Hi!
I’m having this error with the ajax page changes: syntaxerror illegal return statement
Also found my website to be very slow since switching to your theme?
www.greenlightgames.co.uk
Thanks.
Hey bravo81!
1. Have you tried to deactivate plugins to ensure it’s not caused by one of them?
2. Consider asking your hosting company to enable gzip compression and also use a browser caching plugin like W3 Total cache https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=http%3A%2F%2Fgreenlightgames.co.uk%2F&tab=desktop

I’m using a cache plugin, I’ve had to disable the page transitions for now.
Also the Shortcodes no longer work, clicking the button in the editor changes the url to ’=edit#nectar-sc-generator’ but it doesn’t appear on my screen.
Please help!
Also I’ve noticed that menus in the CP area does work properly, when you hover over Posts for example it give you the sub menu of All Posts or Add New Post. This doesn’t work anymore, no floating sub menus.
Just another update to this, I’ve reinstalled Wordpress and deactivated my plugins as requested. Still seem to be getting this error? But also get this at the top..
http://puu.sh/aQK1M/385d650c21.pngHey again!
Anyway you can open a ticket in regards so I can look around further since these are not known issues? http://themenectar.ticksy.com
Is there a way to have this as a one page theme?
Edit: Used the search and see you’ve answered this 100 times, and no it isn’t a true 1 page theme.
Maybe worth a call for future updates? Make it multi-purpose?

Hey pinkgerbil! There’s no one page animated scroll built in, but the plugin I recommend is completely capable of handling that for now
http://wordpress.org/plugins/page-scroll-to-id/
Hi! Couple questions about Salient.
a. Is there a way to have the mobile “toggle” always be visible and for the site to never use the traditional “horizontal” menu? I’d like to just the Mobile navigation on all devices.
b. is there a way to have the mobile navigation slide out from the left-hand side of the browser instead of dropping down?
Thanks!
Hey LaBargeMedia!
a/b. This would require some custom development as of now, but the idea is on the wishlist for future development
Cheers
Do you have a recommendation for a company or freelancer who knows Salient well and can do custom development on this theme?
Hey oakwood_hms,
I always recommend buyers use Envato Studio since the freelances on there are experienced WP developers that should be able to handle modifications desired
Cheers
Hi Salient team
As much as I try I cant seem to replicate the layout you have for the portfolio page extended 3.
I want to have the 2 images full width and then below have a full width image. As the image attached showss
http://postimg.org/image/ra5xv8vkl/40b598dc/
Which nectar shortcode/visual composer element should I be using?
Thanks in advance!
Joe
Totally ignore that…didnt tick full width content!

Hey Joe, glad to hear you sorted it!
Hello!
Been using this theme a lot before and it always works perfect. On my site right now, there’s some microstuttering when scrolling on pages. This is especially significant in Firefox. I am using nectar slider with video background, but other than that I do not have anything special really.
Any ideas at all? I can send the site via PM or something if you wish.
ps. tried to use the support site, couldnt seem to log in neither via facebook nor the regular login.
Actually, nevermind. This had to do with some CSS issues.
Hey antologic,
Glad you figured it out
Cheers
Hi, back again…
When adding a recent posts element into a page, is it possible to format the posts so that they run down the page using the width of the container, rather than being side by side? Also, do you know which php file I need to edit to be able to remove the following from each post:
- By <author>
- Comments
- “Like” button
- Date
Thanks, and much appreciated.
Hey aduncan1987!
1. This would take some modding to the shortcode-processing.php file located in the nectar/tinymce directory
2. Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:
.meta-author, .meta-category, .meta-comment-count, article .date {
display: none!important;
}
Cheers
Thanks once again for your assistance. I’ll see what I can do with the shortcode-processing.php file…
Regarding the removal, all was great except the article.date (or article .date – I tried both) didn’t remove the date from the post; I’ve tried a few other solutions I’ve found from browsing the comments including the one below but I can’t seem to get it working. Is there anything I’m doing wrong?
article.post .post-meta .date {
display: none!important;
}
On a side note, I was able to remove the like (love) button by adding .nectar-love to the list.
Thanks
Hey again!
Are you using one of the masonry views? If not, different css would be needed:
.meta-date {
display: none!important;
}
.post-content {
padding-left: 0!important;
}
article.post .post-meta {
display: none!important;
}
Thanks – I’ve tried the above and noticed it removed the date, etc from the page with the list of blog posts (which is cool by the way as I would have wanted to do that too!) but the pesky date is still lingering on single blog pages (e.g. hello.com/2014/07/23/hello) and I just can’t seem to shake it!! I’m not using the masonry view, by the way. Do you happen to have any further suggestions?
