I purchase your theme long time ago, has been working awesomely, but now:
How do I make a pagination section for a determined amount of pages to look like the one for the portfolio? Is that possible?
The content I want to publish won’t be a ‘portfolio like’ content so I need a bunch of pages. And I really like how you can navigate to the next portfolio item and that would be cool to do in the idea I have.

Hi – many users of our salient based site have said there are lots of errors/malfunctions in internet explorer, particularly IE 8. I can detail the errors but didn’t know if this theme supported IE 8 or if its too old of a browser to provide support on. Please let me know. Thanks!

Support for IE8 was dropped a bit ago – but there shouldn’t be too many issues – there’s a lot of limitations with IE8 that prevent some of the modern styling, but the site should still be in tact.

I’ve a question concerning the portfolio I need to know about, before I can consider Salient as a valid Solution for what I want to accomplish.
Let’s say I have A LOT of Items in my portfolio, about 200, how will this be shown? Will it be an endless list, or will there appear numbers or arrows to skip through the ‘portfolio-pages’?

Hey Jo!
You can either use standard pagination with page numbers or opt for an infinite scrolling type display where new items will be loaded as you scroll down.

You can define the number of items per page in your portfolio element you place on the page – the only thing screen size is used for is the number of columns.

I’d like to have pages for my authors which include their bio and a headshot in addition to their posts. I’ve added a sample bio to one of my “users” in Wordpress to see if it would show up on the author page, but it didn’t. How can I customize the author pages?

Right now the author archives don’t query for that information so it would require some custom development to the index.php file – however the next update will be adding this in by default

1. The menu font colors can all be adjusted in the header options tab – just select “custom” for the color scheme.
2/3. Add these into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

Hey Jens, I’ve pasted the same snippet into a page on my setup and it works normally – it appears you have a bunch of errors/warnings occurring in the browser console. Did you add any custom javascript into the init.js & have you also checked that there are no conflicts with plugins you may have active?

but still have a little white space to the left and to the right (don’t want white space between the thumbnails).
I’ve already tried creating a class with padding-left and padding-right on the row but that just gives me white space to the left and pushes the whole thing to the right.

Hi again, I can’t find it there. I’m using the full width portfolio with zoom on hover.(portfolio style three on salient on themeforest).
I find that if I set the portfolio to “in container” there is white space between the thumbnails and the zoom effect is weird, so I want to use the fullwidth, but I would still like to have a bit white space on the right and the left of the portfolio.
Are you also using the constrain max columns to 4 option? If so – add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:

Great, it worked I am using a different type of portfolio just below the zoom-on-hover one that was also affected (the 4 columns were reduced to 3) so I had to change it a bit but your suggestion got me 90% of the way.

Unfortunately there’s no option to have a vimeo embed display fullscreen in the nectar slider without some custom development. The video background would be suited for this but that would require self hosting of course.

- can I have more than one Portfolio custom type: let’s say I might need a portfolio type Products (with several categories underneath) and a portfolio type Projects (with several categories underneath);
- can I display both the Portfolio custom type on the homepage?
- in the portfolio page, let’s say Product, can I tell the CMS not to show one category?
- can I assign a specific page template to a portfolio category?
- is it possible to display the in the portfolio item page an image slider?

1. You can indeed have more than portfolio page with separate categories displaying on each but since there’s still one actual portfolio post type the arrows on the single project page will still lead between all.

Thank you for your swift reply! However, I implemented the code as suggested, and it didnt change the background color of my portfolio page. Currently, it is white, and I want to change it to #3f3f3f. And since the project title is that color, I would need to change the project title to #ffffff. I have seen that line of code in forums before, but it has never worked for me.
My apologies – change that to:

was wondering if its possible to add / allow social sharing buttons (pinterest / insta etc) on rollover of lightbox image?
I love the look / structure of the lightbox display option rather than view as page when images are clicked, however I really miss the ability to share the item.
Would love any advice, as i think this would be a great option

Hi there, thank you for so much hard work on making this theme. I have a one very basic question. Whenever I’am adding any new projects in my portfolio section I get a default layout for editing which is like “table rocket” project in the sample content. What I want it to appear is like “mobile weather app” project which is without the side bar so that i have full control over how my project page looks. How do i go about it?
