Please follow these steps below:
- Step 1: Go to Pages > Edit Page > Template and choose “Front Page” , then select “Sidebar” in “Header Style”
- Step 2: Go to Appearance > Widgets > Drag Widget named “Text” in “Main Top Sidebar” and enter HTML code or you can drag widget named “Visual Editor” in “Main Top Sidebar”. Add “Smart Content Box” shortcode into that text widget and save.
- Step 3: Assign to that page to menu item.

Thanks for your interest. In the rating feature in True Mag, an admin will do the rating (manually). It is not automatic. So, I’m afraid it cannot work like you wish.

Can I change the size of thumbnails?

Technically it is possible. However, it will need some code changes. We have included a child-theme with poster-size thumbnails in the package, so you can choose between 16:9 ratio and 3:4 ratio.

I want to keep the ratio of 16:9, but to reduce the size of the thumbnails to 300×169. Will I be able to change the code yourself?

You could go to edit truemag-child/functions.php and change the value for ‘poster-small’, ‘poster-medium’, ‘poster-big’ definition.
- then save and run regenerate thumbnail (plugin) to re-create all thumbnails.

On the home page, we use several smart content box shortcodes. It uses pre-defined sizes in functions.php. When you upload images, they are resized to those pre-defined ratio.

This error occurs when your PHP version is built without the __toString() method. To fix this, just remove the __toString() in line 94, like this:$array['title'] = $vimeo->title[0];

I really like this theme! I have a blog with almost 600 video posts and I am a bit afraid to switch to a new theme but some of the features on this theme would make life much easier. I have a couple questions:
1. When importing data from existing site what happens with all the thumbnails that were generated initially (i also used video thumbnail plugin)? Is the plugin smart enough to rescan and re-thumb everything to the new size?
2. How does the “auto fetch data” work? Exactly where would I paste the video url in order for it to auto complete the fields of the post? I use only youtube and vimeo videos so this would be PERFECT for me.

1. After importing, you can use Regenerate Thumbnails (https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/) plugin to resize all images.
2. Yes, when you enter video URL of a YouTube or Vimeo video, it will auto get title, description, tags of videos.

I have been having a great time working with this theme, very impressive! How does one implement tool tips on a category page? Also, if one has a large logo – say 120 pixels high, how do you align the menu to the center instead of the top? Thanks!
Apologies! What I called a “Tool Tip” was actually “Quick View Info / Quick View Video” which one turns on from Appearance > Theme Options > General. My bad. That having been said, I’d be more inclined to use this if it didn’t have the html5box.com logo on the top right. Now when I follow that link, it seems that the pro version allows you to personalize the logo. Is that doable? And if so, how? Meaning can I buy it, install it, and have it be personalized?
