Had to say wow – the Visual Composer is awesome. This theme just gets better and better. Is it possible to have more than one image gallery on the same page? My page fails to load if I put more than one image gallery. Still loving the theme, thanks.

Awesome work ! Ive given up with asking support my questions as nobody seems to respond.
Can you tell me how to create a standard gallery grid thats in a square format? In other themes ive used I can take different dimension images, drop them into a gallery and it would create a nicely arranged grid but if I try and create a 50×50 4 column grid all I get is either blurry pics or an overlay color that extends out to the right of each frame.
I want to create a basic blog post with a gallery which has 12 images in it which are square with either a small space between or not (I dont mind). These images are all high quality but in a variety in sizes (height and width).

Hello Andy,
It sounds like you’re looking to place a default WordPress gallery but are trying to use the Visual Composer “Image Gallery” element for that. Please instead click on the add media button on your editor (or through the text block in the page builder) and add your gallery from there. The Image Gallery element you might have used is not meant to display images that small as the Image Grid style in there mimics the functionality/styling of the portfolio.

Love the theme and updates. I have two quick questions about using the visual editor vs classic. On the classic it doesn’t seem to have all the same options for the columns such as background colors and or padding %. Will that ever be updated? The other thing is that when using the visual editor, it’s inconsistent when dealing with columns in the sense that sometimes it’ll give you the option to do boxed columns, and other times the percent padding but never both. Thanks!

1. the new column options work a lot better when using the visual composer row since some are dependent on what row type you have selected. There’s a possibility they will be added into the raw shortcodes, but it might not be practical. If you prefer the classic mode I would suggest just setting up some of your columns where you need those options in VC and then switching back to classic.
2. The padding options are only applicable when using a full width content row and when that’s the case the boxed option is removed since it has no place in a full width content row.

One more issue that I’m now having is that my Portfolio items don’t seem to have the ‘Gallery Slider’ checkbox feature and I’m not able to figure out how to make a portfolio item have a gallery slider as opposed to the small default gallery boxes.

That option was removed since it is now obsolete – the image gallery element in the page builder offers the same display as that plus a ton of other options and th flexibility to move it where you need in the page rather than being forced to keep it at the top.

Once I realized that the Visual Composer was different than the Visual tab of the portfolio pages I was able to figure it out. Currently I’ve been creating the Image Galleries in a blank page via the Visual Composer, switching to Classic view, copying the code, then pasting it to the Portfolio item. Is there an easier way?

Hey – yes, you can use the Visual Composer tab right in your portfolios, just make sure you’re looking at the extended content editor (second one in your portfolio item edit page).

I first want to say 4.0 is the best. I wonder if it is possible to adjust transparency level of header. When the heading bar does not have any color text in the menu disappears depends on the background image. I would prefer to have very stable bg color?

I have used many themes for clients, this one by far is the best! One thing though…can you purtty, purtty, PURTTY please work out the kinks for the revolution slider? Sometimes it loads the images, sometimes it does not. I have tried EVERYTHING to get it to work. I would find an alternative but my client really likes the animation of the revolution slider. My deadline has passed to deliver this fully functional site to them, and the reason they hired me specifically, the animation. I am desperate for a solution. Please advise.

If you’re going to use a fullwidth revolution slider it would be best to call it through a template file instead of in visual composer. Here’s how it would look:

I would like to use the half column shortcode within another half column shortcode. It doesn’t seem however that the theme will acccept this.
How do I split up a half column into another half column?
Also, is there an option in the theme were a person could reduce the overall width of the site? I find that 1245px is a little wide on a PC. 1000px would be nice.

1. You can’t use nested shortcodes of the same type inside each other – this is a limitation of WordPress itself. However if you just switch into the visual composer view you’ll easily be able to achieve this
2. Turn off the extended responsive mode in the general settings tab to reduce the theme width – if that’s still too wide for your taste let me know.

The issue is just that you don’t have the fullscreen option on – it’s disabled for non fullscreen sliders in the assumptions there won’t be enough room on phones – add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel to make it stay around:

I have fixed it by moving the css up the custom list, if I put anything at the end of the list it doesn’t seem to work ?? Wonder if you could check out my custom css for me please to see if there is an issue?

I was expecting to find a media query syntax error where a closing bracket was left off but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I didn however notice you have a few rules that have no values for properties they’re listing like this one:
.single-portfolio .row .col.section-title h1 { font-size:; line-height:; text-align:; color: #f7f7f7 !important; }
You should go through them and remove any properties you’re not setting anything for

Is it possible to make albums and an easy way to upload them? Like if you click on one of the images its actually an album and will show the first image on click and press the next arrow to go the next picture in the clicked album.
Because the problem I have now I have to upload each image individually and attach them to a categorie to show them in an nectar slider what could work like an album but its not what I really want.
For example http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/portfolio-fullwidth-style-2/ each image is actually an album what contains multple images. So if u would click on it u get to see the multiple images in the desired/clicked album or u see them in an lightbox view.
Im just using my imagination.

Is it possible to add the slider into the theme other than from the visual composer?
What we want to do is have the slider above the header and once the header reaches the top of the page it then becomes fixed at the top.

Hey noisehosting, the head mod you’re trying to accomplish would require custom development but as far as placing the slider above it, it’s completely possible. Just use this in the header.php
<?php do_shortcode('[nectar_slider full_width="true" arrow_navigation="true" location="About" slider_height="600" autorotate=""]'); ?>
Just replace that nectar slider shortcode with your own desired one (can be generated through the shortcode generator)

Thanks for the help, however the code does not appear to work for some reason. The slider code does not even show in the source code.
Did you create a custom page template where this was inserted? Also make sure the location on the slider shortcode was correct for you – if you want to share a URL to the page I’d be happy to look as well
