Hey guys, I really like the look of your theme. I’m looking for a page for my podcast network where we’ll have 4-5 different podcasts posting to the site. Do you guys support multiple shows?
As of now the theme doesn’t have any features that can help manage more than one podcast at a time. I’m sorry to disappoint.
Hi guys!
First of all thank you so much for this amazing theme. So far I’m very pleased and after some troubleshooting issues, I think I’ve finally figured how most things work. However I seem to have troubles with the featured images, which fail to show on the frontpage.
Also, I’d like to recommended image size for it and how does image cropping works when it comes to the Podcast page, thumbnails on front page and similar events.
Thanks a lot. I really really love it. (And, unlike, what some other users say, I do think it is very easy to setup and use. Just read the online documentation and check the live previews. That helps a lot to have an idea of how things will/can show on the website.)
*Also, I’d like to ask about recommended image size for it and how does image cropping works when it comes to the Podcast page, thumbnails on front page and similar events.
I am also having troubles with iTunes feed. Could you please help me?
Hi,
I am happy to hear that you are enjoying using Podcaster. As for the image sizes, the large headers should be at least 1920px in width. Anything below that will be stretched to fit. You can also change the background settings from stretch to tiled depending on what kind of image you are uploading. For the smaller pictures (on the front page) they should be at least 400px * 400px (will be cropped) to make sure you still get a crisp image in responsive version. On the Podcast page, the crop size is 480px * 720px also in order to make sure the images are crisp in responsive versions.
For the iTunes feed, make sure you are running the newest version of the theme and plugin. If you could tell me something more specific (maybe give me the URL) I can give you better advice. You can also send an email to support@themestation.net
Hope this answers all your questions and sorry for the delay in answering.
The plugins are updated. I would assume the theme also is. Thanak you so much for your help

Hmm, the bug you’re encountered was taken care of some time back. What version of the Podcasting Feed Plugin are you running? If it is not 1.0.3, please download the newest version here: http://themestation.co/plugins/thst-feed.zip
Both my theme and my plugin seem to be up to date. :/
Would it be possible for you to create a dummy account for me so I can check exactly what is going on. If yes, please send it to support@themestation.net. That would really make things easier
Sorry about the inconvenience.
Hello. We were shocked to see that your “video tutorial” has no sound and only is 1 minute. Can you show us how to add a podcast?
Hi and thanks for showing interest in Podcaster! We are currently still in the process of making more videos if needed and this particular one is only meant as a guide to show users how to create a front page in WordPress. All further information about Podcaster can be found in our text documentation: http://themestation.co/documentation/podcaster/
Adding a podcast post is as easy as using WordPress itself. All you need to do is create a new post, choose the audio post format and embed or upload your audio file. You can find out more about how to make posts on WordPress here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Writing_Posts
I hope this answers your question
First off, Great theme! Would recommend.
I purchased the theme a couple months ago and its great. Only a couple comments I would like to make.
Firstly: I wish there was a way to make it so that the banner does not HAVE to contain the most recent podcast? It would be nice if i could put some text in there or an Opt-In/Call-to-action somewhere.
Secondly: My shortcode Tabs are not looking right. The boarder that surrounds the content is also surrounding the tab. I will email you about the problem to see if there is an easy fix. I would really like to use these the way they are displayed in the live preview.
Everything else is working great! Thanks again!
Thanks
The first point you mention could be added as a new feature. We’ll think about it and let you know.
As for the second point, I’ll take a look at it and release a fix if necessary!
Hello!
Quick question -
Any idea on how I can adjust the featured image on my Home page so it doesn’t look disproportional?
yepodcast.com
Thanks!
Your header should be 1920px*450px to get the best results. I hope this answers your question
No, I meant for the pictures of the people I interview. If you take a look at the home page – there are featured images of each of the interviewees. I wanted to know what the best proportions are for those?
The images you upload for the podcast posts should be at least 400px x 400px. If they are larger than that, they’re cropped to size. Unfortunately, smaller images look distorted.
