Hi guys, is there a way to display the blog post shortcode in the same/similar way as the portfolio items shortcode.
They’re so great, visually, so would love to do it this way!

Currently the only way to display posts in the portfolio styles would be through custom URLs set in every project (a manual process). It is however on the wishlist to bring portfolio styles to the blog

Once you have installed contact form 7 just copy and paste the shortcode, its the default shortcode [contact-form-7 id=”5” title=”Contact form 1”] Alternatively just import the xml dummy data and its all done for you…

I just updated to 4.5.2 and I am having some issues with the responsive design. In my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1

- And the portfolio image is showing this black bar: http://i.imgur.com/8bLyPz7.jpgIs there any way to fix it? Right now the portfolio image looks very small and leaves an ugly blank.

I am trying to set it up for a client and am having a bit of trouble using the sticky sidebar. I’ve enabled it and on some pages it works perfectly, but then on others it doesn’t stick at the right point. Instead the page scrolls but the text stays at the top for too long, making it appear to float over the header image for a second. I can’t figure out why this is happening, especially as it seems to be on some pages not others, and even these are not consistent with some of them suddenly working, where they didn’t before.
I have also noticed the same thing happening on your demo site, and tried a piece of CSS someone else posted in this forum but it didn’t help

@steffmann Go to add new page…then hit visual composer (it is right under the heading bar) Then add row. When you add it there are two tabs attached to that row. One moves it, the other selects a layout. Select the layout you want. (the first layout option is default) Hit the plus in the middle of the row and then select “text block”. You will then see a new window appear which has dummy text “I am text block. Click edit button to change this text”. Hit the blue button which says “nectar shortcode” At the top click on “Choose a shortcode” and away you go!

How do i use shortcodes that you show in the movie “Salient – The Shortcode System” I have just installed the theme and in the movie you do not have the visual composer. What i am looking for is way to set in icons without coding

that tutorial was recorded prior to the addition of the page builder so the visual composer button wasn’t in it. For icons you still need to use the Nectar Shortcodes since that’s not a visual composer element – have you also check out the page builder tutorial?

It works with Chrome and Firefox but not with Safari, I already flushed my Cache and still see it with Safari

There’s an option to indeed link the entire gallery to a custom location by choosing “Open custom link” for the on click option in the visual composer gallery element. However there isn’t an option to link each picture to a different URL as of now

You can update by downloading a fresh copy from ThemeForest, deleting the current version you have on your server and uploading the new. I recommend using FTP, but you can use the WP dashboard if you prefer. You won’t lose any of your content or theme settings so don’t worry about that if you were

I want to buy it for my site but i see an issue with unlimated addons for visual composer; info circle. It adds a teal circle in the middle of it, and in some places the header overlaps on the row.
Once i buy can you help me with this issue?

That issues looks simple enough to fix with some css – as for the white lines – is there anyway you can show an example as well so I know what you’re referring to?

Also, the portfolio is lagging so i made it 10 per inf scroll. But when i pick a category it only loads the ones you have loaded thus far. Is there a way it will load all for the catagory (search the entire portfolio to give results instead of just page?) or reduce the HUGE lag im getting? thanks

2.Unfortunately that’s the nature of the filters (only filtering what’s currently loaded) – I checked out your page and it appears you have the infinite scrolling off but the load time is actually pretty good (about 2-3 seconds). What are you experiencing on your end?

2. Weird, I’m located in PA – How many seconds is it taking you? DO you also see the same behavior on the demo portfolio?

as for port… ya but only in chrome. There was another browser it was reported on from someone i cant remember which >< still trying to find out who said it to text it.
my connection is ~60MB/s so…ya… PC i built and its a beast… idk ill try to reach my friend to maybe run an error check on server and local side to see if anything was generated

One question though. I deactivated smooth scroll in the theme options, but there is still some smooth scrolling happening. It’s not as intense as when it’s turned on…but it’s definitely still there. Any thoughts?

That’s the chrome specific smooth scrolling which is integrated in since it’s much higher performing and doesn’t share the same drawbacks as the nicescroll one – the remove it delete the lines at the “chrome ss” section in the init.js file

Thanks for your amazing template. I’m having one issue with SSL which I am not sure if I’m asking the right person. Everything manages to load fine on the template, except for all media images. All images return a 404 as they cannot load through HTTPS.
How would I go about fixing this (ps it’s fine if you are unable to help me )

Very quick question – but with the fullwidth portfolio with lightbox only function is there anyway to have social media sharing options?
i effectively would like for people to stay on the same page when viewing the content (without loading a new page to see the pic i mean) but also allow them to share an image on pinterest, Facebook etc.
Is that doable? or is there some code I could apply that would do this?

and another question… when adding a portfolio element to a page -once i select which categories i want to feature for some reason nothing shows on the page? however if i select portfolio in the template list all items show up? how can i fix that? i would like to create something like this: http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-ascend/portfolio-fullwidth-style-three/ but it seems your dummy data is using an “image gallery” element rather than a portfolio element.
i am a little confused to say the least haha! i would like to use a portfolio model so i can schedule posts… if there is a way to schedule the images that would be cool too but can’t think of what that would be!

1. Unfortunately this wouldn’t be possible yet without some custom development since the sharing buttons only share the current page URL therefore every button would share the main portfolio page since the URL never changes when using lightboxses

You can list the FTP credentials on the private ticket you already have open – I believe the WP account you listed was already an admin so don’t worry about that
