Hi ThemeNectar,
I have updated the theme for transparent header. But my home page header (http://apps.flarepath.in/nexsales/) is not becoming transparent but the Direct Marketing Partners (http://apps.flarepath.in/nexsales/nexsales-for/ceos-and-sales-executives/) is becoming transparent. Please help me figure out what might be the problem.

coming for some advise here, so i am trying to create an awesome gallery for a clients website. www.greatplainsconservation.com/2014wp/ and i need to separate images up into camps, eg Selinda Camp Gallery, Zarafa Camp Gallery…... and loved the way a masonary portfolio looked, but i dont want to make it a portfolio just want to make it a specific gallery with toggles between the sections.
would you have any suggestions on how i could do this and make the gallery look like the masonary layout?

or if you could point me to where the margin sections for the particular gallery shortcode is in the CSS files, and ill remove the padding and allas to give no margins which will work good enough for me.

The image gallery element will allow your images to touch side by side with no padding if you select any style other than the default and choose for a fullwidth display. Unfortunately there’s no masonry option for the image gallery but you can still use portfolio items to make this work as there’s both the option to display a portfolio as gallery only (with no single project page) and also the option to lik projects to external links if you wanted.

You just need to check the option for “lightbox only” in your portfolio element when adding it to the page through the visual composer view or via the shortcode

Visual Composer is part of the Salient theme. When VC updates will you release an update of Salient straight away with the newly released version incorporated? Or can I get an update from wpbakery.com somehow? Or … ?

Since the Salient VC is a heavily modified version of VC you can’t update it yourself without dequeuing the built in page builder (if you’re trying to use the raw plugin). If you’re specifically looking for the frontend editing feature – I am not sure if I’m going to include that in the Salient Page Builder yet because of all the conflicts it will bring with Salients custom elements.

Do you have debug mode on in your wp-config.php file? Also I’m seeing that your footer.php file markup is not from the current version – can you ensure you’ve done a clean update by deleting the old theme before uploading the new version and also test by deactivating your child theme for a second?

I’ve deactivated my child theme, but there is no result unfortunatly(
When I deactivate child theme – only ‘call to action button color’ fixes.
I’m a bit confused as to why all the warnings are showing as nothing changed in 4.0 with the areas you’ve listed. I’ve noted to test for these all for the next release – can you also let me know if they go away when turning debug mode off?

Good to hear – since you’ve already narrowed the issue with the accent color down to child theme, you just need to update your child theme footer.php file to match the new markup in the 4.0+ parent theme footer.php
I’ve change the footer.php file. call to action button now is normal! Thank you!!!
But how to be with the accent color for the recent projects line at home-template-3. I chanched as the footer.php, but it didn’t help.

Instead of using the home template for recent work/posts just change it to slider only and use the shortcodes or page builder to place those elements on the page
Hi guys, a few things to ask about, hopefully you can help.

Questions/issues are as follows:
1. Buttons on ‘articles’ (blog) page. When heading to page 2 of the blog, the buttons to go forwards or backwards are just squares. I presume these should be arrows or something? Any idea why they’re missing or borken and how I can fix this? Replacing them with text of ‘older’ and ‘newer’ would also be fine but can’t figure out the CSS for this. Thanks!
2. The 3 x boxes on the Home page which are toggle boxes, won’t allow me to put a gap between the header text and the rest. I’m trying with
codes but nothing is working. Can you advise??
3. The mobile responsiveness is great as always from your guys. However there are a few things we’d like to fix/update if possible.

1. It seems that the image located at img/icons/portfolio-arrows.png is missing on your setup – can you check that location in your theme directory and ensure it’s there?
2. Add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel:

The code is Google analytics code – where did you try and enter that in? The only place it should be entered is the Google analytics textarea in the Salient options panel (the one above the custom css box)
We let the client pop the analytics code in. It’s definitely not in that box, so we’re currently trying to figure out where they put it.
Rule #1. Never let the client be an admin.

I love the theme! How do I use the Nectar Slider instead of Home Slider for the Homepage (page titled “home”). I like that the Nectar slider offers more lines of text and that it also allows me to not have the transparent boxes around the text.
Nevermind, I figured it out. I had to set the page as default template, not home template. Home template uses the Home Slider automatically.

