I have bbeen using x theme for a bit now and its bbeen great, I have just updated my wordpress to 3.9 and now the shortcodes do not work and on the page editor the shortcodes icon has disappeared, any suggestions??

We have not tested (or heard of) that particular plugin, and our policy related to 3rd party plugins is that unless they are integrated into the theme in some way (Revolution Slider, Gravity Forms, Visual Composer, etc) then we do not provide support for them. The implementation, customization, and troubleshooting of any issues that may arise are the customers responsibility. Technically speaking, since X was developed according to development best practices, any well developed 3rd party plugin should play nicely with X, however due to the virtually limitless nature of things that can and often times do go wrong with software, we can’t support something that we have not first developed or integrated into the theme.

Hello, (Pre-Sales) 1. can we demo the admin of your theme? 2. I dont see anyone complaining about parts being broker or other major issues. What peace of mind can you give us that if we do have problems with your theme that if things are too difficult to resolve we could then cancel our license and credit our TF account? The reason I ask is because I had one bad experience with another seller and their license code was breaking all client sites ( everyone was complaining) and secondly because I just bought another theme where even the demo content did not install properly. I bought the AVADA theme and very happy there but I would like to have another provider like “X” that is a different style.

I am just a click away from purchasing this theme after seeing the 30 great examples of what we can do with this theme. I have 2 questions. Can this theme mimic the following:
1.) http://i.imgur.com/w0e1XJJ.jpg
Basically, make 4 columns, be able to have border styles for each column, and be able to have title, subtitle, then image.
2.) http://gopro.com/cameras/hd-hero3-white-edition
Create TABS (possibly different styles too?) that organizes the content into Features, Specs, What’s Included section of the site.
Very impressed with this theme. I hope that it can do the two functions as it will be very helpful for websites that want to showcase its products.

1) You can definitely use our Columns Shortcode to organize by columns. You would have to do some of your own custom styling to create a border just like that, but that is not incredibly complicated.
2) The closest thing we have to tabs is our Tabbed Content Shortcode. Feel free to check that out (and same as above, if you needed to customize it you are free to do that once the theme is purchased, however all customizations of features is each customer’s responsibility).

Thanks for the super fast reply! It seems like the solution you provided MIGHT work. For customizing the styling of the tabbed contents and columns, would we have to go into the FTP to edit the file or could it be done in the admin panel?
You’re most welcome. This would be something you would have to edit the actual code (not in the Customizer). When doing theme edits (whether you are making the changes or a developer you have hired) we strongly recommend the use of our provided child theme templates in our member area so future updates of the theme don’t overwrite your theme edits.

I see that example Renew #10, which is a one page website, the top menu links to different sections on the same page. Would I be able to make my tabs do that instead?

Out of the box it works like you see it in the demos (Renew 10 for example with the one page functionality). If you are wanting anything more customized than that, it would be done on your end either through your own custom code or hiring out a developer.
So demo content is already included when I buy the theme? I ask this because I see Renew 10 & Renew 2 are different. Renew 10 is one page functionality while Renew 2 is not.
Am i basically given 10 Renew “templates”, and if I want one page functionality, I select Renew template #10?

In our member area, we provide home page demo content for the 30 demos (with holder images in place of the creatives in the demos), so you will have an option to use Renew 2 or 10 (or any of the other home pages demo content). To setup the one page functionality, there are a couple extra steps that are outlined in the member area.

1.) Can I add links to the tabs in tabbed content so when I click on it, it will link to a container I made? It’s like the one page functionality but instead of clicking on the top menu links, users would click on the tabs to link them to a container…

1) What do you mean by “link to a container I made”? The Tabbed Content Shortcode is not meant to be a sort of primary navigation if that is what you are asking.
2) Yes, you can add columns inside tabbed content.

What options does this theme give to product presentation page so it’s easier to navigate between Features, Specs, Downloads etc?
Example: 1.) http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2/spec – This site uses a sub-menu at the top
2.) http://www.mi.com/en/mi3#design – This site uses a tab at the top

The Renew 2 demo is now a one page example (using the Renew Stack) while the Renew 10 demo is the fullwidth colored bands. Hello, This is a pre-sales question. I really like what I’m seeing with this template however as a relative newbie to wordpress, I want to make sure of a couple of things: 1) Would I be able to use ecommerce plugins with this template? 2) Would I be able to use a members plugin with this template and if so, do you have one you specifically recommend? I need something to allow free members and paid members with different levels for various access within your template, if that makes sense?

