Hi, so I’ve reached a bit of a hiccup. I upload rather hi res images as my featured images and for some reason they aren’t showing up on my home page. All I can see is plain text! Please help! www.sidewaystosound

Hi I’ve noticed you mention that this theme cannot filter “on the fly” categories, except for the home page.
But is it possible with additional plugin? Like setting up custom taxonomies and custom post format for a grid layout similar as your home page (example with the WCK plug-in http://wordpress.org/plugins/wck-custom-fields-and-custom-post-types-creator/).
I’m looking to be able to navigate on a grid page layout (audio category) such as yours, but also filtered by taxonomy, to be able to listen directly to the filtered sound (without going into the detailed post itself).

Hi Eric,
WCK plugin are making custom taxonomies (categories), but adding new ‘category’ isn’t enough if you want to filter them. You’ll need to customise Template file in order to have that.
Filtering “on the fly”is done by javascript, when you’ve already load your page and then by filtering you are just hiding certain content and re-ordering visible content.
For audio category you can use Audio Post Type and then you can have SoundCloud widget or etc, which people can listen without going into the detailed post itself. So you should just make Audio category with grid layout and fill that with Audio Post Type.

For example if I use your Audio post type in grid layout, can I list audio categories using the left menu to filters various audio post categories (not another post categories), will the menu with audio categories remain “visible”? Hi, I found that categories are not working fine in URL creation. It makes http://www.silainternetu.cz/category/facebook link, but nobody wants /category/ in the URL structure.
I have partically fixed that by creating manual links from menu to links like: http://www.silainternetu.cz/facebook so I can view category on the best and also shortest link available. Now I am facing problem, that in the detail of article, there is a light grey link indicates a category, which leads to the old crap link http://www.silainternetu.cz/category/facebook
I am sure, that more people are looking for this fix. Can you give me some advice or tell me how to fix this URL creation issue in better way?

Hi, ‘category’ in the category links is pure Wordpress thing and there is a reason why is there. I believe that’s a perfomance issue, because of the way wordpress handles permalinks (rewriting links can be pretty ‘costly’ and can slow down your site). They are aware that not everybody like ‘category’ in their category URLs, so their proposed solution is to specify your own ‘category base’ (Settings -> Permalinks).
From your comment I suppose that you’ve found a some kind of a fix for your problem and from description of your problem I can strongly suggest you to find another solution 
First of all as you can see you category links aren’t displayed only in your browser’s address bar, but they are printed all over your site (on single article page, when ever you print links to your categories, ie widgets, and so on). Second, you are going to have a problem if you have a post or page with the same name as one of your categories.
I would suggest you this two solutions:
1) Specify your own ‘category base’. This can be as short as one character (ie just ‘c’).
2) There are WP plugins that handle this issue. Some do just that, but that are others which have this functionality also. Please be carefull which one you choose because this can hurt your site if turns out that plugin you’ve choosen don’t work correctly (or pluging author decides to stop supporting it). Maybe you can try Yoast’s SEO plugin, which is probably best WP SEO plugin. This will handle your basic SEO optimization and has a ‘Strip the category base (usually /category/) from the category URL.’ checkbox in it’s settings.

Hi, I found, when you enable “right sidebar on front page” in Theme setting, it will affect categories with “invisible block on right side”. So the articles will not be shown in the full page category area as they will normally do.
Can you fix that?

there is an option to choose “full width” template when you are adding new pages, but only for pages.
You’ll need to customise theme in order to have full width posts.

Well, this exact function is programmed by you in template and It is not simply working well – it affects other pages as well, when It is activated. Sounds like a bug more than a problem on a customer side.

Hi, I can’t translate Form. I am using WPML (with WPML String Translation). I tried edit .po file (there is no “message” and “your e-mail”), I tried with string translation (the same, no “message”, no “your e-mail” strings).
For po files I use Poedit.
I also tried add gettext function on my own, but I can’t find those strings in files… (I found comment form in functions.php).
With other strings I didn’t have any problems. I translated comment form and everything… expect contact form.

1) tabs – the x to delete tab is actually adding a tab not deleting it. How can i delete tabs?

Hi, 1) It seems that this is a CSS issue, that’s the reason buttons are overlaping, can you send us a private message and will send you a fix.
2) Enabling HTML inside page builder elements is scheduled for the next update. If you want we also can send you a quick fix just for tabs.

There seems to be a problem with the Front page manager: when I add a page manually in the manager and then update that page, it gets removed from the manager. Can this be fixed?

Hi, currently you can’t filter displayed posts by category in that way (on the fly). But you can control, via multiple select theme setting, from which categories posts on the front page should be displayed.

Hi thanks for the great theme. I happened to purchase an older version of the theme, in which “grid for categories” or “filter home grid with category” is not possible. From reading the previous comments, you said the newer version of the theme would fix this.
I wonder how to do that will still keeping all the settings and content? Will I need to go to my account to download the theme again … ?

you should use theme version 1.2.1. Nevertheless, from Theme Settings/General Settings you can choose for which categories you want to use grid layout (it’s also described in Documentation)

I downloaded the theme from my account’s download section on 2/13. How come after update the theme is still showing 1.2 version. Perhaps I did something incorrectly …

you should just check the date of upload in download section. If it’s 6th February then this is the newest version.
Also you can open Theme Settings and in General Settings you should have option to choose for which categories you want to have grid layout.

I actually want all of my categories to have grid layout, so I do not select any particular category. And it doesn’t seem to work. (When I select one category, it works).

Hi, I redownload the newest theme from my envato account and after setting up, very frustrating that it still shows 1.2. Is it true that 1.2.1 will shows on my WP admin as 1.2 or is it still something that I do wrong…

I have updated to the 1.2 version. and grid for categories enabled. Which seems to work.. But now i have a very large/wide white space/block on top of my category pages which messes up the layout.
“Fixed: after setting the Basic block image height to a value and then back to ‘select’, it was fixed” <<<this didn’t work for me. Any ideas?

is there any possibility to create the required image sizes for the ubergrid theme for existent images which are uploaded in the past? I´ve seen, that new images are set with the different sizes which ubergrid has set upon the normal large, medium and thumb image size but if I have many existent images inside my wp installation the required image sizes are missing, so ubergrid takes the big image size which makes the whole site very slow and lazy.

I emailed you guys regarding some issues I’m having with the theme and haven’t received a reply from you, I’d really appreciate it if you could help me. Below are my issues.
1) The post heading generated by me shows up as part of the sentence in the in the grid layout view’s post description. Is there a way to fix this?
2) Sometime the descriptions don’t appear on the posts in the grid layout view, some get cut off.
3) The social media icons don’t appear on the sidebar.

1) Can you send us exact link to the page where title is a part of the sentance? Grid post description is actually an excerpt, which doesn’t add post title to it. Did you add some code/plugin that alters the way excerpt ‘works’?
2) There is a limited space for post content, which is different if is there an image (or other media) in a box or not. If there is no media the content of a box can take full height of a box, if there is it can take approximately half of it’s height. On your screnshot there is an image, that isn’t loaded properly for some reason, and that’s why box content doesn’t take full height and it looks cut off.
3) You’ve added “Century Gothic” font, with !important CSS statemant, and that overrides all the theme’s fonts including one (icomoon) used to display social icons. That’s why social icons don’t appear.
