Hi there, this is the best theme ever 
but i do have one small problem, when i have png image, (example clients carousel) it is not calculating transparency and logotypes are not aligned vertically. How can i have transparent background and keep the height or, how can i allign these vertically. Thanks!
It is solved, i just had to reorganize columns in carousel. Sorry again great work!!

If my template is from 2.1.5 version, does that mean I have to buy this template again to get the latest update? I don’t see any update icons in wordpress to upgrade to the latest version. Can anyone let me know?

You can update by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer. You won’t lose any of your content or theme settings so don’t worry about that if you were.

Thank you for creating such a great theme! My question has to do with the video texture overlay in the nectar slider. I found the grid.png file in the theme folder and replaced it with a transparent color overlay that better fit my desired style. The new texture overlay works great when the browser is wide, but it disappears when the browser is narrow. Any thoughts why this is happening?

Is there anyway to get the portfolio layout separately or as a plugin? As I really like the portfolio. And what to implement just the potfolio on my current wordpress website.
Hey haziqbaluk, unfortunately it’s bound within the theme and would require custom development to split out.
@ LiskaD – you can select the option ‘Color Override’ (it’s a dropdown option when setting up the button shortcode) and add your specific color. Or add the following into your button shortcode:
color_override="#f6653c"

Hey LiskaD! There’s a color override option that was added in 4.0 – as long as you’re using that version of the theme or higher you’ll be free to change the button to any color you need
Thanks Theorian82 and ThemeNectar. I was able to select See Through on the dropdown but that color is set to dark grey and I like the outlined look but want it a different color. I’ve tried adding the “color_override” code in the html code which is in the text box, but seems to not be working. Not sure if I’m placing the code in the right area. If I update my Salient version to 4.0, will the design change any?
No, you’re safe to download the latest version from ThemeForest – check out the classic demo to (which is now using 4.0.2) and you’ll see it’s the same

Step 5: Using an FTP client, upload ONLY the theme folder to your “wp-content/themes” folder.
is confusing. I unzipped, and rezipped the folder so when you click it, you immediently see what’s inside (instead of having another Salient folder). I uploaded that folder, and still nothing.
Please help, I’ve tried so many suggestions online except the FTP one (I have no idea how to connect to my host/server).

Some issues & feature requests:
- Transparent header color options need to be implemented. Currently colors will show defaults from ‘light’ or ‘dark’ selection.
- Need to be able to add custom colors to icons, if not, please add more ‘accent color’ options.
- Some of the fields for page header titles / subtitles are limited in characters, have changed in the dbase, but would suggest making the field accept more characters.
- Choosing when to force the nav to become transparent. This option would hopefully allow any first row background to sit behind the header instead of being limited to using either the nectar slider or page header options to switch the transparency on. At the moment it is difficult to add custom HTML to the sliders / page headers – having to use the ‘captions’ field to do so.
- Being able to switch the search off.
- Being able to add HTML to a widget in the secondary nav and aligning content to your needs.
- Being able to set the logo height when the site changes for responsive design. Currently the site sets my logo at an !important default height which makes it appear very small on a mobile device.
Please let me know if there are options / fixes for any of the above, would love to know about them.

Can you clarify what you mean in the first point a tad more? There’s already the option to define the header starting color of the text and the color of the header after your scroll (if the latter wasn’t working for you it was fixed in 4.0.1)

Hello! First and foremost, let me congratulate you for creating such a visually stunning and interactive theme. I write here because I have two questions that I’ve tried to solve this afternoon without success, and I hope the devs may enlighten me, for I am not entirely sure one of them is even possible.
1. I would like to have a display of many interactive images with text over them (exactly like the portfolios in the demos) that link to, NOT portfolio images, but instead PAGES, allowing me to create a graphical showcase of pages rather than portfolios or posts. Is that possible? If so, how can I manage to do so. And secondly, is it possible to display NO TEXT AT ALL when the user hovers the mouse over the thumbnail image?
2. When I create a Nectar slider, the maximum character size allowed in the Salient->Typography menu is 110. Can that be changed to be a bigger size? If so, how?

1. Yes, there’s actually the option for “External Project URL” which you can find on every project in the Project Configuration box. If you supply a URL in there the project will link to whatever you need
2. If you want to remove the text from showing on hover add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel:

3. Add this into the Custom CSS box as well to increase the size:

Just updated to the most recent version and am playing with the “modern dummy content”. I noticed that on the “Home – Landing Page” where you have the 3 nested columns for “A Breeze To Build With, Tutorials To Help, Show Off In Style” that there is no way to edit the background colours.
The colours from the demo content for those sections show on the front-end but when trying to edit the nested columns in the back there are no options visible to edit the background colour/padding for this. Did I miss something?
UPDATE:
nvm you can disregard this. Looks like I was clicking on the wrong edit button. We have to use the “Edit this column” pencil icon and not the “Edit this row” pencil icon. Derp.

Quick question – experimenting with the new transparent navigation feature (amazing add-on by the way). I may be missing something simple here – under the section “Header Starting Text Color – Please select the color you desire for your header text before the user scrolls”. We set this to white (FFFFFF) but the navigation appears to still have the set “header font color (888888)”.
Is there a quick fix I am missing for this? Thanks much!
P.S. This by far is one of the best themes I have had the pleasure of working with – keep up the amazing work.
Hey roberts_designs! The starting text color has a dimmed opacity so it could appear that way if you’re unaware – if you want it to remain 100% opacity add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel:

opacity: 1!important;
}

Instead of using the featured image you could simply insert the image into the editor via the Add Media button which would cause its positioned to be changed to below the title.

You would most likely have to remove the themes built in excerpt length declaration to get your plugin to work – this can be found in the functions.php at:

Hi, I did it but it caused the destruction of my websites. I had to copy a file functions.php via ftp again to make my websites work again. I don´t know why but I can not touch the file functions.php. It always case a destruction.

you could accomplish the fixed ad on the side of a boxed layout pretty easily. Just open your header.php and place the ad code at the bottom inside a div like this:
<div class="fixed-ad"> AD CODE HERE </div>
and then let me see your URL to assist with the css

Is it possible for the portfolio to update thumbnails any size? I like to have two different types of portfolio pages. One with square thumbnails and one with rectangle thumbnails. But when I upload an image that’s bigger then the set size in the CSS , it will show part of that image I uploaded. I wondered if it is possible to show the full thumbnail, whatever size I Upload the thumb? Sorry, it’s a bit hard to explain.
