Hi, Great theme! We’re loving it! I’ve ran into what I hope is a simple fix problem. Before yesterday the website’s background was white (which I wanted) and now on several pages it shows the purple-blue bubbles that are shown on the “dummy” picture. I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to figure out what went wrong. Please help! Here’s a link to show what is happening. Thanks! http://www.xcellinc.net/about-us-2/where-we-are

Hi,
Sorry for taking so long to reply – being quite busy with The7 theme update.

Please refer to this article in our KB: http://support.dream-theme.com/knowledgebase/how-to-remove-blinking-blue-background-wide-layout/

Thanks!

Hi there!

I’m looking for a new theme for one of our bigger projects. It’s really great which versatile possibilities you offer!!!

The only thing ‘i’m struggling with:

I saw in your portfolio different other themes. They were launched, but I don’t see long term updates. Always only 6 month or a bit longer.

We urgently need a long term reliable theme with regular updates. Can you guarantee this for “the7”??

Best regards, Petra :-)

Hi dears!

Did you forget me??

BR, Petra

Hi,
Sorry for taking so long to reply – being quite busy with The7 theme update.

I’ll be brutally honest. We will update The7 as long as it sells well. More updates we’re releasing – stronger the sales. So I hope answer is “for very long time” ;)

Hi,

Quick question. In terms of the way The7 demo works on an iPad, etc, when viewing a portfolio layout, it seems you always have to touch twice to view. One touch pulls up the portfolio name and then you much touch the very tiny ‘view’ icon.

Is there any way to set things so that it can be one touch ON the displayed image to view the item?

This is really important for us as we are pretty much building for tablet viewing.

Oh, and also, are there any plans to add a more mobile friendly menu navigation?

Thanks

Well, I see that if you turn off everything, the portfolios can be made ‘one touch’. While this is really great, it would be optimal to have a title of some kind. Even if we couldn’t have your gorgeous gradient hovers, a simple bit of identifying text would help so much. Is there any little setting I might still be missing?

Thanks

Hi,
If you’re building site generally for tablet uses and want to use The7 as base, you’ll need to modify many JavaScripts. Unfortunately we cannot make those changes to theme, since we need to have a balance of theme usability across all sorts of devices – not only tablets. Sorry.

Hi again. I’m a bit confused by your response. Perhaps I was not clear, or as I’d imagine, you’re utterly exhausted after this recent sprint to update and are just making your way through all these piled up questions. Which would be perfectly understandable. If, however, it was me, let me try once more.

I understand that pretty ALL of the best themes are not yet completely optimized for mobile viewing and tablet use. In general, after running a series of comprehensive exercises built with the five top themes (my partner owns them all), I found The7 to be, while not the fastest, certainly the most versatile on tablets at this time and, given the results of my testing, we are likely going to build at least an MVP with it.

That said, the arc of development is bending toward mobile and considering all the brilliant work you have put into The7, I just wanted to say will all the best intentions (and not just for my purposes) you might want to get some sleep and then reconsider that ‘sorry’. The dev team or teams that pulls this off first will take a lot of cash off the table. Perhaps you have an entirely new ‘mobile optimized’ theme in mind with all the structure and ‘bells and whistles’ of The7. That would certainly make sense from both an economic and marketing point of view.

Whatever you do next, I’m sure it will be amazing. In the meantime, once again, simply, is there a simple way to have Title Text appear on the lower dark gradient hover and still have the portfolios be one touch click through on a tablet?

If you’ve got any other general thoughts about what I’ve written above, I’d be happy to hear them.

Thanks

Dear

I am trying to remove the Below from style.css. I have tried both from WP backend and also from ftp css.

As soon I remove the text, the front end changes the layout to ” Wide and responsive ” and removes all the elements such as logo, change font style, font size etc…. )

How can I prevent this happening and still be able to remove the below code safely.

Please assist. Thank You

Is there any way to hide the sliders for mobile phones (with small screens)?

Hi,
Sorry for taking so long to reply – being quite busy with The7 theme update.

Technically it is possible (by bits of custom CSS). I can assist with it. Which sliders exactly are we talking about (theme uses lots of sliders in different places)? Thanks!

I would like to know if i can build a homepage with an slider and then a masonry portfolio but WITH it’s filters… is this possible?

Hi,
Sorry for taking so long to reply – being quite busy with The7 theme update.

Yes, you can.

I can’t find any way to do this. By the way, i haven’t seen any filters in the HOMEPAGE LAYOUTS that the DEMO has.

