Hi there,
Ive seen on a few photography websites which have a fine grid pattern (dots) overlaid onto a full screen photograph & videos. I can easily create a fine dotted pattern in Illustrator so how do I get it to overlay my photographs? I appreciate this maybe a bit of CSS/PHP work but if you could direct me to info or how to get started I would be grateful.

Hey Andy! Right now there’s only the option to add that to videos in a Nectar Slider but the next update is going to allow you to also place it on images in the slider as well. (it’s just an absolutely positioned div of 100% widt/height set with the BG grid texture png)
thank you. Is there some documentation or a reference to how this video version can be done. ``i guess it will prep me for being able to do the photo’s when the next update comes.

As its a tick box I assume you will have chosen the overlay effect or will we be able to tweak the opacity and add our own dotted grid image?

Right now you’d need to modify the texture with css – but it’s super easy

Would you be able to share where these bugs were fixed? I am using a dated version, and the designer did not use a child theme thus I don’t think I can update.
WooCommerce 2.1 update their version of a jquery plugin called chosen so I needed to as well – you should be able to replace a lot of the nectar folder assets with the current version since I doubt many mods were done to that section

I dont know if you know… but there is a bug on the transparrent header on an iPad. On PC it turns solid straight away when scrolling. But on iPad it does not go solid until the scrolling is has completely stopped.

Hello, once i have gone through the dumby file and had a look at how the pages are made, can i remove it entirely, and make the installation fresh for my own editing?

You just need to delete the pages (which can be done almost all at once by doing the mass selection checkbox) and menu items to get back to a clean install. Or if you wanna wipe everything completely you could reset the database or use this http://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/

How do I change the link-colour (default accent colour) on a specific link? In this case, if you scroll down, I have orange on blue, which is unreadable. But its only in this specific event I need this done. Please?

AAAAh ok – now I also understood what all the “custom classes” were meant for :0) It works.
Is there any best practice you can advice me on how to track all different extra classes when updating? Or should I keep track in an Excel-sheet or note somewhere with changes and then go through it all manually after?
If you’re adding them into the custom css box or child theme style.css they will persist through any updates

You can update by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer.

1. You can use the external project URL option in your project configuration box to define a link that can go wherever you need – this will require you to use the portfolio though (not sure if you already were or were only using a VC gallery).
2. Right now that would take custom development – but the pie chart & milestone elements can both display any data you need

2) I don’t know if I did it right, but it did not work in milestone element unless i set the milestone symbol to .#%. e.g. i want 27.6%, milestone number will be 27 and symbol will be .6%. However, this will look funny when it is animated. That being said, it does work in the Pie Chart Element.
Ah yes, I forgot to mention that if you go with the milestone you’ll have to whole whole numbers for it to work correctly – but you have the freedom to add a %

I have a question about the way in which Google seems to be picking up back end pages from my Salient site. If you search ‘luxhd’ you’ll see that LUXHD, Author at LUXHD is one of the results, which is a news page – a blog post essentially, but it isn’t indexing the name of the Post, which would be most preferred. I’d prefer to have a number of our main pages to appear as our Google Snippets, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why it seems to finding these less visited blog pages and indexing them weirdly… (Clicking that link will take you to a weird index page also) Love some advice here is you have any ideas.
Also – I can’t get SEO by Yoast to play ball with Salient – My testimonial (which is down the page under the Nectar Slider) is what Google is picking up as my Meta Description… Even though I have something else set.

The template looks good, however I saw on the sample site that in the boxed layout the right side is not even. Did anyone else raise this problem, solutions?
Hey LRE, you should have only noticed this if you switched the boxed style on and then scaled your window small to simulate mobile – the spacing would actually be normal if you actually had the option active in the theme options, it’s just an issue with the live switcher for the demo that I’ll fix soon – thanks for mentioning

If you’re trying to remove the built in Salient VC you’ll need to open up the functions.php and search for ”# Nectar VC” & remove the entire section
so basically if i wanna use new functions of VC i need to destroy you first….?
Yes, because Salients Visual Composer is a forked version of the VC before 4.0

I am looking to set the column width for my two of my portfolio thumbnail display pages to five columns for anything above 1000px screen width, three columns wide below this size, and one column width for smartphone size. Is there a way to do this?
I have seen some similar questions on this in these comments and it seems this is about editing the responsive.css file. Could you provide further instructions on how to edit this (where to find it in the CMS?) and what code to add / remove?

Search for ”.portfolio-items .elastic-portfolio-item” inside of that file and it’s located in the css folder in the theme directory. Also this mod would require changing a section in the init.js, which is located in the js folder. In that file you’ll need to search for “getting column sizing” to end up at the right place

I would try updating again (and make sure to delete the old version before uploading the new) because it seems like you’re missing core rules from the themes css files. The main rule responsible for this that I can see missing is:
.container {
margin: 0 auto;
position: relative;

My portfolio main slider is working(?) I tried doing “Add Media” and created a gallery of the pictures I wanted to put in the slider, but the gallery shows up in the sidebar, not the main slider.
What am I doing wrong?

If you’re using Salient 4.0+, you need to use the image gallery element within visual composer and not the add media media button in order to populate the gallery slider.
