Do I need to create a child theme or does this them update within admin?

Thanks.

Nevermind again

Hi Cherndon79,

you can use the child theme if you prefer it, it is included within the package. In both cases you can use the theme via the admin panel.

In case you could have any other doubt, please, open a support ticket and we will try to help with.

Greetings!

Hi guys,

Why does the “Portfolio” template seem to not support contents on top of it?

I’ve been customizing the “Portfolio” template with images on top etc (to imitate the home page from the demo), but it doesn’t show up when I preview/save it.

Hi knmel,

‘Portfolio’ is a special kind of template, for this reason it comes “pre-configurated”. If you want to have a page where adding any kind of contents, you can use a “Default page” template and using the page builder to create your own layout. Notice that the “Project Grid” widget allows you to add a similar grid based in the projects you have included in your portfolio.

In case you would like to modify the ‘Portfolio’ template, you can do this editing ‘single-portfolio.php’ file.

Hope it will help.

Cheers!

Hello,

Great theme. Just got it. However, is it possible to have the main layout (I guess Agency 1 with diagonal layout) but with the Agency 3 header?? And if so, how do I achieve it?

Hi,

I´m not sure about what you would like to configure. Do you mean mixing ‘Angled layout’ with ‘Minimal Layout’? If it is the situation, this is not possible because they are different layouts. The main difference between them is that the second one has not media backgrounds available. Both are for different proposals at the end, it should have no sense to mix them really.

Maybe you are trying to mix the ‘Angled layout’ with the ‘Menu Layout 3’, is this possible? In that case you only need to activate the content layout and menu layout from the general options within the option panel.

Hope it will help.

Cheers!

Yes, I meant mixing the ‘Angled layout’ with the ‘Menu Layout 3’.

Is there documentation? Coz I can’t seem to find one from the download folder.

Hi knmel,

you can configure these settings directly from the option panel, in this way:

Content Layout -> Flamingo Options > General > General Layout Style

Menu Layout -> Flamingo Options > General > Menu layout

You have the complete documentation available within your downloaded package or directly here.

Hope it will help.

Cheers!

I have run into a small issue with trying to add checkboxes into a contact 7 form through the template.

For some reason they are showing up as text areas.

Similar thread here is it helps…

http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-contact-form-7-checkboxes-do-not-appear-in-safari-or-chrome

Thank you so much for your support so far by the way! I really appreciate it very much!

Hi Anna,

please, open a private support ticket and provide us an admin user a pass to your site. We will check this closer. Notice in advance that these elements are rendered in a different way depending on the browser you are using.

Cheers! :)

I love this theme, my only concern is within the project pages, for the average client viewing work, I think it is hard to tell that you can go to the next project within a project.

The arrows on the left and right are very small, I actually figured it out by mistake. I was wondering was it a way that the cursor/pointer can change into an arrow with next or previous project name when hoovering to the left or right just as the arrows do when hoovering left or right on the home page in the hero/slider area?

Also, is there any way the back to portfolio area can be placed at the top somewhere in case a client doesn’t scroll down to the bottom?

I love the way it works, but I have to keep in mind those that aren’t as tech savvy as designers to figure these things out.

I hope you understand what I’m asking. If not, please let me know.

Thanks.

Hi chendon79,

you could make the arrows bigger or change colors with a single CSS rule in a very easy way.

In case of the ‘back portfolio’ button, you could replace it or adding custom buttons with the widget created for this at the beginning of each project stream. This it would be easy too.

Thanks one more time about your interest in our themes.

Greetings!

Thanks, one last question. Ok…is there a way to have the ” next project” and ” prev project ” text show with the arrows as you scroll down without hoovering to the left or right (no color fill just white background)? If so, that would be great.

My main concern is that the average client won’t know to hoover left or right to go to prev or next project if the text doesn’t show with arrows initially, I think the words with the arrow would help it become more visible.

If ” < prev project” or next project>” is visible when they scroll up or down (with no hoover), I think that will help clients see it and then the color fills in after hoover (as it does currently).

Does that make sense, hope so? Would love if this was a choice in admin area without having to add CSS, think it would be an option others would like to have (if it’s not already an option). Thanks.

Hi,

these modifications would be possible making some CSS changes. If you view the theme in an iPad you will see how the text and arrows are always visible (you can resize your browser window too). So using part of that CSS you could achieve making always visible the text and the arrows to paginate between projects.

Greetings!