Really liking the theme. Question: How can you set the Podcast Archive page to show say 24 items per page? (or maybe even more)
Hi! Thanks for using Podcaster, I am happy to hear you like it. To set the amount of items to display on the Podcast Archive page, go to the Theme Options > Podcast Settings > Amount of Posts. You can put a value between 3 and 54. I hope this answers your question.
Is there a way to make the top part of the home page, where the audio is played, load faster?
The top part of the homepage loads as fast as the image and audio files that are being loaded. So it really depends on how large those files are, internet speed and so on… I hope this answers your question
In the documentation, it says that “Podcaster comes with an iTunes compatible RSS feed. You can find it under the url: http://www.yourdomain.com/?feed=podcast". I’ve submitted my URL http://www.greatadventurespocast.com/?feed=podcast and it’s been rejected from iTunes because of “technical problems with the feed.”
I have another podcasting website using the same file host (Libsyn) submitted to iTunes and that’s working fine, which leads me to think there’s something with the theme or setup that needs to be fixed. How can I fix this?
We’re working on this and will have a proper answer in a couple of hours. Thanks for your patience.
Okay, sorry it took so long, but we’ve worked over the entire RSS feed featured and put it into a plugin. You can download the plugin from here: http://themestation.co/plugins/thst-feed.zip or wait for the Podcaster theme update (it should be up in a couple of hours) and install it then. Thanks for your patience.
So I’ve installed the plugin you linked (thank you) but I’m still receiving an error for the podcast feed. Do you know when you’ll have the theme update available? I appreciate the help. http://www.greatadventurespocast.com/?feed=podcast
The update for the new theme is already out. Please let me know if you’re still having this issue even after updating. Are you using any other plugins to manage your podcast?
I’ve installed the updated theme but am still having a few issues.
First, when I use a Feed Validator (http://feedvalidator.org/check.cgi?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.greatadventurespodcast.com%2F%3Ffeed%3Dpodcast) it says that the length of the podcast isn’t being added to the RSS Feed file and is throwing an error.
The other is that you can manually subscribe to the feed through iTunes (still working on getting them to accept the feed) by using File > Subscribe to Podcast, but only 10 podcasts display (I have a lot more than that).
Maybe this second issue will resolve itself once the first is addressed but I’m not sure what the next step is. I very much appreciate your help. This is a great theme and I would love to make this work. Thanks!
If you wish to increase the amount of podcasts in your feed, (on your WordPress dashboard) go to Settings > Reading and then increase the amount of posts under “Syndication feeds show the most recent”
As for the first issue, it will be taken care of. Expect an update this week.
Hi Themestation. Thank you so much for your help! You guys are awesome.
You’re welcome and thanks to you too
Updated the plugin! You should be able to update it from your dashboard in the next couple of hours. Your feed should validate now.
Is there a plugin that works with this theme that tracks the number of visits and downloads? Also is the this theme limited to the Seriously simple podcast plugin? I’m am starting to get really weird errors when trying to add an episode through iTunes and it takes days.
Hi,
I’m sorry to say that I can’t help you out with that first question. We do not supply any plugins that track number of visits and downloads of tracks. We’ll keep in in the back of our heads in case we plan on releasing anything similar to that.
To your second question: You can use Podcast and post audio and well as video files without using the Seriously Simply Podcast Plugin. It was added to the supported list of plugins, because many people use it to manage their blogs. However, it is not required when using Podcaster. If you wish, you can write an email to support@themestation.net with more details. If the errors/delays you are receiving are to do with the plugin however, I might not be able to give the proper support, as it was not written by us. I hope this helps and thanks for using Podcaster
Hello I have one problem to upload my media songs files to site. It says, you can upload maximum 8Mb size. I tried solutions, but its not worked. So i want to how can i do that. my songs file size is 24MB. Please help me fast.
