Hi TN,
1. On this page I am trying to insert a blog section, using the masonry full width option. http://peterdavidgrant.com/look/
However, each post is very thin, compared to your example page here: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/blog-masonry-fullwidth/
I’ve deleted all my custom CSS, which has not fixed the problem.
I wonder if I’ve set up the element correctly?
2. Is there a way to sort portfolio items manually (ie I can set an order on the back end) and is there a way for them to be sorted by popularity (number of clicks, and/or number of shares?)
Thanks, Peter
Hey Peter!
1. Please ensure that you have the fullwidth option selected in the blog element.
2. This plugin will allow you to sort them manually https://wordpress.org/plugins/intuitive-custom-post-order/ but unfortunately there’s no built in way to sort them by shares or loves currently.
Cheers
Hi TN,
1. It is now fixed. It is rather unclear, but it requires the row to be set to in container or full width background, and then setting the layout to masonry blog fullwidth. Thanks for the fix.
2. Perfect, that will do for now!
Thanks as always, Peter
You’re very welcome – glad you got it sorted
Hey Elemene,
This would require some custom development currently though i’ve noted that style idea for the wishlist
Cheers
Can you please add vertical tabs?
Hey webOpium – thanks for the request
Hi there,
great theme! I am wondering how I would bring the menu items in the nav bar farther left, and bring the logo towards the centre further.
I am also wondering if it is possible to import our own social media icons and use them on the secondary menu bar on top of the header.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks inthemikz!
1. Can you provide a mockup screenshot depicting the layout you’re looking for along with providing a URL so I can assist?
2. Yes – but you’d need to do so in the header.php file
Cheers
Thanks for the reply, sorry for the late return… All I’m looking to do is bring everything closer to centre and also decrease the height of the header. This is an example of what I mean. http://garyvaynerchuk.com/ – Gary’s site has everything centred.
Also, for that extra coding within the header.php file. Is that code something you would be able to provide if I opened a new ticket?
Thanks!
Hey again,
1. That site has the extended responsive design option turned off in the general settings tab which reduces the max width of the container by a couple hundred pixels
2. I can give an example of what you’d paste in – open the file up and search for the social unordered list and then at the bottom right after this:
<?php if(!empty($options['use-soundcloud-icon-header']) && $options['use-soundcloud-icon-header'] == 1) { ?> <li><a href="#" target="_blank"><i class="icon-google-plus" /> </a></li>or you could use an image instead of an icon:
<li><a href="#" target="_blank"><img src="your-icon-image-src-here.png" /> </a></li>
Cheers
Ok thank you very much! I will give it a try
You’re welcome
Also, seeing as I mentioned that site, what settings would I need to have that layout underneath the nectar slider. How it has his blog posts in a masonry layout but no text only the image which links to the post. Thank you for the continuous help!
Hey again! He’s actually using the portfolio element instead of the blog on – there’s the option to use an external URL in every project configuration box so you could link them to blog posts if desired
You are so helpful! I’ll let you know if I succeed in accomplishing that!
You’re very welcome
Hello, guys. How can I upgrade the theme to 3.0 version and use the visual composer? Is the upgrade available or do I have to buy the theme again?
Hey luizalbertorasseli!
You have free updates for life
You can update by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer. You won’t lose any of your content or theme settings so don’t worry about that if you were.
Cheers!
Hi there,
I bought Salient a few months ago and I love it! Congrats for the great work you guys have done!
I would like videos in the blog to appear like they do in the portfolio (i.e. without the black frame and with “watch” and “details” on hover). Can you give a tip to do that? It looks much better when I have a page full of videos.
Thanks a lot, Alex
Hey Alex, thanks a lot!
Unfortunately there’s no way to bring that into the blog without some custom development since it’s a portfolio specific style – but if you wanna take a look at the code to port it over it’s located in the template-portfolio.php file and would need to be integrated into the includes/post-templates/entry-video.php file.
Cheers
Thanks for a quick response. I am afraid this is going to be too much programming for my skills
BTW, any new releases on the horizon? It’s like crack to Salient theme user!
Hey! Yes – I’ll be releasing a feature based on one in 1-2 weeks
Cheers!
Hello
I want to change the url of the portofolio. For example: I’m creeating a portofolio and when I click, i want to go to what url I set. I’m using woocommerce. I’m creeating the portofolio item, e.g. flower. when I click on the “flower” I want to enter the url that I gave ( in the woocommerce I also have the “flower” product and when I click on the portofolio “flower” I want to go to the url in woocommerce “flower” product page.
Thanks !
Hey sabinnitu!