Hi, just one quick question…

can I somehow disable the little pink underline that show up under the current page in the main nav menu (at the top) there is no way to change the colour of this in the theme settings and I cant seem to find it very easily in the css.

Maybe a line I can just throw into the custom css?

thank you!

Hi Anna!

you can adjust this detail just adding this single rule to your custom styles:

.navigation ul .current-menu-item a,
.navigation ul .current_page_item a,
body.single-post .navigation ul .current_page_parent a { border-bottom: 2px solid #ffea00; }

This will change the red line with a yellow one. Just modify the color value to your needs.

Greetings!

Is it possible to get the map on the contact page to appear in the top section, rather than the bottom? :)

Hi!

If you would like to modify the map position I recommend you using the page prefix in your css. I mean, for example a contact page has an ID of this kind > page-id-XXX. So having into account this, you can proceed in this way:

.page-id-xxx #map-canvas { top: 0; }

Hope it will be useful for you.

Greetings!

Thanks, that worked! :)

Hello! Your Flamingo theme is just about one of the most beautiful themes out there. I am very interested in purchasing it but have a few questions. Do forgive if my questions are very simple but I am new with all of this.

Is it possible to make the most recent portfolio posts and blog posts visible on the roll-down page such as they do it on this theme? http://themeforest.net/item/patti-parallax-one-page-wordpress-theme/full_screen_preview/7068682. (of course using your lovely approach)

Also, in your demo, you have an overview of ‘theme features’. Is it possible to change these titles/descriptions?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards, Ascha

Hi Ascha,

you can create default pages and add there your last projects or posts from the blog using the page builder widgets. Here you can take a look to the available components within the theme.

The only point that it is not available is the one page functionality, clicking an option in the menu and scroll to the are, this theme is multi page.

I´m not sure about the ‘theme features’ query. Let me know a little bit more and I will try to explain it better.

Anyway, thank you very much about your interest in Flamingo!

Greetings!

HI! Thanks for prompt answer :-) I want to describe the services I offer in my company, and I was wondering if the ‘theme features’ in your demo – right after ‘Unique Layout’ – is something can be changed?

Thanks!

Yes, you can modify any content within the site using the page builder help. This system is very easy to use and powerful, in this sense I would recommend you taking a look to the online documentation in order to know more about how the theme works and if it covers your needs. You can take a look to the documentation here.

Hope it will be useful :)

Cheers!

Hello,

Can we really update the WPBakery Visual Composer ? I updated my theme to the last version few minutes ago and there is one update that I can’t do -> WPBakery Visual Composer (telling me that there’s no archive available).

I use the Wordpress 8.1 and Visual Composer (version 3.6.14.1. Please update to version 4.0.3).

Thanks in advance!

Hi matvej,

you can´t update VC because the premium license is part of Flamingo, not a trasferible one. In this sense we will update the builder each time we update the theme or VC gets some important update. So it will be updated with the next Flamingo update.

Cheers!

Hello,

Thank you for having let me know that fast! I thought it was something wrong going with my template or wordpress installation. Thanks!

Best regards, Matvej.

Hey VanKarWai,

wanted to inform about a bug I discovered and was wondering if other Users experience this too.

When using the Themes custom Contact Form 7 formular, which is great by the way, the senders e-mail address (from the field “[email* your-mail placeholder “E-mail”]”) does not display the e-mail entered in this field in the mail one receives from the contact form – instead it shows “[your-email]@post.webmailer.de” as the sender of the mail and also shows this in the body of the mail.

I tried deactivating all other plugins, but that didn’t help. When I change the field back to Contact Form 7 default ”<p>Your E-Mail-Address (Required)<br /> [email* your-email] </p>” I can see the entered address of the sender again and it also displays the entered e-mail address correctly in the body of the mail.

Any idea how to fix this, because receiving messages, but not the e-mail address entered makes the contact form kind of pointless :/

Hope this is an easy fix, if I should find a solution I will post it here.

Thanks!

Hi!

at the moment nobody has reported something similar. We will check this closer in order to confirm if this bug is present. I recommend you opening a support ticket in order to follow better this issue.

Greetings!

Hey there,

I copied the code for the Contact Form 7 from the documentation which states: <p>[email* your-mail placeholder “E-mail”]</p> but it actually should be: <p>[email* your-Email placeholder “E-mail”]</p>

If anyone else is experiencing similar problems I would recommend adding the “E” in “your-mail”. I suppose this should also be changed in the documentation.