Hi, thanks for purchasing Podcaster! To your question: unfortunately there is nothing much I can do when it comes to file size limits. These are set by your hosting provider, not the theme. Contact them and see what they can do for you. I’m sorry, but good luck!
Hi,
Just bought this. My logo does not show up when I upload it. What are the specs? Or What am I doing wrong?
Thanks!
LC
Hi, thanks for using Podcaster
The logo should not be larger than 260px*110px. If you’re still having issues with this, please drop me your URL. I would gladly take a look at what is happening.
Hi.
Love the design of your theme, but having a little trouble getting it off the ground.
I’ve only constructed a test but in my archive page, but it doesn’t look like I have a “library” when I click on the page. I only have a search bar, and a few other things, but no images or links to a library page.
How can I create that?
Thanks for your purchase, I’m glad to hear you like Podcaster.
When creating your podcast archive page, make sure you have: 1.Filed all your podcast posts in one category 2.Set the category in the theme options as your podcast category (You can find the place to set this here: Theme Options > Podcast Settings > Podcast Category) 3.Selected the right page template. The template for your podcast library is called “Podcast Archive”.
I hope this helps, if there is anything else feel free to ask
I emailed you and didn’t receive any response?
I have a few questions.
1. For the contact sheet. It does not replicate the demo. The search button is at the bottom and an archived list is shown at the bottom. I do not want this.
2. I do not want the blog section to be shown. Can I please have this disabled?
3. In the archive section is there anyway to have a searchable section under category to have the searchable section only show up on one page instead of all pages?
Please get back to me ASAP.
My URL: test.beyoubesure.com
Also, the thumbnail shots that appear on the front screen, when you see them on the actual post are huge and blurry. Can you remove them from appearing in the post or make their size smaller in the actual post?
This is urgent. Please respond ASAP
Sorry for the delay, email has been sent!
Just purchased the theme and got an error message when trying to upload it to my wordpress site:
Unpacking the package…
Installing the theme…
The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for purchasing Podcaster
When you download the file from Themeforest it comes with your documentation and child theme all zipped in one. So please unzip it first and then install the file called podcaster.zip. This should solve the problem.
Is there a way to have the homepage display the most recent post not only in the big header image but along with the rest of the posts below? Rather than starting from the second most recent post…
Nevermind! Figure it out
any idea on when the next update is coming?
for anyone out there looking to purchase, be warned: this is a very very complex theme to customize if you don’t have any web design experience before (like me). Be prepared to spend a ton of hours trying to tweak it to look like the demo page you see.
Unfortunately I can’t make any comments about upcoming updates as of now. We are constantly working on making sure our themes are up to date though, so thanks for inquiring.
I’m guessing this is your first time using self-hosted WordPress? It can be daunting at first, especially when using themes with many features. But it get’s better as you get used to it. That is why Podcaster has Theme Options which enable you to make basic customizations without touching the code. If you have any issues with installing and setting up Podcaster, it’s better to ask specific questions so I can see what kind of assistance I can give you.
Right, and basic meaning pretty basic. I uploaded a few podcast to the website and now the formatting is all wrong.
If you could take a look at the front page of www.yepodcast.com and help me understand why it’s not showing up like the demo that be helpful. (Why the Featured box is smaller, why the “next episode” box is bigger, why the subscribe the buttons are stuck together)
And what are the exact dimensions for these featured images?
As far as editing the website itself, is there an easier way to view each section instead of endlessly scrolling down and searching? When I created the child theme, it did not allow me to copy over the individual sections’ .php files? Not sure if that makes sense.
And is there a way to adjust the width of these pages? I want to push in the edges so that it is easier to read/look at for my audience. The full wide width doesn’t look right for all of my pages.
Thanks, sorry for all these questions – just not what I expected.
