Can you please tell me where/how to change the height of the map area on the Contact page? The one in your demo http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/contact/ is taller than the one in the theme I just purchased. I don’t see a height feature in the Contact map builder settings.

Hey again!

It will center to the defined lat/lng on page load – so if the user was viewing on a smaller/larger device it would be fine, but will lose that center if you’re scaling your browser window without reloading.

Perfect. Thank you!

You’re welcome :)

How can i make the Nectar slider dissolve instead of slide/push?

Hey rockstar47, that would require custom development in the nectar-sider.js file or the use of the home slider instead.

Cheers

Hi,

Amazing theme, thankyou. I keep finding new options all the time and updates are very regular.

Am I able to have my ‘Blog’ posts displayed like the ‘Fullwidth Masonry’ portfolio page? (no gaps, different sizes, no text except on hover) Much like the postfolio on http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/portfolio-fullwidth-masonry/

The blog page as it is is a little too busy with all the text etc..

Thanks,

Brad

Hey Brad,

As of now the portfolio and blog styles offered are two separate entities and you can’t easily switch one to another – however new blog layouts are already on the wishlist :)

Cheers

Hi,

I am working on with your theme for a client and they are wishing to make a “portfolio” element display in a two columnw grid with the responsive mobile version to be displayed as one column. Is there a way to do this, if it means modifying the theme itself and adding parameters to the backend it would be great if you could please let me know what is required to get this functioning.

PS. I have tried a direct “raw HTML” paste of the code generated and modified it to display however only the first element displays and many issues are arising in doing so. Also changing the shortcode to “nectar_portfolio layout=”2”” seems to make the half width layout though they do not float up against each other.

If someone could get back to me with a solution for the 2 column layout it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Nat

Hey Nat,

You would need to modify the css for the columns inside of the style.css / responsive.css – or alternatively override it in your custom css box. If you can share your site I can assist :)

Cheers

Hey There,

Great theme, is there a place where you can see all of the shortcode and associated parameters instead of always having to use the shortcode generator?

Thanks, Daniel

Hey Daniel, there’s no list in the pdf since it’s quicker to generate one in the editor than to cross reference a document – but almost all the shortcodes are also elements in Visual Composer which is even easier to work with :)

Hi, how can I translate the theme? I installed Codestyling but is not possibble to translate.

Hey TAOcriativo, Codestyling is indeed supported – you just need to rename your .po/.mo files inside of the salient/lang directory to match your language code :)

Thanks, is working indeed.

Good to hear :)

i would also like to remove the heart like from both blog posts and portfolio projects, as well as remove the number counter that appears beside each one

figured out how to get rid of the counter, but still looking to remove the heart like

Hey,

Add this into the custom css box:

.nectar-love-wrap, .n-shortcode {
  display: none!important;
}

Cheers

Hi, Since color overlays on image background of rows are not supported (feature request?) I am trying to add it via CSS. However the color is output behind the image background.

This is the code of the class I added to the row:

.overlay { background-color: rgba(155, 147, 133, 0.5); z-index: 999; }

Any idea on why is not the color over the image? thanks

Hey moleacit!

You would need to add a div into the row which was absolutely positioned to be on top of the image BG and have that color overlay

Cheers

hey loving the theme so far, but i can’t find a way to turn off comments completely. could you help with this? i am presenting to the client this afternoon, gah! thanks! :)

Hey dustynuggz!

Add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

.comments-section { display: none!important; }

Cheers

I purchased this theme a while ago and now it says that i didnt purchase it now!

Hey imsolomon, please contact Envato in regards as I have no control over that :)

Cheers

Hi TN,

Quick idea for your pot of already fantastic ideas, have the menu disappear as you scroll down, and then re appear, whenever you scroll up.

The above, shows the effect I am suggesting.

Cheers, Peter

Hey Peter,

Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you know if Salient is compatible with this Timetable plugin? http://codecanyon.net/item/timetable-responsive-schedule-for-wordpress/7010836

Hey maurinoloureiro, I haven’t personally tested with it but if you run into issues just let me know :)

I’ll verify with them if they give refund in case do not work. Do you think in the future Salient can have somethin similar as this timetable and also a Responsive Pricing Table too? Please see: http://quanticalabs.com/script/css3-responsive-web-pricing-tables-grids-for-wordpress/629172

I’ve added that request to the wishlist :)

I created a new page. Added an icon and now I keep getting:

Your page layout was either created with a previous Visual Composer version or you have elements/text located outside of VC rows (which could have occured if you switched into the classic editor view to make changes). Visual Composer requires all content be contained within rows to render correctly – before converting your layout to the new version, make sure to read this page.

I even deleted the row containing the text and icon and I am still getting this error… Any ideas. I may be able to go back to a version prior to the errors.

I reverted to previously saved version and all is well…

Hey SteveZL, glad you got it sorted – Did you add the icon inside of VC or in the classic editor?

Hi there, could you tell me how to reduce the speed of the parallax effect.

Is it in ‘init.js’?

Cheers.

In the init.js change the 0.2:

$('#'+$id + ".parallax_section").parallax("50%", 0.2);

and in the nectar-slider.js search for:

sliderParallaxInit()

Cheers

Thanks!

You’re welcome :)

I just uploaded the most recent update and when I try to live preview it, I get the following:

Fatal error: Class ‘WPBakeryShortCode_Tabbed_Section’ not found etc

Please help?

Hey JimmyGuire,

Are you sure you’ve updated cleanly by deleting the old theme prior to updating the new version & that there’s no plugin conflict?

How do you make a carrousel with multiple nectar slides in it (your example here: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/)? I am able to make a carrousel with the home slider, not with the nectar slider (where do you add and choose the order of the slides for the nectar slider?)…

Which font do you use (namely for slider title and captions?

Thank you :)

Hey LaureneCastor,

1. Check this out in regards https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLU9Pxo_RD8

2. Lovelo :)

Hello Nectar – my favourite webdeveloper in the whole world!

I saw another post in here, where you asked the customer to open a ticket. I experienced the same problem, so I hope you will post the solution here, so that others can save their and your time :0)

You provided me with this CSS code, but its not changing the background in the blog-section. How to make this work?

.container-wrap { background-image: url(‘your-image-src.jpg’); background-attachment: fixed!important; }

Cheers

Peter

Here’s an example:

.blog .container-wrap {
    background-image: url('http://themenectar.com/demo/salient/wp-content/themes/salient/img/sample_patterns/light_net.png')!important;
}

ok that worked. I but it would not work in the CSS on the page – only in the main, general box. So what to do if you want this on a anohter site? just replacing blog with sitename?

If you mean another page, yes you can use the page id class instead of .blog for example, .page-id-23

I was wondering what plugin/how you configured the mobile version of the theme?There are changes to the design and layout that I would like to make to the mobile version and wondered how I could edit this?

Hey mike-y90, there’s no plugin and nothing to configure – can you share your URL so I can take a peek at your setup? Also, all of the mobile based styles live in the responsive.css stylesheet located in the css folder of the theme directory :)

Hi, I am in the process of moving my site, and I exported the content, copied the salient export code and all moved except for the Portfolio items, how can I export these without having to redo them all?

Hey BC03,

Portfolio items should also be able to be exported from the Tools > Export tab of your admin panel – are you saying you checked the box for them but they’re simply missing once imported?

Cheers

very nice responsive page design. Well done!

Thanks a lot daijiaoking :)

Cheers
