Hi
Using your theme on two sites and cannot use the click and drag feature in the backend editor feature. Was working previously but issues started December 19th. WP and theme up to date but cant update Visual Composer separately as previously discussed if that is where the issue lies.

I will just paste here what I said to your other comment:
There are several reasons why it’s like that:
1) External CSS is only recommended when the CSS is large enough it warrants the expense of an extra server request for a particular file.
2) Another reason why it’s like that is because these styles are generated from PHP based on user selected options.
3) It also seems that the “tp-caption” code may be included by the Revolution Slider plugin and not by us so we have no control over it. Either way, we think this is a good practice.
In other words, we think you don’t “need” to do what you wanted to do (move it to external), it’s all good like it is now. These few lines do not slow down the page rendering, their impact is almost zero. Please keep in mind that many publications on development presents certain dogmas that are not always black and white but are presented as such for simplicity.

This is only a HTML template so in order to make the contact form work you need a programmer that will integrate for example a PHP script for sending emails. Another option would be to buy our WordPress version of Sentinel which includes an already scripted contact form.

Hello,
I have purchased the html version. Do you have documentation on how to get the multilingual part to work ? do i have to make (copy) the pages for each language ? When i press on the country selection (upper right), the selected flag doesn’t activate (the american flag remains).

The multilanguage version is a WordPress plugin, called WPML and is available only in the WP version. If you have HTML version you have to manually do multiple pages for every language you want to show.

Ok, that’s not a big problem. But how do i get the flag mecanism to work correctly once i have selected a language. And how do i get it to send the language parameter to each page ? Do you have an example for this ?

Well this is really dependent on the way you want to create your website. You can use existing CMS or your hand written PHP scripts. The product you bought is only a HTML template, so the language switching backend is not integrated here.
I would suggest you to create mutliple pages and then send a language parameter to the page and this way you’ll be albe to decide which language to show.

I am not able to use half the features from the template. It does not let me utilize the revolution slider it says:
Revolution Slider Error: Slider with alias new not found.
Maybe you mean: ‘default’ or ‘slider 2’ or ‘new slider’
Which doesn’t make sense since I had to chose the slider from the drop down. I tried recreating a fresh home page since the editor was messing up the front end and jumbling all the elements. But even this did not work. Please help ASAP I am trying to launch my site for the last 2 weeks since we purchased and has had many problems.Also the icons do not let me choose or alter any of them it only has the option of the computer but on the template there are many options but when I go to add the element they are not there….
The accordian feature and the toggle feature also are not working on the front end do you know when the bug fix will be released for this?

Hi folks,
I found a problem when i’m using the template with mobile/tablet. At menu when i select portfolio sessions the page opens ok. But when i click at the menu again all the itens are messy.
I think that is a problem with the plugin that put the portfolio session to work. At the others sessions this problem don’t exist.
Could help me with the codes to fix this problem?

I’ve bought this item and i’m going very well with the template and now im trying to use the contact form.. but i didn’t found the ”.php”file that usually authenticate/send the informations that was inserted at the fields.
So i tryed to use de contact form from the template that is hosted here at the themeforest.com and i saw that when i click “send” another page opens. But the files of this another page are not present at the template files. Is it right? How can i put the contact form to work?

Sorry, don’t know what happened with the comment format. Here it is again.
I’ve purchased the html/php version of Sentinel. In geneal it looks great and the wesite I’m creating with it in general works nicelly. But I have some issues:
- gmap:
I’ve got a page using the gmap api included. In slow connexions this api loads really slowly and anything else using javascript in the page won’t work until this load ends. Besides this, inexplicably, this api had stopped working in firefox 28.0 (opera, chrome IE work), so the map doesn’t load and nothing else using javasript in the page works (for example an accordeon section). I wonder if a fallback or something can be used in case the api doesn’t work.
- portfolio:
Also inexplicably the portfolio script that loads images and title-bar filter has stopped working in Firefox.
Have any clue for this? I’m working in localhost (wamp server) but connected to internet and didn’t have any problem until now.