I just figure this out, thanks.

yet to be reviewed, do you guys think the new update would be finally available today

Hi,
It’s still in review queue :(

:) no problem, you`ve done ur best, thanks

Great Theme. I need to make the blog posts masonry or grid layout shows the articles on white background, like the Slash Theme. the css i want to apply is:

position: relative; margin-left: 7.5px; margin-right: 7.5px; background-color: #fff; height: 100%; overflow: hidden;

I tried add it to the custom css in the admin but no change, can you let me know where to add it to affect the look of the blog grid display.

Thanks.

Hi,
Not 100% sure what exactly you need to achieve.. Can you please provide a link to a mockup? Thanks!

look at www.ableton.com I need the blog post to look similar, white background,...Thanks

Hi,
[Please keep your customization in the “custom css” field of theme options OR use child theme to secure your customization during theme updates.]

I advice you to use FireBug (FireFox plugin for web-developers) or Chrome web developers tools to define which CSS selectors you must use to overwrite theme styles (The7 is wast themes, so most selectors are complicated). Here’s an awesome screencast by WooThemes on how to use it: http://vimeo.com/20917974 .

I really like your theme it is fast and highly configurable and well thought out… I have a unique idea for it that no one else has done and would be a first I think… MENU BUTTONS… simply buttons (could be a graphic) you can place on a page that will bring up an extra menu with page links and possible html in it (pictures, links to .pdf files etc… mega menuish) just an idea… keep up the excellent work…

Hi,
Thanks!

We were actually thinking of some sort of shortcode like this ;)

i just uploaded the latest version, and now my testimonilas, blog, tabs, team and most pages not showing data

Hi,
Please, submit a request via our online help-desk http://support.dream-theme.com – we’ll get back to you ASAP and take a look what is wrong. ?Thanks!

how do u make the background move in the sliders like in your sample

Hi,
Have no idea! This is cunning witchcraft of our designer and Slider Revolution :D

You can import newest dummy for Slider Revolution (comes in full theme package) and/or refer to SR docs for details.

How do you enable box layout? Even when I select box mode here it stays in wide layout.

Is there any chance that i can migrate mi blog posts into the portofolio elements of the7?

Hi,
I’m afraid you cannot automatically transfer blog posts to portfolio. And what’s wrong with blog in The7 can I ask? Thanks!

They do not have filters and the masonry visuals are better in the portfolio

Thanks for feedback!

Show when will the version of the “ajax” loading portfolio be available? Thanks DJ

Hi,
Already released ;)

uuups, hold on! sorry, it’s still on review :(

Hello,

I have latest version Wordpress 3.8.1 Dutch

When I activate GO pricing, Contact form 7 and Revolution slider (latest versions) there is no problem. But when I also activate The7 team it shows this problem:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 122880 bytes) in /public/sites/www.troof.eu/test/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php on line 472

When I activate one of the three plugins it works. Activating other plugins also works. Only if one of these three are all activated together gives the problem

Can I get some help? I need my site online asap.

EDIT: When I remove my language “nl_NL” from “Wp-config.php” it works. I guess it’s a language problem for all the newest versions??

Can there be a fix for this?

Yours sincerely

I also have problem with Woocommerce. When I get into “Settings it gives this problem:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 491520 bytes) in /public/sites/www.troof.eu/site/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/admin/settings/settings-init.php on line 640

When I activate one of the three plugins it works. Activating other plugins also works. Only if one of these three are all activated together gives the problem

Hi,
It’s not exactly the theme that causes this issue. It’s combination of theme and numerous/resource-demanding plugins. You need to simply increase the memory limit. Please refer to this article in our KB for details: http://support.dream-theme.com/knowledgebase/allowed-memory-size-error/ Thanks!

“no content”

Could you please update your demo content too?

We need to tweak it a bit. You can expect the updated dummy and full demo on Monday evening or Tuesday.

thanks guys, cheers :)

we can not wait, come on guys, shoot your new update to kill, I saw the changes, getting much better, you rock :)

Hi,
Already released ;)

uuups, hold on! sorry, it’s still on review :(

I know, I have been checking your review status since last night, It`s like I`m waiting for a love letter:)

Hello, Does “the7” theme support custom post types?

Hi,
Custom post types (CPT) are essential part of almost every premium themes (including The7): portfolio, media albums, slideshows and other stuff is powered by CPT.

So yes, The7 supports CPT :)

Hello guys!
Today we’re focused on final testing and uploading The7 v.3.2.0 update (I’m sure you already noticed some AJAX elements and other improvements on our theme demo)!

Since this is major update, it requires all my attention. Therefore I will not be able to answer your comments today. I hope to process them on this weekend.

Thank you so much for understanding!

Kind regards,
Miroslav (from Dream-Theme)
