I know about the “fetch video views” option, but I want the view count to update accordingly to the views from the video on youtube. Is there any way to make the views update in sync ?

Thanks for your interest. Currently it can’t sync the view count with YouTube. TrueMag uses its own View Count system.

It’s quite easily, actually. You choose the home page/slider style (10+), then you configure the conditions the load posts there (by category, tag, IDs, order…)

Do you just change the slider in a “Theme Options” page?, i think i remember reading a comment saying you need to add shortcodes as a widget.

Hello, I have three issues I need help with.
1. For some reason when I tried placing an AD on the top of the page and removed it the Search area spacing between the Top Menu and the Carousel changed and no longer fits the Search Icon correctly. How do I fix this? Please check out my site http://www.carreviewfans.com/
2. When I tried putting an AD on the right side nothing showed up and how do you place a AD in the widget area?
3. Lastly, on the front page of your Demos how were you able to have those 3 categories display on the front page within their respective carousels?

2. If you want to put an AD in the Widget, copy ads code in the widget “Text”
3. If you want to have those 3 categories to display on the front page within their respective carousels, please Go to Appearance-> Theme Options-> Front page—> at the “Header – Category (ID or slug)” enter ID of categories here

I’m trying to Display the categories on the Front Page like what you did on the your Demo Front Page where you displayed the categories Vimeo, Featured, Youtube, and Also Check out. In my blog I seem to only get the Latest Post Displayed in the grid style. How did you guys do that?

1. You can add that CSS in Appearance > Theme Options > General > Custom CSS
3. You could check this doc to set up the home page: http://doc.cactusthemes.com/truemag/#!/setting_homepage. Then, when editing the home page, use Smart Content Box shortcode to display posts from different categories.

All the demo pages you see are in the latest version 2.8.2, so you can configure theme (the demo data included in the package is quite old so if you use Install Sample Data feature, you probably will not see it)

i’m having an issue with visual composer. when i try to edit a page, i’m getting a “convert to new version” overlay. i cannot continue. do i press the button to convert? or do i wait until you provide the update? it looks like the new version is 3.5.
please advise…

The latest version of Visual Composer in TrueMag is 4.1.3. Whenever Visual Composer is updated, your page is need to “convert to new version”. It is a feature of VC, so just do as it suggests.

You can hide the Option Tree menu, but you cannot hide Theme Options. In /truemag/inc/core/skeleton-core.php, change this lineadd_filter( 'ot_show_pages', '__return_true' );into
add_filter( 'ot_show_pages', '__return_false' );What you can do is to export the settings using Option Tree menu before doing that. If anything is changed, use the Import feature to restore.

Which carousel do you want to modify? If it’s front page carousel slider, you should find it in truemag/header-home-carousel.php or truemag/header-home-metro.php

It’s the plugin TrueMag-Shortcodes. Visual Composer in TrueMag is not a standalone version. It’s a customized version.
I will recommend a few things you need to fix/add if you want
1. the navigation is wrong, is like that (icon right, class left, php right).. 2. i post before this anyway add the Watched for videos like youtube.. 3. in truemag-shortcodes the Smart Content Box will be great if add the type of post normal post and video post (now is only video)

You do not need to have a standalone version of Visual Composer. We will update it regularly along with the theme. All you need is a license of Visual Composer for direct support from WPBakery.

The Submit Video flow is separated from registration process
Does that mean that the user is not required to register for submitting a video? Where is the register link?
There is an option in admin that allows you to set whether “Submit Videos” should be available for Guests or Logged-In Users.
You can use any widget or a menu item to set a register link
