on that view so they just center. If you can supply me with a URL I can give you the css you need to fix that

pre-purchase question: does this theme allows a non-full-width slider? (so a large slider (fixed width?) to show images for a single project, but i don’t want it to be full-width)

Yes, there’s two sliders you can use anywhere that are not full width and the Nectar Slider itself has an option to not be full width as well

You can’t leave the files named “default.po” & “default.mo” – They must be named in accordance to your language such as “fr_FR.po” for French.

Happy user of this theme here, After upgrading to the newest theme version, various broken elements of the woocommerce shopping cart are scattered across my header despite the cart nav being turned off…is there a fix for this?

The update process in the Document is a bit sparse. It essentially says “Delete your current site and re-upload the new one”. This sounds like a bit of overkill. For instance all I want to do is update the portfolio page with the Black coloring in the SORTING area.
Is there any way to do this without wiping my whole website!?? I certainly hope so.

You’re not deleting your site at all – you’re just deleting the theme in order to place the newly updated version in its place. All of your sites content and settings are actually stored in the database rather than the theme folder itself and will persist after deleting the current theme you have and uploading the new one.

Well that was certainly the fastest response I’ve ever gotten on a support forum. heh.
Forgive my novice question. But I cant seem to be able to find how to Delete the Salient Theme so I can reinstall it. I go to Dashboard.. Appearance.. but all I can do is Customize it. I see no Delete option.
In my FTP I do see a Themes/Salient folder. Do I just delete that and then reinstall?

If you would prefer to stay in the admin panel instead of using FTP you just need to deactivate the theme first – once you do that you’ll see a remove button when clicking on the theme to delete it

HI I have updated to 3.0, I have been making my pages in the original way and now want to changed them to the page builder. It has kept the structure of the pages but have gaps between each of the rows with the elements in them. It has also changed the pages you created.
1. Do I have to make the pages all again if I want to use the page builder?
2. Did you recreate all the pages in the 3.0 demo version using the page builder?
I also noticed that unless you changed the pages to using the page builder you couldn’t use the pie chart or put the google map on a page, is that rite?

2. I didn’t have to recreate any pages, I just converted them and adjusted the settings slightly to make everything perfect. The new dummy data file also includes all fully converted pages

Wow this Update is Sick! I have to mention a small Bug. The Basic integrated Font ( Open sans) doesn’t Redner German Umlauts. I had to replace the Font manually. It Would be Great to have this integrated in the next Update….

Hey again,
no – the only way you could have the theme options logo showing up larger is if the old admin stylesheet was still there as the one included with 3.0 has sizing definitions. This was confirmed to show big on some upgrading users setups (as expected) until they cleared the cache. If you’re still experiencing it after clearing your cache than I would assume you have an incomplete updated theme. Did you delete your current one completely before uploading the newly download one? Also, could I check this out for you via logging in? If so shoot me an email at themenectar@gmail.com

hi! I’ve just tried to upload again i have the same problem. i cleared my cache and deleted the old file, but when i have uploaded 3.1.5 it has left a large watermark on my dashboard and has misaligned my live site? what am i doing wrong? i never used to have this issue!
