2) on the home page in the blue area where it says ‘the social network’ can i control that blue image to have different areas going to different menus (I have ways to do the sprite images etc but i need to be able to control that blue image) – what i meant here is that instead of the big banner which says ‘the social network’ can i replace it with an image with small areas of sprite areas which point to different categories. i can do the sprite but i want to know if i can change the home page image etc to an html code block’
3) can the top menu bar have sub categories such as in ‘general discussion’ but i want to have more menu items with sub menus. its possible yes?

Are you sure the word “in” is translatable? Im having a hard time figuring out why is isn’t translated on my site.
Other sites I have the word “in” is translated. Both site have buddy press and bbpress translations files translated. I use the same plugins on both sites as well.

Its in the comment widget. Cant find the other place where I saw it now. But its when someone write a comment and it show where the comment was written. X wrote a comment “in” x-topic/blogpost.

Are you talking about Revolution Slider? Test it under default WP theme.
Images are displayed in CJ using the Layer Slider.
Did you even paste code with slider into frontpage1.php? Make it working with a default WP theme first.