It is a bit difficult to solve problem on your localhost.
There should be a lot of problem, which I cannot see.
1) WP_DEBUG mode
Please try at first turn on wp-debug mode by editing file wp-config.php in wordpress root:
define('WP_DEBUG', false);
replace with:
define('WP_DEBUG', true);
This may give more informations about all possible problems.
2) Plugins
There may be some errors or conflicts with plugins, that you installed. Try to disable all unnecesarry plugins. If this help then problem may be in this plugin or there is the plugin-theme conflict.
3) Upload it to server
This is the best solution how to solve this. I will quickly see, where the problem is.
4) Image resizing problems
The Sentinel theme uses image resizing. If you have not enabled GD and EXIF libraries, then enable it.

The issue is solved: I did a caché, cookies, offline session data and site preferences cleaning in firefox and the page started working again.
However I’d like to remark that if this happened to me it could happen to any user when my website goes online. What I’m worried about is the fact that when the gmap api fails it prevents the rest of the scripts in the page to load correctly. I’d like to have the option of something like: “if gmap fails, then go on with the rest of the scripts”.
I’m not using wordpress (so I don’t have any additional plugins beyond the javascript included in Sentinel), I’m using the sentinel php template and in the page where I had the issue I just made an include of the “gmap” template, I used in the content some of the “accordeon” code provided and the normal include of the “footer” with all of its unmodified javascript code.
But it might just be a firefox issue (I’m sytarting to have a lot of problems with this browser).

Maybe you could help me solver couple of issues with the Sentinel design. I’ve been testing my website in mobile devices and found a couple things in small devices:
- I’ve got a slider (you call it slider-1) in my homepage, just in the same position than in the sentinel example. This slider in small screens becomes really small and the arrows (tp-leftarrow and tp-rightarrow) overlap with everything else and it becomes a mess. In the Sentinel example the same thing occurs, you should review that design. So I’d like to know if there’s a way to get rid of these arrows in smartphones but mayne keep them in tablets for example.
- The second thing has to do with the gmap template. I’ve got a map in a page just like you have in the contact page of the sentinel example. In touch screen devices with small screen size, in landscape position when you scroll the page down, at some point the map fills all the screen and then your finger starts scrolling endlessly inside the map. There is no way to scroll out of the map to see the rest of the page unless you turn your device to portrait to change the display parameters. You can confirm that in your own sentinel example. Is there a way to fix this issue?

1) I think this is a default behavior for revslider plugin. But you can disable the arrows on mobile like this:
@media only screen
and (max-width : 760px) {
.tparrows {
display: none !important;
}
}
You can change the 760px value to your liking, it's the width of the device viewport.
2) This is also a default behavior I think, how else would a user control the map? We are open to any suggestions on this you might have, but keep in mind that this is a rare occurrence (=low priority) and that we can’t access the Google Map library much so it would have to be something simple. I will ask other developers on the team if they have any ideas as well.

The “display:none” method was the first thing I thought could work, I was just wandering if in the js parameters something else could be done. I finally did the following changes and I think it’s an interesting desing option, in the responsive.css file:
- in @media only screen and (max-width: 320px), I added .slider-1_container{display:none;} (I think the slider’s design doesn’t look good in very small screens like portrait mobile phones).
- in @media only screen and (max-width: 680px), I added .tp-leftarrow, .tp-rightarrow{display:none;} (I think below this screen size the slider becomes so small that the big arrows mess with the rest of the content)
The slider is great and beatiful on big screens.
For future versions of Sentinel it would be nice to code “finger sliding” for touch-screen small devices instead of using the arrows.
For this version it would be nice, since the arrows’ size is set by the js script, to have a parameter option to set this size.
Regarding the gmap “thing”, I do agree that it is of rare occurence, but if you find a solution please let me know.