Very happy with the theme so far. A few requests: In every slider – the speed and delay between slides should be an option to set. Not that I mind, but having to go into the JavaScript to modify the client slider would be much better if it could just be set.
In the picture slider, options to disable the arrows would be great (in the wordpress interface).
And finally, there are some strange bugs here and there with your theme on WP8 (in default IE). Also, because of that, I loaded up the side on my windows tablet and the site won’t touch scroll in the metro/modern version of IE. That’s a real bummer.

Can I add “Header Padding” without affecting the size of the collapsed header (“Header Resize On Scroll”) ?
I want to make my header (logo + main menu) look like this: http://screencast.com/t/MpyeisyL5O8 like on this theme: http://accio.webtemplatemasters.com/ So that the menu buttons will be larger, have a background color on hover, etc’...
background color is easy ( .sfHover { background-color: #xxxxxx; } ) but I wasn’t able to add header padding without it making the collapsed header much larger as well… Any tips?

you’d have to edit the init.js file to handle this – search for all occurrences of:
headerPadding / 1.8
and change it to a higher number to influence the shrink more

Have you considered creating a feature for a photo light box instead of the standard photo gallery feature that comes with WordPress that has an image and then small arrows to click that some might not see and know to click, which are also hard to click as they are small arrows? Also a video light box feature?

1. The image gallery element in the visual composer view offers a bunch of different styles for creating lightbox galleries – have you checked them out?
2. You can call a lightbox video by adding the class “pp” to a link (enter this into the text tab on your editor)

Loving the theme so far! I’ve been working on the site all day and am very happy with it. However when I go to view it on a mobile device (even an ipad) it isn’t displaying correctly.

What is the Best image size for “Client image” in carousel. By examining the code I found that for 4 clients in the carousel the dimensions were 232×155.
To approach this in a more methodical way, what are the ideal sizes for 3 or 4 column Client Displays. I modeled it after your : about-me-extended/

Hey Steve! It’s really up to you – you probably could get away with 200px wide by whatever height
(supplying a little larger than the desktop space needs to ensure it’s crisp on retina / fills out iPad portrait)

I am having a hard time with client graphics. I’m experimenting with different sizes. What I’ve noticed is that it may be missing a resize event… As I resized the window I get weird scaling – always decreasing… Have a look ; http://www.zlabs.com/zl3/
It seems your slider is behaving the same as the demo on the about page – you could always increase the column size to alter the size better. I’ve noted to create additional rules for clients in that size column though

That would require a mod to the shortcode-processing.php file located in the nectar/tinymce directory. That data is not being queried for but it could be done with some small development
For now, I’ll use the graphic text. I am using 2 Client Display areas with carousel movement. One on the left, text in the center and one on the right. Can I change the rotation of the carousel on the one on the left to Left to Right instead of Right to Left? Size wise, after experimentation it seems that SQUARE images perform best. As per your advice, I increase the resolution to 300×300.

i have one of my pages as a fullscreen slider and have removed the footer, however, there is still white at the bottom of the page.
I have a slider title, and text content which is displayed over the slider and can see that when i remove this, this removes the white space at the bottom of the screen. However, i need this content here, any ideas how to solve this?

2. This would require custom development or the use of a plugin since the current social buttons are not meant to be displayed like that.
3. There’s no option for Google+ in the social sharing buttons since Google+ does not offer a way to retrieve the share count outside of their official share button.

The issue is that you’re just linking to a direct file and letting the browser use its native player which varies in all browsers thus the different experience in IE/Safari. Unfortunately without some custom development this wouldn’t be possible natively in the theme.

Using posts, is it possible to show/hide the sidebar on per post basis? On certain posts, I would love to display full browser width images but I need to hide the sidebar for that to happen.
Also, do you know if the menu can work with something like Mega Menu. Would love to show recent posts in a category with the image.
Finally, what would be the best way to add a 728×90 banner somewhere in the header?

1. This would require custom development or custom css rules to show/hide the sidebar on specific pages based on the post id.
2. If you meant uber menu – yes, but it would require the use of a child theme to modify the header.php to make it work. (there’s a guide on their site about the process)
3. Adding it directly into the header.php file and using css to position it would be the best way