I’m wondering about the long term financial stability of the theme. If I purchase X for $60, with three stacks, I’ll imagine in the future you’ll need to release more stacks which will in turn cost something. Maybe $10-$15 each. This will help development and longevity. Three stacks, at least three websites from an end user perspective. Then people will need to purchase more stacks from you to continue more flexibility.
The reason I’m thinking about your financials is for support purposes. Say I purchase X, then I use it to build a client site, then a year later I still need updates and support for new plugins and software. Will you still be able to provide updates on that one purchase of $60 a year ago… ? If you’re still making money, then the answer is yes.
How is this going to play out? Thank you.

Updates to the theme will always be free (you will not pay for future Stacks). The way we are able to make additional revenue is through repeat purchases. Due to the fact that the license is good for a single domain, if you wanted to use X on say 3 sites, you would purchase 3 licenses, and this revenue allows us to continue to develop and support the product.
In addition, we will be launching other product lines and services, some in the very near future.

Thank you very much. This answers my question and you have my $60. Hopefully the theme will continue to develop well. I’ve seen quite a few developers drop updates when new versions of wordpress or required plugins like Nextgen Gallery or Woocommerce are updated. Leaving us with no support.
I’m personally tired of jumping from one admin panel to the next trying to figure out every developers unique system. It’s this transition time which ought to be unnecessary.

Next I want on my blog is a feature that you can see on this site: http://www.markuscerenak.com/perfektionismus.html. When you scroll down, on the right sidebar new items are showing up. They appear when you scroll down. Can I do this easily with X-Theme (you promiss that I have no limits at all).

As you can see in the blog of one of our demos here there is an area where you can input some text as a welcome message. If you needed to put an image up there, it would require some customization on your part.
Regarding the sidebar feature you mentioned, that is also something you would need to customize on your own as that is not a feature available out of the box. It is a fixed piece of content that once you scroll to a certain part of the page it “locks” into the sidebar and stays fixed as you scroll down the page.

I’d like to use X to create an infinite scroll, single page site very similar in layout to your #10 renew demo .
http://theme.co/x/demo/renew/10/I’ll be using it for a portfolio page and embedding images, videos and such like in each section.
I’m not a developer and new to wordpress and the demo theme doesn’t include any of these elements, is it (relatively) straight forward to add them in whilst retaining the very slick one page workings of the demo?

Is it straight forward to use your shortcodes to embed things like video etc in a single page layout whilst keeping the sleek design in your one page demo, or will this require significant input from a developer?

If you are looking for a flat, neat single page site then as you can see in the Renew 10 demo you can definitely do that with X. You can of course add as much content as you want just keep in mind the more content you add to a single page, the longer response time your server will have to load the page (unless of course you are on a souped up VPS or dedicated server). Even then, it is always wise to be thinking in terms of optimization of your content and typically a one page site with just a bunch of content is not best from a performance perspective or user interface perspective.

How do I embed audio on a page so that it simply plays in the background with an inconspicuous pause/play toggle?

If you have not setup a child theme and edited core theme files, you’ll need to review our changelog for a list of what’s been updated. I would definitely recommend using Child Themes as they are there to prevent issues just like this. You can read more about them here (must be logged in). There is also a release notes sticky thread at the top of the forum that goes through notes about each update, so you’ll definitely want to check that out as well.

1. is it possible to combine one website to be multi-page, with specific pages only that act as one pagers?
2. Is it possible to have top fixed nav for top menu items, and a left fixed nav along with it for the sub menu items, on the same page?
3. Is there a possibility, or a recommended plugin to enable ajax transition/animation when loading a new page (or returning to a previous page)?

We definitely have a parallax option you can activate on a content band. You can see an example of this on our Integrity 01 Demo (the Shortcode band). As you can see at the bottom of that demo there is a big call to action button, so this would definitely be possible as well.

Hi! I am thinking about purchasing this to use for our band’s website. Do you have any examples of musician websites using the x-theme? There are so many possibilities, it’s hard to imagine what can be done in this regard. Most of the WordPress themes out there for independent bands are absolute junk. there are some themes which are really close but are just too ordinary. Would it be possible to do something with the functionality of the “artist of the year” theme from foxhoundbandthemes? i really don’t like the way it looks, just how it works. i also noticed there are no “itunes” icons in your icon set.

Functionality wise, the demos show what is possible out of the box with X. Keep in mind you can definitely customize to your hearts content (or hire a developer to help) for anything more customized beyond the functionality you see in the demos, features, and shortcodes.
There is currently no iTunes icon in our icon font sets, however with many iTunes icons available on the internet, this would not be very hard to add on your own.

I suppose you could install the theme in three separate directories of the site and translate the files in each directory to your desired language. So mysite.com/az, mysite.com/en, and mysite.com/ru
Beyond that, you could always hire a developer or write some custom code if what was described above wan’t satisfactory.