Hi, When you make your podcast posts, make sure you use the post formats. If you are posting an audio file, choose audio (on the left side of the editing window) and then use the meta box that appears beneath to upload your audio file or paste the URL in case it’s hosted somewhere else or being embedded. This will make your audio player appear on the front page as well as on the single page of your entry. I also noticed that you have installed what looks like an additional plugin to play the audio files. Podcaster uses the native WordPress audio and video players as well as playlists so you won’t be needing any third-party plugins. It also supports the Seriously Simple Podcasting plugin.
We’ll take care of the buttons, thanks for pointing that out.
The dimensions of the featured images on the front page are 400×400px, the theme crops them automatically. I’m not sure what you mean by “scrolling down and searching”. Podcaster comes with a child theme, that is included in the files you downloaded from ThemeForest. Simply install it (just like you would any other theme) and activate it. To edit files, copy them from the main theme and upload them into the directory of your child-theme (using FTP) If you tell me what exactly you’re trying to copy I might be able to give you some pointers.
Podcaster comes as is, so I can aid you with setting it up, but (in regard to the edges of the theme) we unfortunately don’t offer customizations at the moment.
I hope this answers all your questions.
Hi, made some development since this last post with child themes/firebug (GREAT TOOL, etc.)
Thanks for addressing all my above problems too.
1 More Question: Is there a way to disable my most recent post from becoming the Featured Post on the top of the front page everytime? I want to use that top space for just a regular banner.
I understand how to hide all the elements, but I can’t figure out how to prevent each new podcast from automatically becoming featured.
Hope that makes sense!
I am happy to hear that.
To your first question: No, at the moment there isn’t. The latest post is the one that appears at the top automatically. We might add a feature that allows other things to be displayed there, but not in the near future. I hope that answers your question
Gotcha.
Do you have any suggestions on how I can edit the .php files of different pages? I copied over the page-frontpage.php to my child theme but for some reason, the edits I am making on it through the Wordpress editor is not reflecting in any way.
When you make your child theme duplicates, make sure you also create the directories. So page-frontpage.php has to be saved in /page/ just like it is in the original theme. This should solve the problem.
ahhh got it thank you sir!
Hello
I am using Podcaster theme for my client. I want to kniw how to add “Latest Episodes” above “From the Blog” section on Front Page. Its Urgent. Please reply as soon as possible..
Thanks Gauri
Hi there,
Thanks for using Podcaster! Please make sure you have gone through all the settings within “Podcasting Settings” that are found in the theme options. If you have set the categories and added enough posts to that category, they will automatically appear there. I hope that helps.
I just purchased this theme and it says it’s required to download the Redux plugin however I am getting an error. Can anyone help with is?

Hi there,
I am using the Podcast Archive feature on one of my pages and there is some weird gapping happening when I use the image layout (notice too how the gapping changes at different browser widths). I want to use 24 podcasts per page. Here is a link to the issue I’m seeing: http://www.greatadventurespodcast.com.php54-1.dfw1-1.websitetestlink.com/podcasts/. Please let me know what I can do to fix this. Thanks!
Thanks for using Podcaster. I just checked what could be causing this issue and noticed that some images uploaded as featured images are slightly larger than others. Please make sure that all featured imaged you upload are exactly the same size. Let me know if this solved the issue.
Hi. I actually am using 1920×450 for all of my images. (If anything it might be +/-1px in either height or width but I’m using exactly what the documentation recommends.) Do you know of any other reasons this could be happening? I appreciate the help.
Hi, I took a careful look at the images and noticed that that one pix difference is enough to break the layout. Working on a quickfix for this. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Just wanted to let you know that changing the image to the exact size did work. Thanks!
I cannot figure out how to have the nice slideshow that you have in the live preview where it is in the body of the post. I looked in documentation but couldn’t see how to do that. How do you?
Nevermind, finally found it.
Thanks for using Podcaster
Is there a way to a login widget to be part of the top menu?
I figured it out again. I’ll stop asking questions until I’m stuck for more than a day
Under Social Media Settings, could you create one for Twitch.tv in the future please?
Will keep this in mind.
