great theme! I have a question about it…
It is possible to show a image gallery grid in masonry-style? Currently, it doesn’t look good when mixing horizontal with vertical images in an image grid.

The only elements that can use masonry as of now are the portfolio/blog so if you wanted an image gallery with that you’d need use the portfolio with the lightbox only setting

If you’re using the text with icon element the only way you could link it would be through a column link – which would link all of text as well. The other way you could just link the icon would be through not using that element and manually creating the setup by using nested columns with an icon shortcode inside which you could wrap in a standard HTML anchor

Hey it’s me again… o/
I’m using the mega menu option… but I don’t want the first item of each column to be styled different from the others.. I don’t have a title for each column I just have so many items that if I do not use the mega menu some of them will be off the screen and since I can’t roll only the menu, I’m using the mega menu option to solve my problem by dividing the items in columns… but I already tried to figure out how to make the first item act like other, but I can’t seem to find out. Is there a way you can help me? Or am I asking too much? T_T~~ I don’t wanna bother you.

Hey priscilapsampaio! Here’s a quick way to solve that by hiding the first item. Add this into the custom css box located in your Salient Options panel:
header#top nav > ul > li.megamenu > ul > li > a {
display: none!important;
}

Hi! Is there any way under a certain screen size that I can have my sidebars on my single portfolio pages to appear before the content in the visual composer body? So in essence, the page order vertically would be header, header image, sidebar, content, footer.

Question about “Boxed Style” columns.
I have a row with 2 columns. I’ve made each column have a “boxed style” and that works great. The box on the left has a lot of content in it so it’s quite long. I’d like to made the column on the right have a number of smaller pieces of content, each with a boxed style. I haven’t been able to figure out how to do that, without creating a new row which would make the alignment all off… could you help?

To be a little clearer… basically I would like to be able to stack boxed columns on top of each other on the right side (not in a new row)

You could use a nested row setup inside of Visual Composer and have the columns inside of the nested rows use the boxed style

Sure! When you’re inside visual composer you’d add a row and then click the plus sign on it to add an element inside and choose another row

Having majaor issues with the portfolio.
No matter what settings, I only get the same number of portfolio items on the page, infinite scroll doesn’t work and pagination again only shows some of total the number of posts that actually exist.
i’ve tested this with 3 column view, 4 column view etc. On all options, it only shows 19 posts when I have 32 portfolio items, I just can’t get it showing more.

You should be good by checking the box for “Centered Content Alignment” on your column which holds the image with animation

The text with icon is different than centering an image – if you’re only trying to have one text with icon element on a row you might as well skip using that element and just using a heading tag with icon shortcode in a text block

Hi, how can i restore default header setting in the page which has been already built (the header settings were define only for that particular page, i didn’t change it for whole site)? It doesn’t work even when I leave blank all the fields in the page header section. It’s always give me white space below the navigation bar. Thanks

Make sure that in your page header settings the background color is removed and not just set to white – also check the fields to ensure no extra spaces are in them. Hi! First of all, love the theme. For some reason the Home slider does not load anything for me in Chrome (which is up-to-date at 36.0.1985.143 m), but it works great in other browsers. This is my second fresh installation of WP and Salient without any extra plugins. Just bought the theme a few days ago. I’d like to offer your theme to my client, and here rises a question concerning the regular license: Is it allowed to build a functional demo site, a draft, using Salient (or another theme) in order to show it to a client, to sell the idea, and ask the client’s approval, before actually purchasing a license?
Well, I asked this from the Envato Support. I’m waiting for their answer. Anyway, I guess, I’ll be buying a second Salient license soon.

FYI, I got an answer from the Envato Support some time ago: “You’re welcome to work on the site using a temporary development server before moving it onto a live/production server. Once the site is live, just be sure to remove the theme from the development server. – If the item required you to register the license/url, you may want to check with the author if this can be reset.”

I’m also having the same problem. What is the recommended memory for this theme?? I am running it on a 512MB cloud server, that should be enough to run 5 pages at least.

Hey Hakan! I wasn’t referring to the server’s RAM itself but rather the memory allocated to PHP. You can ask your hosting company what that’s at by default and increase it if you’re running out

I have bumped the php.ini memory_limit from 128MB to 256MB, I’ve still got the same problem. Looking at the PHP logs I get the following:

Hey again! 128MB is actually more than enough so that wasn’t the issue (I assume you might’ve only had only around 32mb allocated) – judging from that error you’re experiencing it’s probably due to some security settings on your server. Try opening your js_composer.php file located in wpbakery / js_composer and changing this line:
if (!defined('VC_THEME_DIR')) define('VC_THEME_DIR', get_theme_root());
to this:
if (!defined('VC_THEME_DIR')) define('VC_THEME_DIR', mb_strcut(get_theme_root(), 1));
I’ve tried that, still the same result and error. I’ve tried other themeforest themes (such as Incarnation) to see if the problem is with my server, and they work fine on the same server.
At this point I would need to take a look at the setup since this is not a known issue – please open a private ticket with your admin credentials so I can check things out: themenectar.ticksy.com