Thanks a lot.
Hey!
Anyway you can share your URL so I can see why the snippet is not working as it should?
Cheers
Hi – I can’t share a URL unfortunately as the page is currently on an internal DNS and our external beta site is too out of date to show the issue, but hopefully this image should shed some light.
Thanks!
Hey again! Try adding this as well:
#single-meta {
display: none!important;
}
Excellent – it’s finally gone! Many thanks once again!
You’re welcome
Hi!
I seem to be having an issue as to how my site is showing the portfolio thumbnails.
I have created a ticket please get with me when you can.
Thanks!
Hey Paul, thanks for the heads up on your ticket
Just upgraded the theme to the latest version.
Responsive header is broken in my child theme.
Hey graphicmonkey, please share your URL so I can take a look – also does this only occur when the child theme is active?
bit.ly/1xohtjp Yes only when the child theme is active. I removed the child theme and I had been modifying and replaced it with the included child theme in the theme. However the problem persists.
Thanks for noting this – I sorted the bug, if you redownload the theme from TF it should work as expected
HI,
Quick question here… When using LayerSlider (and I guess regular slider too), the slider seems to be going under the menu. The top part – maybe 75 to 100 px – is getting chopped from my slider.
Please look at screenshot http://i.imgur.com/vfXUcJh.jpg taken from your demo. On my site, I use LayerSlider and I get the same thing.
I found a potential solution on the discussions but I still want to run this by you. Is this something you were ask in the past? What’s the best way to make it appear flush?
Hey VortexSolutionInc!
That’s like that so that when you scroll down and the header shrinks you don’t see an empty space – you can however control this by using row padding
Cheers
Hello ThemeNectar,
I imported the dummy data for “clean all-purpose” is there a way to remove this and try a different skin? I would like to try “ascend”.
Hey szetor,
You could either bulk delete all the pages imported or simply use a plugin to do it for you
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/
thanks for the response, I also found the .txt file to change the skin.
You’re welcome
I really love this theme, but I have some questions before purchasing.
My website is based on frontend content sharing (Portfolio)
1- Is there a frontend portfolio publishing feature?
2- Can I set the homepage to portfolio style?
3- Does the theme support Right to Left (RTL)?
4- Does this theme work with the “Userpro” plugin?
Thanks
Hey CIGAROO,
1. There’s no front-end editor by default
2. Yes, the portfolio element can be placed on any page
3. Yes it does
4. Unfortunately I haven’t tested with that plugin actually so I couldn’t guarantee it at this time
Cheers
Easily one of my favourite themes to work with – and it keeps getting better and better with every update!
Check out the cool website i’ve thrown together in little time with this amazing theme: Shadow Skates.
It’s only scratching the surface of what you can do with Salient.. Highly recommend that theme to anybody – in my opinion Salient deservers the top spot on the weekly best selling items!
That’s awesome to hear simonswiss!
Thanks for sharing your site – lookin’ good!
Cheers
Hi I’d like to embed an iframe with auto-width and auto-height so it shows all content inside of iframe depending on the content size without having scrollbars. I tried: <iframe src=”http://bebeboostudio.com/gnu5/bbs/board.php?bo_table=bebeboo_review” width=”100%” height=”100%” frameborder=”0” scrolling=”no” allowTransparency=”true”></iframe>
Do I need any other CSS code or something to make this happen?
Thanks!
Also, at the same time make it responsive according to the window size!
Hey ha9974!
is there anyway you can share the URL where this iframe is currently posted so I can take a look?
Cheers
Also, one more question that’s not related to the above: is there a way I can duplicate one entire page? I’d like to duplicate the entire page and edit one part of it. Thanks!
Hey again!
1. Add this into the custom css box in your Salient options panel:html {
overflow-y: auto!important;
}
2. You can switch into the standard wordpress editor and copy all the content which you can then paste into a new page and switch back into the visual composer view
Cheers
Hi again,
I am also finding that when making a new page, if I have the page header active, it hides some of the visual composer elements, basically:
===== Header First half of content(hidden behind the header)
Second half of content
Is this a bug or are there settings that can change this? Changing the page header height does not help.
Hey dxeptive,
Since this isn’t a known issue, is there anyway you could share a URL so I can take a look?
Cheers
When our users go on our website,http://panteradigital.com, on a mobile device content is not displayed correctly. The most notable one is the nectar slider in our homepage.
As you can see, the buttons are cutoff and not made visible when the user changes device orientation.
