Dear Qode Interactive Team,
We have some questions about using the W3 Total Cache Plugin together with the Revolution Slider. Is there a way to stop the slider plugin parsing its css files into the head element? We would like to manually add its files into the combined cached css file which is generated by the W3 Total Cache plugin. Furthermore, it appears that the Revolution Slider’s files are parsed into every page – even when there is no slider needed. If the above solution was not advisable, would there at least be a way to conditionally avoid the plugin loading? This could save us resources for visitors requesting certain pages where there is no need for a slider.
In general we are satisfied with the theme but we need more hints on how to drastically reduce page load before we can stage our project.

Thank you for your response. We will try to find it out. I have two other questions, please: 1. We would like to build a javascript detection to conditionally activate page transition effects. Otherwise the screen would remain blank for noscript users. How do we globally turn on page transition if javascript runtime is available? 2. We created category links in the portfolio element pages (just below the title) by using get_term_link($term) method instead of parsing the portfolio categories’ names only. These anchor elements lead to a archive.php template view of your theme where all elements of the selected category are shown. We do not like this method very much. Is it possible to create a link to a certain portfolio category by filling your shortcode with parameters for instance?

1. This is custom work and it would require some time to modify js. You could give it a try by editing ajax.js (ajax.min.js) file on “document ready” part
2. Unfortunately, portfolios are custom post types, and we didn’t support category pages for portfolio post types.

Hi Qode, Thanks for the response. Regarding 1.: You are suggesting we should alter something in document_ready() function of ajax.js. We would like to change $qode_options_central[‘page_transitions’] which is in functions.php from 0 as default value to the real desired value only if javascript is available. Is there a “global” switch variable for the page transition effect somewhere within javascript that we could use?

Hey Gloria,
If JavaScript is not available, then what’s the point of adding new JavaScript code, as it will not get executed. Problem is that with this theme (and all other themes) JavaScript is so widely used, that not having it activated will result in broken web site. Those are modern web sites, very interactive and based on JavaScript

Hi, of course, we do understand this. Although, a website should at least offer basic functionality with page transitions turned off (= javascript turned off). Especially for commercial websites this is crucial. Showing a blank page is a clear message to the visitor to leave the page.
As a solution to this problem we would like to switch on page transitions (from “no animation” to some other value) only if javascript is supported by the users’ browser.
In ajax.js there is for example:
if(newHTML.find(’.content_inner’).hasClass(‘updown’)){
animation = ‘ajax_updown’;
The question is: should we alter the .content_inner css class from within ajax.js? Is this the right location?
Okay, we have a temporary solution. We switched off page transistions in Qode admin options. We the then use our own child function.php to embed our own child ajax.js (or minified version). In ajax.js we set animation variable to our needs both in slideOutOldPage and slideInNewPage and we comment out the else-case (no_animation) in slideInNewPage. This does the job.
Visitors with javascript enabled will enjoy ajax animations and visitors without javascript will see at least blog, imprint and contact information, etc…
We now have to deal with the hidden logo but this can be solved somewhere in CSS.

I’ve installed the theme today and it works perfectly except for revolution slider. When I click on Revolution Slider in the wp-admin left menu, it gives me a blank page.

one pre-sales question;
When you go to the portfolio full width for example and click on one of the images (Graphic design category for example) – can I link it to and create a full screen slider for that particular category – no lightbox – just like how it looks on your Home-photography demo??
hope I explained it ok, basically want all of my portfolio categories to open up into a full screen slider for each category.

Hi, when using other script/plugins on a page, they work at first but when you navigate to other pages and then go back to the page, it doesn’t work.
Is there a way to fix the script conflicts caused by the page fade animation?
Also, turning off the fade doesn’t work. The page still fades/animates causing script issues.
