you could be running out of memory – try to add this line to your wp-config.php file which is located at the root of your WordPress install:
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '128M');
If that doesn’t help, you’ll probably need to contact your hosting company to ask where the shortage of resources is coming from (they’ll be able to check for the internal server error on their side in the server log)

Gallery Only Example – Not working

When I try to add my own vimeo video or even use the same video as your demo, it does not fit the page correctly. It seems as though you must be doing something different?
here is the embed code I am using that has the same video as your demo and its not working, all I get is a horizontal scroll bar under the video. No player control etc.

I’ve inherited work on a website that makes use of the Salient theme, and am interested in using the Nectar Slider. However, nowhere in my WP admin panel is there any mention of the Nectar Slider… I only have the Home Slider visible in the sidebar. Here’s a screenshot showing the absence of Nectar Slider on both the sidebar and the Nectar shortcode list:

Hey Hecface, you’re on a very outdated version of the theme before the slider was added. It was introduced in v2.0 and the current version is v3.1.5 – please update your theme by downloading the theme again from ThemeForest to gain access

there are two issues bothering me and I’d like to ask for your help.
1. The page had a “recent posts” section on the landing page, it displayed the 4 most recent posts next to each other as usual. Since updating to 3.0.5, only 3 of them remain in the same row, the fourth is in the next one under them. It freaked me out so I removed this section, but it’s a good feature and I’d like to use it again. What could have gone wrong?
2. Again, after updating, I received feedback that some characters (?, ú, ?, ó,...) are not displayed when viewing the page on Android devices. I checked on different Android phones and tablets and it really occurs (I did not check on iOS yet). “Load Ext. Characters in Default Font” is ticked in, we use Open Sans, there are no problems on desktop computers – what could cause this issue?

Is it possible to have the nectar a % of the browser height instead go either full screen or a fixed pixel height?
It would be nice to show just a slight part of the website below the slider regardless of browser size.

Hey caroline1978, for now this would require modding the nectar-slider.js file as there’s no way to really accomplish it with css alone. I’ve noted this option for development though

Hi, before I buy a theme I always check the mobile version. At this time i´m interested in the woocommerce compatibility, so I checked the live preview, and there is a thing that i´m not sure if is an error. Every time that I pressed the checkout button, the page crashed on my phone, everything is perfect until that very moment. Is that ok?

We are having this issue since version 3.0 of salient. You can replicate looking for budamail in google.

Is there anyway Google could have not propagated your description yet? Have you requested a crawl on your webmaster tools?

Doing a quick test, I searched for your site on another search engine (bing) and found the meta description is there as expected http://www.bing.com/search?q=budamail.com&qs=n&form=QBRE&pq=budamail.com&sc=3-12&sp=-1&sk=&cvid=3effd3835a864bd396332d25c9b64371 I believe the issue with google might have something to do with the OG tags inserted on your pages – looking into this more now

You’re welcome – additional testing and research on the subject reveals that Google now can dynamically change your meta description if it feels the page content is more valuable: “Google will sometimes use the meta description of a page in search results snippets, if we think it gives users a more accurate description than would be possible purely from the on-page content” https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/35624?hl=en
This means that for whatever reason Google feels your page content (which in the case of your home page is a video at the top) is more important than your meta description itself. I’ve noted your other pages using the page content instead of the defined meta description as well.
Also I’ve noted that your description can change based on what’s searched for. For example run a Google search for this:
http://budamail.com/ Servicio de Email Marketing Precios súper económicos. and you’ll see that the meta description changes to suit it.and you’ll see the description alter to fit that (took the text from a section on your home page)

I’m not sure if there’s a way right now honestly. It seems to just be Google’s new way of handling descriptions which I’m not a fan of. For example, compare the ThemeForest Bing description with the Google desctription and you’ll see Bing actually respects the meta description set where as Google just grabs the page content.

hey Salient team! On my main page, the embeded video in the nectar slider is really Interlaced pretty badly. Seeing as this is my portfolio and i really need it to work nicely can you tell my why this is happening? The video is fine on the actual page and on vimeo….

just wondering, when you first load the page, the video sits lower down, is this normal, i have tried lost of different configurations to try sort this out!
This is actually somewhat of a bug – what’s happening is the initial calculations for the position are being made before the video embed loads in so the height is completely wrong. This then gets corrected on scroll since it recalculates after it’s loaded in. I’ve noted to try and sort this for the next release

I have an issue with the fonts and some graphics when viewing the website from Firefox. I’m on a Mac (Mavericks) with the latest version of firefox. The fonds went to a default Times New Roman and the icons plus other graphics do not display correctly. All other browsers are ok. Let me know what I can do to fix it.

Firefox prevents font files from being included off of a different domain for security reasons, so if you’re using a CDN, try and exclude those from it.
What are the font extensions you guys use? Also where are the icons placed (what url)? Thanks

All of the fonts are located inside of the css/fonts directory and each font uses .oft, .svg, .ttf and .woff – all of these actually get included relatively in the style.css, font-awesome.min.css, steadysets.css & linecon.css files. Just search for @font-face to find the correct locations in each file

Hey offidea, the dummy data file mimics that of the live demo – I see you’re having an issue with getting some items to go in from your other comment as it says those items already exist. Is this your first time importing the dummy data file or are you trying to overwrite a setup you already has going?