There are also blocks of text that are cutoff in mobile as shown below
Here is the first part of our code in the our homepage.
[nectar_slider full_width="true" fullscreen="true" location="Pantera Home" slider_height="" autorotate=""] [full_width_section bg_pos="Center Center" bg_repeat="No-Repeat" text_color="Light" image_url="" top_padding="30" bottom_padding="20" background_color="#777"] <h2 style="text-align: center;">What We Do</h2> <p style="text-align: left;">[/full_width_section]</p> [full_width_section bg_pos="Center Center" bg_repeat="No-Repeat" text_color="Dark" image_url="" top_padding="30" bottom_padding="20" background_color="#ffffff"] [/full_width_section]
Any help on how to resolve this issue is appreciated.
Hey irvingzarate,
1. Ensure you’re on the latest version of the theme & have a minimum height set for the slide (visible when the flexible height option if checked).
2. It appears you’re simply out of space to display the header on one line in portrait view. If you set the the font size 1-2px smaller it would probably fit. If you can supply your URL I’d be glad to assist
Cheers
Hi Themenector,
I have another question for you – If I set the blog display(single post) to be “Fullscreen with meta under”, can I still change the height of the title(post header) section?
Also, is there the capability to use custom sidebars? Or what plugin would you recommend I use?
I also found an important typo in the theme: Theme Options -> Blog -> Hide Sidebar on Single Post, the description for “Hide Sidebar on Single Post” is actually saying it will hide the featured image (which is the option below)
Hey dxeptive,
1. The fullscreen header adjusts its height to always fill the users screen so unfortunately the only way to set a fixed height would be with css
2. https://wordpress.org/plugins/widget-logic/ or http://www.woothemes.com/woosidebars/
3. Thanks, 4.5.2 fixed that
Cheers
hi
I’ve come to a point where it’s close to a public launch of this theme. As my current site ranks really well in Google I’m a bit worried about what will happen when I launch the new design/theme as my business is heavily dependent of how the site is performing in Google.
I did some checking in Google webmaster tools and found out that the Pagespeed score has dropped A LOT with Salient compared to my current site (www.fotabrollop.se).
My current site gets a 52/100 score which is not very good but decent (http://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=www.fotabrollop.se). The new site, with the Salient theme applied, is down at 6/100 which is a dramatic drop (http://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=new.fotabrollop.se) This is obviously a big concern for me.
Your demo site gets 61/100 which is fairly good and much better than mine. I haven’t done anything special besides adding content using the functionality Salient offers.
Do you guys have any idea why my new theme scores so bad? I would really appreciate if you take a look at the analysis pages in the urls that I’ve provided here. Hopefully there is something that I have done that can be corrected.
Thanks!
Hey fredrics1,
The demo is only doing basic things for performance which you can do too
1. Contact your hosting company and ask them to enable gzip compression.
2. Download and install W3 Total cache to enable browser caching & enable the option for “Move Dynamic/Custom CSS Into External Stylesheet” in the general settings tab of the theme options panel.
3. Compress any large images you may be using – here’s a plugin for that https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-smushit/
Thanks for the relpy!
1. I’ve contacted the hosting provider and they say gzip is already activated. Do I need to do anything on my end to make use of it?
2. Installed W3 plugin. Compared to Super Cache this is less user friendly for a novice like me. I did the configuration based on my gut feel but I wonder if you could have a quick look at it (user credentials to my site has been provided in support ticket: 249502)
3. Great tip. Will try that too.
Thanks!
2. Will do – I’m still seeing that browser caching is disabled so I’ll take a look at that when I’m logged in
Yeah, Google say it’s not enabled but I swear I turned it in the admin panel. I am sooo thankful for your help. Totally amazing support
You’re welcome! I’ll be with you on that as soon as I can
Hi,
I’m noticing some alignment issues (where content in the boxes is off screen) not sure if this is one of the bugs the update will rectify?
I am just making tweaks to an existing dummy page so not sure whats happening?
thanks s
actually i fond out whats caused it – if you select extended responsive design it throws things out of whack… I’ve turned mine off so much better
Hey rebelle143, since that’s not a known issue it would be easier for me to say what’s going on if you could supply a URL showing the issue
hello, wanted to know specifec about your theme, and also others: when i purchase the 58$ can i use it to build only 1 wordpress site: www.a.com or can i do as many sites i want with the one purchase: www.a.com www.b.com www.c.com…...and more…. please answer thank you very much
Hey liorsade8,
Yes – one license is only supposed to be used on one live site
Cheers
