Hi Team, I’ve watched the youtube tutorials for using the nectar slider however “add new slider location” (under slider location) is unresponsive. Has this happened before? Any idea what the problem might be? (Hopefully the problem isn’t me!) Thank you

On this url, http://themenectar.com/demo/salient-frostwave/home-basic below the home slider what option is that in visual composer? I can only see the text with icons option. I want to add it on my website but I can’t find it in visual composer and to the video tutorials also.
How can I turn-off the zoom effect of the Clients logos?
Is there an option also for the videos background to play slowly?

1. You just need to add a text box with a large icon shortcode at the top with your desired text underneath
2. There is no zoom effect on client logos – that effect only exists on portfolio items/image gallery when the applicable style is selected. Is here anyway you could share a URL I can check?
3. The video BG’s will always play at the speed you upload them – modifying this would tale custom development at the moment

1. There is a bug. When I hover the icon, all of the icons hover also, it should only be on one icon, not the entire icons.
2. Yes, there is. Before it finished loading. It start with the small images/logos then to the actual size. The data animation that is showing is grow in. May I know your email so that I can send you the url?

I haven’t checked in a while but wanted to ask whether the pagination for portfolio (filtered) has been added to the releases?
From memory, if you specify a filter and then click on page 2, you’re not shown the filtered results and as such need to re-filter which actually doesn’t work really well because you’re on the second page!!
I think from reading here, this was planned for future updates and I wondered if anything had been done regarding this?

The portfolio pagination is still the same but infinite scrolling has been added which adds to the functionality of allow various items to show on the same page through different categories – however, ajax filters are still not a part of Salient by default

I am a little confused about the difference between the home slider and the nectar slider. I want a video slider on my home page and attempted to set it up with a home slider, but the video content would not play—instead I got a row of blinking dots. Does simply having a slide in the home slide list enable the home slider? Or is there some other place it must be enabled?
I then tried a nectar slider which plays fine, but there is a large area where the home slider should be that I can’t get rid of—it still shows blinking circles even though I have no home slides left now. Again, how do I disable/enable that home slider? And will the nectar slider give me everything the home slider does?
BTW the video help is somewhat lacking here. For example the file types requested in the theme no longer match the video. For that matter the video file types are different between the home slider and the nectar slider, which is also confusing. Also, the video shows some code being created when the video slides are uploaded, but I did not see that happen when I uploaded my video slides. Personally a more detailed PDF would work better for me, one that matches the current theme revision.

Think I found the answer—the page layout selection(home) controls whether the slider is present. This info should be highlighted in the PDF or videos IMO.

I’m glad you found the answer that the Home Slider & the Nectar Slider are two different entities – one being place through the “home” page template and one through the Nectar Slider shortcode/visual composer element. The use cases can be seen on the demos here and here – these two sliders are also covered in the user guide pdf in the “Nectar & Home Sliders” section and in the Video tutorials
I’m sorry for the ignorant question but I cannot see a visual composer option for a button. How do I add a button?
I found it. It’s a shortcode that can only be added when you add an element that has a text block.

Hi there, is there a way to simply create a responsive image wall (WITHOUT GAPS) across a portfolio page, for example?

Right now, this only seems possible when using the portfolio element, but for that, I have to create a bunch of portfolio items just so I can show single images on a page which is not ideal.

Any chance of adding the option to change a font color in the typography section? You can change the font family, size, weight, etc, but can’t change the color. That would be an amazing addition. Pretty please.

Hey Will, I’m not seeing any of the themes scripts loading in – can you try to delete the current version of your theme and upload a fresh copy downloaded from ThemeForest? Also, don’t rename the folder from “salient” unless you’re deactivating the theme first for a different one or else it can mess things up

For some reason the map on the Contact Page is not displaying my marker. I only have 1 location (which I have enabled). I put in the appropriate coordinates, and even uploaded my own marker image. But it just isn’t displaying on the map. Any thoughts?

why does it seems that if I place a background image on a row and enable the parallax option, my image becomes very stretched or upsized? Even when I have cropped the image properly.
The thing is, I want my background to appear the right size as I have cropped it with the parallax effect. It appears properly when I deactivate the parallax but gets blown up when I activate the parallax effect, is this some kind of bug? Thanks for helping

When you activate the parallax effect it gets set to background-position: fixed – which makes the sizing relative to the browser window since the height it needs to actually be will be close to the browser window height (since it gets revealed from the bottom of browser window to the top as you scroll while barley moving). Therefore you should upload images near 1000px tall for those sections

I have been trying to create a new blog post using the visual composer. But everytime I update it and click on use new version, all my info goes off and when I re-do everything and click on save, it again shows me the same info saying that I used the old composer.

There’s an icon shortcode which offers font awesome + 2 other icon libraries – but there’s no modal element in the Salient VC and you’d need to add a prettyphoto class to any links you wish to turn into a lightbox. As far as that pugin compatibility goes – from what I’ve heard from a couple users who have it, the addons works but a few elements have css conflicting issues