There’s a field in every portfolio item called “External Project URL” – you can use that to do exactly what you’re looking for
Cheers
Thank you sooo much !
You’re welcome
One feature to consider is giving a page-level option to change the primary font color from light to dark or vis versa as background images can change with transparent headers.
Actually, it’s slide specific too. So if your slide background color or image is dark, you can choose your navigation to be light. Author QODE has done this with his.her Ellison Theme. Anyway, this would be a great feature add imho! Thank you.
Hey greatnorwegian!
1. This is an item already on the wishlist.
2. Thanks for the additional suggestion
Cheers
So I’ve read through the discussions on eliminating the “Search” function. I’m not sure where to place the code snippet that you linked to.
Also, I am getting a notification in the header that says: “No menu assigned!”. I don’t have a menu, as I am using this as a one page site. Is there anyway to get rid of that?
Thanks
Hey geoffmclarty,
1. The css snippet will go into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel > general settings tab:
2. Yes – add this css snippet into the css box as well: header#top nav > ul { display: none!important; }
Cheers
Hey there, this might be a stupid question but I can’t figure out how to get my blog page to be similar to the non sidebar version on the live demo. I was trying to add a parent page to the posts but that doesn’t seem to be an option…Thanks!
Hey smashasaur!
If you’re using the posts page from settings > reading you can choose your desired blog layout in the theme options panel > blog options tab
Cheers
Hello, How can I import ThemeNectar as an Author in to my wp site? Because i accidently cancelled from users, so when i download demo data from xml file, I only see a basic blog site of wordpress?
Can you help me?
Thanks.
Hey gizembalcimoresi,
I’m not quite sure what you mean – when you import the dummy data file you should still get all the pages regardless of what user you have as an author – are you sure no pages exist in your setup and that perhaps you just don’t have your home page configured in settings reading?
Cheers
I have a recording problem, first does not show me the third level menu and when I select an item from the menu hides me the same option
I would appreciate your support
http://onemobiliario.mx/Hey klitozradik,
I’m not seeing the Salient theme active – can you please link me to a setup where I can see the issue?
Cheers
I really like your theme it’s awesome! You did a great job with Salient, Thanks!
Thanks a lot alextl
Cheers!
Hi! I really loved your theme since I saw it, I’m using it in my site www.akmetdesign.com but it is really slow… I’ve read that I can put all the js and css in two documents.. how can I do that? I’m quite new in this… Just copy-paste everything? How do I link those 2 new files?
Thanks, you’re awesome!
Hey Aka12TvK!
Install W3 total cache – that’s going to be the best thing you can do with little effort involved

Hi,
I used to have an option to use this when I added new portfolio items:
Gallery Slider This will turn all default WordPress galleries attached to this post into a simple slider.
Now this option only appears on the items I added in the past but not for the newer ones. Was this depreciated or..?
Hey jarmosiim!
That option was removed since it is now obsolete – the image gallery element in the page builder offers the same display as that plus a ton of other options and th flexibility to move it where you need in the page rather than being forced to keep it at the top.
Cheers
Hi there,
Could you please tell me what to do to remove the white line underneath the menubar? As you can see on my new website, http://goo.gl/BWLv6W, the line is about 1px thick. What do I need to change in .css?
Have a nice day! - Tapeix
Hey Tapeix!
Add this into the Custom CSS box located in your Salient Options panel:
body #boxed #header-outer {
border: none!important;
}
Cheers
Thanks!
You’re welcome
Hello, Is it possible to set the width in pixels of the theme? I am interested in buying but I need to know this before. Very nice work. Regards, Nicolas
Hey Pepito73,
Yes with custom, but it would still change the width to accommodate mobile views unless you opted out of responsive all together.
Cheers!
Hallo, We are interested in purchasing the theme. We are a Greek company. We would like to ask: -We are going to use fonts that have Greek characters. Can this create a problem of any king? -We are going to use the e-commerce function as a B2B utility. The user must login to see prices. Is it possible to use this feature?
Thanks in advance.
Hey Bounias,
1. There’s no issue with using fonts that support Greek characters and you’ll also have your choice of Google fonts that support those characters from the theme options panel
2. Depending on what ecommerce platform your using will determine if this will take custom development or an additional addon (the theme only supports WooCommerce natively as far as styling goes) but I believe that would require an addon for Woo.
Cheers
Hi Nectar. Any ideas on when the next update will be and what it might include? I’m nearing closer to my go-live and just curious if you have any goodies coming out. Thanks!
Hey Joe!
The next update will be out within 1-2 weeks most likely but I’m still keeping what’s in store a surprise at this point