Take care and thanks for the great help!

Hello,

The favicon appears on all pages, except the the blog!

A quick fix?

Nikolay

Hi Nikolay,

this is weird because if you take a look to the demo, the favicon is displaying correctly for each page. Please, open a support ticket and let´s review this detail closer.

Cheers!

Hey! Great Theme! Although im having an issue here.

I dont know why is this happening, but I am trying to use an image as the background image of the portfolio. I can see it on the admin page as its set to “fullscreen image”, but in the website it does not appear.

The background img on the website is always the background image of the latest project i upload.

How can i fix it?

The url is: www.sitedacasa.com

Hi!

I can´t check your site version. But in any case, I recommend you to update the theme to the last version in order to fix some old issues.

Remember that we can´t provide support for non verified accounts. You must to be logged in with the account you purchased the item, this is the only way we have to check this.

Hope it will help.

Greetings!

Hi, is possible put the latest works on portfolio in homepage?

Hi tipo,

you can add, using a page builder widget, a grid with your works in the homepage, just select the number to show and you will have a complete grid like in the portfolio page into any page in your site.

Thanks about your interest in Flamingo! :)

Hi!

Great theme! Before I purchase, I have a quick question.

Does this theme include an audio (like for podcasts) format shortcode or plugin?

Thank you!

Hi Ashley,

you can add any of these supported formats using the media player widget you will find within the page builder. It is super easy to work with.

Hope it will be useful for you. Anyway, thank you very much about your interest in Flamingo.

Greetings!

Hi Van,

Just 1 quick question:

When using this theme, is there anything stating the original author (VanKarWai) ?

thank you for your time

Hi rahmancom,

like any other premium theme, Flamingo includes a line at the top part of style.css (the main css file) where appears a reference to us (VanKarWai). You can just delete it or add your own brand there. This is completely allowed.

Anyway, thank you very much about your interest with Flamingo.

Greetings!

Hi Van,

thank you so much for your reply. My last question, would I need to buy a dedicated hosting for wordpress (https://wordpress.org/hosting/) or would it be enough the free option from wordpress?

thanks for your time!

Hi rahmancom,

in order to use any Wordpress theme or template/site, you need to buy a hosting. These premium themes don´t need to be hosted in wordpress site, in this sense I can recommend you one, for example – http://asmallorange.com/

You have cheaper solutions all around, but notice that as cheaper your hosting is, your site will run slower. But as in any other thing, it depends on the money you want to invest on it. But this solution I recommend you is a good one.

Hope it will be useful for you.

Cheers!

hello

how do you control the background image for a BLOG page? when you make a page BLOG type, the option to define a background image is removed. Still, in your demo there is an image, obviously.

thanks!

Hi antonm80,

please, take a look to this part of the documentation. It will help you with this.

Cheers!

Hi Van, Very nice theme! Do you have this in html, or can you make in html?? I really prefer html to wordpress. Please advise. Thanks! :)

Hi Jazzed,

I´m sorry to say that Flamingo won´t be available as plain HTML. Anyway, thank you very much for your interest on it!

Greetings!

Hi, Some questions presales

1 – Is it possible to use the angle version with menu minimalist style?

2 – You can display some items in the portfolio home page?

Tks

Hi!

1. You can´t mix different layout modes. Each layout is different and this is not possible. But you can use the angled version in a minimalist way. It depends on the use you want to do with the header images. If you are not planning to use images you can go directly with the minimalist layout (it does not use images for backgrounds)

2. You can display items from the portfolio in your home page or set the portfolio page as your home page. The first option is served by a page builder widget very easy to use.

Anyway, thank you very much about your interest in Flamingo!

Cheers!

Hey VanKarWai,

I have purchased this great theme some weeks before and I will use it for my new website, but now I have a question. I will show some pages with photos in a mansonry layout like Pinterest or http://thinng.com/ as example. But I don’t know, how I can implement it. Samplepage is this one: http://jens-poser.de/project/editorials-fashionistas/# it’s created with the Visual Composer as “Image Gallery” and there is the possiblity to choose “Tiled Layout” ( I have also installed Jetpack and http://wordpresscanvas.com/features/gallery/) but it show the page in a wrong layout..What can I do?

Thanks for your help

Best Jens

Hi Jens,

why not using the portfolio template to display your works instead the gallery widget? You could control better the column numbers even. Anyway, if you need some help with it, please, open a support ticket and we will try to help with.

Cheers!
