small box:225×140px (450×280px for retina displays)
Medium box: 225×290px (450×580px for retina displays)
big box:490×290px (980×580px for retina displays)

you should customize files in this folder pukka/modules/grid-layout/views
But you should first copy them to ‘pukka-overrides/grid-layout/views/’ so that you can update theme without any problem.

you should upload images from this selected Post and then they will be in “gallery view” and you’ll see them in Featured Area.

Just bought the theme and love it. But have 2 questions: 1. When I create New Post, how do i decide that I want that post to appear on any particular page eg: on Blog or Gallery or Homepage. I created New Page: Blog and want to post all blog posts there but can’t figure out how to do it, every posts i create gets posted on HomePage and the Blog page stays empty.
2. I don’t want HomePage to show all new posts, Just want to have BIG Image there that stays static, how can i do that.

1. For Blog or other category, you should add category to Post http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/categories/. For homepage you also have an option when you are inserting/editing Post (check button). Everything should be much clearer if you go through Documentation.2. You can use Front Page Manager (Theme Settings/General Settings) if you don’t want to show new posts and then you can add only Custom Box to homepage or etc.

Hi I don’t want to add categories. I have 3 pages
Blog Gallery Stats
When I create a post, I want to be able to specify if I want that post to appear on Blog page or Gallery Page or Stats Page and NOT on homepage.
How do I do that? Assigning Categories like you mentioned does not help since categories names and Page names can be totally different. and don’t have anything to do with each other.
2. Front Page manager: I created New Post using that but when I clicked Post I don’t see it anywhere.
Do you have Step by step example to show. I am stuck and need to present this to client Tuesday. thank you

but Page is 1 and when you add Category then you can add more posts to one Category. This is core WordPress functionality, so you can’t add more posts to one Page.

we saw your login, but we can only help you if you want to have solution with category and posts. There is no option to add post to page unless you make customization or some plugin or etc.

In mobile version comments heading font (”... thoughts on ….” part ) is way bigger than the heading font of the post. Is that a way to make it same size as the heading of the font? thanks
Hi, in latest theme version that heading font size is set to 25px (smaller then post heading) for desktop and mobile view.
You can paste this in “Custom CSS” box to set that comment heading (for desktop and mobile view):
.content-wrap .comments-title {
font-size: 25px;
}
If you want to set it only for mobile view, paste this:
@media all and (max-width: 700px){
.content-wrap .comments-title {
font-size: 25px;
}
}
Of course, tweak 25px value

When you post in video format, in the mobile version it automaticly shows the video in a square which causes empty spaces at above and below. Is there any way to fix this?
I don’t know exactly what you mean, but problem with embeded media is that iframe can’t be resized ‘smoothly’, like an image for instance, so to preserve aspect ratio there some ‘empty’ space can appear.
To be more clear, I insert a vimeo link to the media URL part of the post. When I open the page in my mobile, the video seems embedded in a square where there are empty spaces above and below. As the video is rectangular (720p originally) the spaces above and below are big.
That depends on the width / height ratio of iframe which displays video and the way browser handles resizing (which leaves those ‘empty’ black spaces above and beneath video to preserve video ratio).
If you want to exactly fit some resolution you could genereate embed code on vimeo site and paste it into “Media embed code” textarea (on post edit screen).

So there is social media buttons after every posts. Is there any way to control which image to appear when people likes the post (I mean FB like)? Now it is selecting randomly. Even there exist a featured image of a specific post, when you press like button it choses a photo randomly from the post or other things from the image gallery.

Hi there, I have few questions about this beautiful theme:
For the Menus: 1. How to make a menu behave as a category? Meaning that as in category area, if I click in each menu, it links to posts filtered from that specific category (menu); 2. How to change background color and box wight for the Popup submenu?; 3. How to make each link of the submenu only link to a different URL tab instead of opening as a post?;
For Single Posts: 4. How to make fonts smaller? For both its title and body. (After was already clicked in a specific post; 5. How to make the featured image not be stretched?I want make them smaller in this area;
Ads: 6. Is possible to add ADs as a home page post (using PIN to be still there maybe) however to link directly to the URL instead than opening the post? 7. How to add a Wide Skyscraper on the right side or posts but not on the right side of mainpage? Did try with your suggestion (AD tag via Custom Box (Homepage) or via Right Sidebar as Widget) but couldn’t find that.
Also I would like to ask a related question. Which is the banner size working better with this theme in all the platforms?

Hi Sorry but the color UI tool used for accordion or text box in page builder is really useless. If you have multiple accordion, it’s almost impossible to set a background color easily without loosing your nerves… I can’t get it right. Could you please provide a better tool in a future release? ( (like simply adding colors by numbers #00000 too)

Hi! I’ve got two more questions…
Before installing Ubergrid I had a custom field called “tagline” which allowed me to place an phrase of my own choosing inntended to be used for an excerpt.
Ubergrid appears to be using the native wp excerpt functionality in the masonry bricks—can you direct me to the PHP file and line number where I can swap out the PHP variable?
Second, the bottow of each masonry brick has a category listed in “DIV.brick-meta-wrap”... It seems to pull the LAST category placed on the post. However, there’s no way to reorder the categories once they’ve been assigned. Can you offer some advice on extending this functionality? Maybe can you suggest a method to have t display the full category list, rather than just the most recent one?

1. You should overwrite function ‘pukka_box_content()’ which you will find in this file ubergrid/pukka/modules/grid-layout/include/functions.php.

Hi, page load speed depends from several factors (number of HTTP connections that browser needs to make to load page, servers speed..).
I’ve just tested our official demo with Page Speed, http://demo.pukkathemes.com/ubergrid/, and I got 93/100. There aren’t any plugins active on demo site, there isn’t caching of any kind active and I’ve disabled my browser cache.
If you want to speed up your site, you could deactivate plugins that are not essential to you (plugins usually add bunch of js/css scripts that can significantly affect load speed) and/or install one of the popular wordpress’ caching plugins (2 most popular are W3 Total Cache and Super cache).
Which plugin you choose is up to you, I prefer W3 TC, and how much you can speed up your site depends from your server configuration, but you can always minify and concatenate javascript and css and add necessary eTags which will probably get your Page Speed ranking over 90.

Hi, which version of theme are you using?
You can override function which prints entry meta (‘pukka_entry_meta’) which is located in functions.php file.
Or you can just paste this into ‘Custom CSS’ box (Theme settings -> Style): .entry-meta .tags-links{ display: none; }
